Painkiller! Seeing that you love mindbending guitarwork you'll absolutely love it!!
Beyond the realms of death is better
One Shot at Glory.
When you don't know if it is Metal or Rock and Roll... Welcome to Hard Rock!!!
Listen to their debut album Rocka Rolla. Will confuse the hell out of you. Kinda rock, kinda metal.
Greatest band of all time, in my opinin, Rob Halfords range is crazy. Love that scream
Fav song of Judas Priest. Hits so hard you better not have any sneaky feels or u gonna need a safe word. Dope reactions of Marilyn Manson and Opeth too... \m/
Heavy metal.
New wave of British heavy metal.
Yeah, this song feels like hard-rock to me, like the guitar riff is mainly meant to be cactchy rather than heavy and agressive. A song like Sinner, Saints in Hell or Ripper is more heavy-metal.
Judas Priest is the ideal band for history lesson in Metal.
70's: Judas Priest - victim of changes.
You can hear a heavier kind of rock that not yet metal as we know it today and you hear alot of blues influences still in the music
80's: Judas Priest - breaking the law
Blues influences disappear and rock becomes more heavy and riff focus
80's: Judas Priest - The sentinel
Harder and faster guitars with more a modern day metal feel. Tells epic fictional story, something that really defines the metal genre from others.
90's: Judas Priest - Painkiller
Metal has become more aggresive and faster and is like you know it today.
Good choice for a start, watching painkiller after this would really help compare what Judas Priest has done throughout time.
VaultSparten can’t wait!
nah do metalmeltdown !
Yeah, Painkiller quite a progression from this song. And their new album kicks major ass.
And then back and listen to Dreamer Deceiver, for some lovely 70:s Priest.
The Hellion/Electric Eye live from the Fuel for life tour. Awesome song, awesome solo, awesome live sound. :)
Judas priest - Painkiller
akshit padhu fuck yeah!
This got requested more than Painkiller? Painkiller is a lot different to this
Spawn, why do you call it that?
and metal meltdown
Victim of Changes!!!!!!!
danielsonnv yeeees please, and dreamer deceiver, dope songs
Great song.
Seeing that song live is a fucking EXPERIENCE, let me tell you. I saw them a couple years ago and he sounded as good as it as he does on the album. He hit every fucking note. Fucking AMAZING.
Judas Priest-Painkiller
Judas Priest-The Ripper
Judas Priest-The Green Manalishi
Judas Priest-Hell Patrol
Electric Eye and Living after Midnight as well!
Judus priest " painkiller"
THE quintessential Judas Priest song!! Cmon Alex, you have to! :P
Beyond the realms of death is better
*Judas Priest
Yes!
Gotta listen to Painkiller next to see the dramatic change Judas Priest made
I still can't belive Rob sings both song
It's so different
every JP album is completely different from the previous one
"Breaking The Law" *is* a good introduction point to Priest. It's basically a Heavy Metal version of an early 60's rock song. It's short (only 2:33) and sweet, and the video is cute and cheesy. It's just a classic fun Judas Priest song. 😊
The cool thing about Priest is that they're still going! They just released an album this year and it's killer!
1. Painkiller
2. Beyond the realms of death
3. Victim of changes
4. Exciter
5. Sinner
6. Let us prey/call for the priest
7. Ripper
8. Sentinel
9. All Guns Blazing
SID G the hellion
You forgot "Better by you better than me." It's the most infamous song by priest. They ended up in court because of those idiots killed themselves because of that song.
Andrew Martinez the old spooky tooth song
Andrew Martinez I don't him want to "do it" :p
React to Painkiller by Judas Priest.
Alex May he is the painkiller
He.
Is.
The.
Painkiller.
THIS
IS
THE
PAIN
KILLEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
PAIN!!!
This is a good representation of early era Priest. They evolved over the years, their later stuff got much heavier. For the best of their heavier, IMO, check Painkiller. Its only one of the best metal songs of all time, bad ass drums, killer riffs, insane solos, and Rob Halford doing what he does best(and didn't do at all here) screaming his fucking lungs out.
It is a golden oldie for the Priest. When that song is played at their concerts , the fans go bananas!! They drive up tempo song after song whipping their fans into a frenzy. It really kicks off with this song. You should go to one of their concerts just to see the crowd reaction. You will be amazed. One of my favorite Judas Priest songs is " Beyond The Realms Of Death ". It features not one but TWO killer guitar solos. Each of which runs rings around Jimmy Pages' legendary " Stairway To Heaven " solo. And the two solos are preformed by two different guitarist. No other band in the world was blessed with that depth of talent when they released that song.
Judas Priest- Painkiller!! Do it bruh! 🤘🤘
Whats up broooo!! You picked a good song, but Painkiller is mind blowing bro!!
Victor Febres A. Leather rebel is good and night crawler as well
RavenBurstYT Official yes, but none of those were that important for heavy metal as painkiller was!
Breaking the Law was the announcement of a new era for the heavy metal. Literally, because the song came in 1980.
Judas Priest always breaking the rules
Metal is way more intense than Rock
You must do painkiller from Judas priest
sufyan ahmed Beyond the realms of death is better
Tim Dacy but painkiller will be better because of the vocals...
JUDAS PRIEST - PAINKILLER 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥
My 10 year old son heard this for the first time two years ago. He started rocking out and always wants me to blast in my car. I go son, what do you like about this so much and he replies dad… I can feel it. So so yeah, I have another metalhead that I didn’tr even intend to turn into one
Purest Example of Commercial Metal but indeed Judas Priest is the Very First Twin Guitar Metal Band in the World and inventors Arguably of the Power Metal Subgenre 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Painkiller ofcourse, like all other reaction channels
Beyond the realms of death is better
Tim Dacy Turbo lover
All Guns Blazing is also super good... better than Painkiller in my opinion... from the same album though
Whole Painkiller album is mindblowing stuff
Hellion/Electric Eye would be my recc.
''PAINKILLER''
thanks for you reaction, greetings from colombia! :D
Ill give you a hint: he is the painkiller
Alex this is early metal. Since you started with bands like Slipknot and Korn (who are from the late 90’s and early 2000) Judas Priest and other bands from that time period will sound a lot calmer. If you listen to bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden you will see bands from the 70s and early 80s will sound more like a hard rock compared to Slipknot, Korn, and even Metallica. They are just from different times. That’s why it sounds more rock and roll. They are still classified as metal though. One of the best definitions for metal is cranking the intensity to an eleven. At that time this was an eleven. Now a days bands like Slipknot can be 4 compared to all the newer bands.
FoodIt3ms Honestly those bands sound a lot more like metal than Korn or Slipknot, from a musical standpoint Korn and Slipknot are a lot more based in Hard Rock.
k0bra 3eak I think Korn and Slipknot are based off a lot of different genres. They are Nu-Metal for a reason.
FoodIt3ms If you want to go into detail about bands under the alt/nu metal category. Read this www.reddit.com/r/Metal/comments/8r0scm/shreddits_offtopic_discussion/e0ovqnz/ It breaks down the musical style very well from a theory perspective, which is rare.
Very well said.
This! Judas Priest is a direct ancestor of many/most of the bands that came after them. Hey, just for fun, maybe someone should dig up that metal "family tree" for Alex that shows all of the bands and subgenres and how they're related?
Ah, found it! yle.fi/progressive/flash/teema/pdf/Metal_Evolution_Family_Tree_poster_2.pdf
Hey dude, for the love of god, please listen to a song by Judas Priest called PAINKILLER. In my opinion it’s one of if not the greatest heavy metal song ever written 🤘🤘🔥
It has the greatest solo ever written for sure
Painkiller is right up there with holy wars - megadeath, fear of the dark - iron maiden, and the unforgiven - metallica.
I'm a big fan of rob offord .... but painkiller is actually one of the very few i don't like
I'd say Ozzy's "Mr Crowley" gives it a run for it's money for greatest solos, but it's certainly top-of-the-heap. :)
Why does everybody say Painkiller. Hell Patrol is better
Raking the lawn!!!!
duuude yesss! finally you're getting there! slowly starting to dig the real stuff! luv ya bruh! :)
So much Painkiller, but be sure to also check "Sentinel" live version, totally epic.
UPD: It's actually very helpful to learn about heavy metal on example of Judas Priest; they started in 70's and you can track how they metalized their sound by the time. Not only JP were on top of the birth of heavy metal wave, but they even reinvented themselves on Painkiller in times when simple old heavy metal was pushed away by thrash, death, power metal and other subgenres.
It would be better to react to Painkiller. Hope you react to it later.
Naw Electric Eye
Meet in the middle
All Guns Blazing or Metal Meltdown
Agreed on Painkiller. it's "melt your face off" metal.
Fuck Painkiller. Everyone and their mom has reacted to Painkiller. Judas priest has so many great songs.
Any song from Painkiller would be better
You're awesome Alex! Much love from Aggieland!
The guys said they filmed this at Barclays Bank and that they still do their banking there. Judas Priest went through a lot of changes from rock to really thrash metal. If you check out their catalog there are a lot of really good songs. "Beyond the Realm of Death," "High Desert Plain" "The Sentinel" some examples
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Then when you've recovered Judas Priest- Victim of changes
Basically Heavy Metal is a subgenre of Hard Rock, which is a subgenre of Rock. Please do more Judas Priest!
Judas Priest are music not only a band classified in a genre . They have changed sounds and stiles during the decades . Rock and Roll Hard Rock to the havier recent periods
The best thing about this is that, while it is very early metal it shows where the genre developed from, and you can hear the influences on later work. The first true Doom Metal song is the title track off Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album, but Judas priest showed the more punk and more high-speed side of metal.
when i saw "Hip-Hop Head's FIRST TIME Hearing JUDAS PRIEST..." i insta clicked, than i saw it was Breaking the Law, not a bad song, good classic, but i was hoping for painkiller, motherfucking PAINKILLERRRRR!!
Painkiller Judas Priest
Rock n roll is another thing.... the rythm, the distortion and that bass, this is CLASSIC heavy metal.
Metal Meltdown by Judas Priest is pretty much the first time a major band played power metal on stage. They cemented their place in the Rock pantheons then. Faces melted for real that day.
PAINKILLER!!!!!
PAINKILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLERRRRRRRRRRRR! Gonna blow your mind! Every day when im off to work i put on Painkiller to "wake up"
This is where it all began for me as a metalhead. You Got Another Thing Coming was my first song.
Painkiller, like everybody said.
And also:
- Ram It Down
- Leather Rebel
- Metal Meltdown
- The Hellion/Electric Eye
- Screaming For Vengeance
Painkiller for a double dip for sure!! This is mild compared to Painkiller lol
React tô painkiller !!!
Yes Judas Priest is metal. This is to me the best guitarriff in metal ever! :D If you watch them live, you will experience them as a much heavier band. Breaking the law is really amazing, everybody is headbanging on the riff and the energy is awesome!
Going since 1989, still rocking like they're 25
Painkiller, the sentinel, metal meltdown, you got another thing coming,
Caleb Moncrief all good choices!
Caleb Moncrief don't forget heading out to the highway
NOW THIS IS HEAVY METAL!!! Please more Megadeth and Iron Maiden 🖤
Abril D Breaking The Law is actually Priest going into a more Hard Rock direction. You can hear it in the atyle of riffs compared to aongs off of Painkiller or Sad Wings.
k0bra 3eak yeah i know but judas priest is known for being a heavy metal band. that's what i meant.
Abril D Yeah, just trying not to be confusing. I mean Priests first album wasn't really metal either, they only started becoming a metal band with Sad Wings and Sin after Sin. They solidified it with Painkiller years later. British Steel was a lot more rock than metal.
Abril D he needs to do "a tout le monde" from megadeath. Beautiful song.
Cali . . yeah and tornado of souls or symphony of destruction
The Sentinel! Fantastic song, and a good example of Rob Halford's voice range.
Yo Alex! So, there's the band As I Lay Dying. They released a new song, My Own Grave. I know you do research into songs, and you'll be blown away by how crazy it is.
BUT! The song is an absolute banger, and I think you'll dig it. Cheers!
If you want heavy songs by judas priest, try metal meltdown or painkiller. You will love it for sure.
Should've been Painkiller
I am so excited to see priest again this summer!!!
I would like to recommend a film to you. "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" This film explains where "Metal" came from and how evolved to a differend styles of Metal music. The film explains that metal music comes from blues band's. Also they answer what was the first "Metal" band.
YEA PAINKILLER NEXT BROO!!!
PAINKILLER is the one from Judas Priest that you really really need to listen too...... awesome video as usual by the way....👊👊👍👍
I love how they were absolutely shit faced when they did this music video! Damn, I love this band !
In their origins, Judas Priest was a rock and roll / hard rock band, breaking the law is a perfect song to start with Priest, this is such an iconic band in the metal music, their are the metal gods, even if you research a little more you could find that Rob Halford, the vocalist is called "THE METAL GOD", for the next song you need to react to Painkiller, that's the song with a more modern "metal sound" and is because Judas Priest help to create that sound for all the band ho came after theme...
...Black Sabbath create the metal with their dark sound and Judas priest give it their speed
Greetings from Chile bro
Mastodon- Blood and Thunder
Painkiller is now a required listen. It brings out the most pure of Judas Priest.
This is what I grew up with they're my Dad's 3rd favorite band so I've heard this song 1,000s of times in my life, it's also what he has used for his phone ring tone for as long as I can remember, definitely can't go wrong with any Judas Priest.
Priest will rock on forever!!🤘🤘
Defo PAINKILLER.... Totally different and awesome
Painkiller is heavy as fuk
PSZ3MK1 and its heavy right from the get go. Those fucking drums man, pure fucking metal.
The first song I tought myself to play on the guitar :) simple yet powerful :)
thumbs up bro that particular song by Judas Priest to me is really the only one that I would ever listen to be that as it may great reaction Alex. 👊
Now Painkiller Bro. Will keep requesting until you do it:). Breaking the law is more on the rock n roll side, nothing metal almost. Painkiller is on the other end completely. And definitely best introductory song to this band in my opinion.
Sayonil Mitra, nah. Gotta go back farther than that. Green manalishi, electric eye/hellion, SFV.
Rammstein - Amerika!
ITS TIME
fuk yes
Beyond the realms of death. A personal favorite of mine and a favorite of many priest fans.
Your reaction to when Rob was pulling the bars apart was hilarious. LOL classic. Love you bro.

Painkiller by Judas Priest
Great video Alex as always, I request AlterBridge, Blackbird. Keep being a positive force and fun!
I wonder how many people were fans before painkiller. I’ve seen PREIST 18 times and have been a fan since the 70’s! Take that! I can comment on this! ✌️
Children of Bodom: Hatebreeder, Kissing the Shadows, Tie My Rope
Kissing the Shadows is lit af
kissing the shadows or next in line
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
If you claim to be a Metalhead and you haven't listened to sabbath, then you are not a metalhead. Why? Because They invented metal! 🤘
Agustin Caniulao I would love to see him react to Paranoid. I've been waiting for a Black Sabbath reaction. I wonder what he'll say when reacting to Iron Man. I think he'll recognize the riff.
Agustin Caniulao Justin Beiber invented Metal. GOSH
Isaac Duplantis "Who the ...'s Justin Bieber?"
Isaac Duplantis Who the fuck is "Justin Beaver"??
Not Paranoid 😅 Black Sabbath!
My absolute favourite band. I saw them tonight (10/3) at the Download Festival in Sydney. Loved every minute of it and this song closed the set.
I was a starving student in a university and music was just something to keep it from being quiet. Then my roommate turned me on to Judas priest breaking the law. Music forced it's way to the front of my interest and always been a hard rocker and priest is by far my fave since 1981
Judas Priest - Painkiller!
For face melting metal you should probably hear painkiller that is also from Judas Priest, congrats for your channel and keep the good work and let's get the #Hefnerds tribe grow🤘🤘🤘
Cemetery Gates- Pantera! Beautiful song!
Painkiller man. Thats the epitome of Heavy Metal. The song is without a doubt the benchmark heavy metal everything. Solos, lyrics, singing, drumming, riffs... its just... wow. Its incredible to see how much judas priest evolved throughout the years. . I think you'll enjoy painkiller. Do the studio version my dude. The vevo version will get blocked and there aren't too many good live versions out their so just do the studio version.
You should react to alestorm drink.
It's pirate metal.
And I'm also early
And magnetic north
I hate that term so much, their playing power metal with some occasional folk influences.
FlyingPiggys Yes Do Alestorm! Do drink!
k0bra 3eak whats wrong with saying pirate metal? it gets across what they sound like waay more then saying power metal with folky influences
k0bra 3eak Pirate Metal is a subgenre itself. Yes, you can say it's power metal with folk influences... and in the same way, you can say that Black Sabbath is blues with a lower sound. Everything comes from something that came before.
Also can you react to "carry on my wayward son" by Kansas!!! It's my favorite song
It's not metal but I love it too :) Winchesters would be proud
This is a classic, cant say the numbre of times i have heard it and it never gets old. Watched your video on painkiller and in my mind this is better. Have a good one.
Alex, your next Judas Priest reaction should be Painkiller! This one kicks ASS!! Keep up the great work!! I would also like to suggest a band named Iced Earth. They are an awesome metal band that I know you would really enjoy. Here are a few: Dracula, A Question of Heaven, Dantes Inferno (my favorite), Violate, Framing Armageddon, Angels Holocaust, Prophecy to name a few.
Painkiller
PAINKILLER!
Mr. Hefner, Judas Priest is one of those bands that came along(if not waved the flag at the frontlines) in the so called ''Wave of British Heavy Metal'. Overtime, their music evolved a lot and yes, older material sounds more 'Rock 'n Roll', but if you fast farward a bit in time, you'll get more powerhousing tracks. And songs where Rob Halford blows you away with his singing even more. Check out songs like Painkiller or Halls of Valhalla(latest record)
.
Priest were pioneers of metal. From their Hellbent for Leather album their sound morphed into what became metal later. Just as Elvis and the Beatles broke ground to make room for Nirvana and others later, Priest and their sound led to bands like Black Sabbath and Ozzy, Kiss (recognize the costumes still alive with bands like Slipknot and Mushroomhead), and later your hair metal bands of the 80's like Poison, Def Leppard, et al (a sound still alive with bands like Steel Panther) and then to your Metallica, Megadeath, Anthrax, etc.... to todays sound. They can also be credited with being the predecessors of Punk, Ska, and others. To put this in maybe a more familiar context.... Much like Curtis Blow and Run DMC led to acts like 50 cent and others on the modern Rap scene. Love your stuff and your reaction. Keep up the good work..... Not the best of class but still a good one I would recommend giving Texas HIppie Coalition a listen. Perhaps Pissed off and mad about it. Peace
Painkiller!
React to manowar warriors of the world united pleaaaaaasss
Love your reactions man! And yes, everyone is suggesting Painkiller and they're right, is one of their best and most famous songs. But you see, as a professional journalist with 15 years working in the rock and metal industry, I honestly thing you should listen to The Sentinel first, as a middle step between Breaking the law and Painkiller.
They may have started in 1969 but Rocka Rolla, their first album, only came out in 1974.
And Breaking The Law great hit that it was came out during their 80s hair metal phase, much different from their albums in the 70s.
In the 80s, they made an admitted concerted effort to writing as many anthems as the could write.
It was also the first time in their history that they did not have rotating drummers as they did in the 70s.
John Hinch played drums for Rocka Rolla, Alan Moore played drums on Sad Wings of Destiny, studio hotshot Simon Phillips played drums on Sin After Sin...but he did not choose to tour with the band.
Then for a minute the drum throne stopped spinning.
Drummer Les Binks took over from Simon Phillips and played on Stained Class and Killing Machine and their awesome live album Unleashed in the East Live in Japan.
Then, Les departed and former Trapeze drummer took over the drum throne for the entire decade of the 80's.
Point of Entry, Screaming For Vengeance, Defenders of the Faith, Turbo, and Ram It Down were all powered by Dave's back beat.
Then came the brute beast Painkiller and ushered in the Scott Travis drum era.
Scott took the double kick insanity of both Simon Phillips AND Les Binks and cranked it to 11.
I would say he might be better than Simon and Les at double kick mayhem.
And FINALLY the Priest drum throne stopped spinning.
Even when Rob left to form the sadly short-lived Fight, Scott Travis left with Rob, leaving Priest drummer-less again.
However, after Fight splintered, Scott went back to the Priest fold and has remained there since then.
6 drummers have played in Priest altogether.
The core line up of Rob Halford on vocals, KK Downing on guitar and Glenn Tipton on guitar and Ian Hill on bass remained intact until Ken Downing retired and Glenn Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Richie Faulkner took over for the departed Ken Downing and now Andy Sneap, their most recent producer, stepped in on guitar as well.
So, for the first time, the core of Judas Priest is Rob, Ian, and Scott.
Scott actually helps wind the crowd up, too, especially for PAINKILLER, which you seriously need to hear and react to.
