    This kinda happened to me on accident but I was painting a Christmas ornament. I was using the same color the whole time and I'm not sure what would have happened if I used different colors. It made kind of a cool texture even though that wasn't what I was going for. I'll think of it as a happy accident though because I do love me some texture!

    awesome great work! What would you suggest to do differently if this technique is used for a large artwork, like a 60x 60"?

    So what's the actual dimensional texture of the finish like when dry using your technique? Is it a mostly smooth in the dimensional sense making it mostly visual effect or is it actually pretty chunky? The paint cracking like that has to leave *some* texture but it looks like your blue paint layer was a pretty thinly applied overall.

    Interesting! Do the cracks make it more difficult to paint your subject? Are there Divots?

    I have a watercolor painting of a garden scene as if you are looking out of a window to the backyard. I am trying to decide how I want to paint the "cross section and outside frame of the (imaginary) window." I am leaning towards a crackle technique and am wondering if this one would work on this particular painting. The painting is on crescent board, so it's pretty sturdy. Have you ever done this as part of a watercolor?

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  Рік тому

      No I haven't but I don't think the watercolor would stick well to it. I would do a test on a different piece of paper before you do it on your project for sure. Who knows, maybe you will get an interesting new technique :)

    How much would a paining of a fox like this cost ?

    This is so cool Lisa ! So, does this cause the painting on top(the fox) to peel off or change?

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  2 роки тому +1

      Nope, because it's still all just acrylics. When it's all dry it's the same as usual :D

    Dumb question: how to get it to crack horizontally instead of vertically?
    Thank you for this, I love it!

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  2 роки тому +1

      Just turn the canvas the other direction so when you're really letting the paint run, have it run horizontally at that stage instead. In the end, you don't have THAT much control over the cracks though, they're going to do what they want lol.

    You talk so fast I didn't grasp all what you said. You put a tick layer of painting then on top of it you put a thin layer after that you use air dryer to dry them.
