Massive W from Nintendo. Hoping they can improve the quality with it as well, turning games into at least 60fps from the old 30fps. Games like ToTK will indeed need those improvements.
Does make me wonder if they're gonna do what they did with the 3DS games and put a tumor on the side so no one will be dumb enough to try and shove it in a original switch.
All I needed to hear, honestly. Backwards compatibility is such a big part of consoles these days, so knowing Nintendo is taking that step is huge. The fact that NSO will continue to next gen is a W, too!
I see this as an absolute win I’ve been a Nintendo fan all my life this used to be the norm the ds used to play gameboy colour and advanced games the gameboy played colour games this is a insane W
Good decision. This means I will buy the new console day one to continue playing my games on better hardware rather than waiting a year or so for the new console to slowly build it's game library from scratch.
Thank god, now I can finally play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. I also hope that the new system also upscales old games like the ps5 does. It’ll be amazing to go back and play the old Xenoblade games if that’s the case
Oh good! We don’t have to experience another Wii Shop/past eshop closedown (for now.) Also the cooling fan for my switch is dead, so just need to hang onto that extension fan for a little longer.
This also has a downside that the new switch is now limited in the sense that it has to cater for older games on older consoles - So the Switch 2 probably won't blow the performance of the Switch out of the water
Nahhhh that's not how that works. What it means is that the switch will run on the same framework. The Switch's issue was always hardware limitations. This isn't like a PS5 situation where developers are making games for the PS4 because of the market. The Switch is already an outdated piece of hardware
@kidkouga92 yeah that's pretty much what I meant, they aren't going to exceed with the Switch 2 performance now which sucks, itll be the same architecture. The switch 2 will probably be somewhere around what the switch should've been on launch 6 years ago. Games like botw and Pokemon look so bad it's painful.
That being said that’s so awesome! I’m still keeping my switch 100% but it’s nice to not feel obligated to pull a different console out every time I want to play an older game, this is exciting!!
Who cares about switch online just sell the games on the eshop and keep it now that is how it is done just like the old days just like having physical copies right
WE WON!!! SWITCH 2 GONNA HAVE THE BEST LIBRARY OF GAMES EVER!!!
endless amount of games ! day one buy for me

Metroid dread 4k 🤤
I guess the big question is the successor is like a 3DS to DS , meaning can we put our Switch cartridges in the Switch successor.

Honestly, I still got a lot of Switch games that I haven't played or completed yet. This is nice 😂
I already knew it would be. Nintendo is not that dumb to not have make it backwards compatible.
Nice, backwards compatibility is a step forward!

I will replay all of the Xenoblade games with this !
Xenoblade X coming out next year , I am so happy !!!
If they can fix the drift issue , that would be a huge win to go along with the backwards compatibility. 😊
So am I understanding right that all of my purchased digital games will also transfer over!?!?
Thats my understanding too
YESSIR
my decision to wait till the nintendo switch 2 to play tears of the kingdom will pay off now.
Nintendo are COOKING 🔥🔥🔥
Backward compatible is gonna cost more but me liking it
Roger we did it! Now I can play Ultimate!
Obviously. They need all those things that Nintendo Switch 1 has. Hoping NSO continues to grow during Nintendo Switch 2
Sweet this is good to know! Especially online!!! This gives me hope they'll add a GameCube to the game pass!!
Good thing the Nintendo Switch HAS GAMES!
I see this as an absolute win.
😎😎😎
It's really is the *Switch Too.* 🎉
Thank god, now I can finally play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Does this include physical switch game cartridges?

Dude, nothing is confirmed yet
@@sytorias7143 botw doesn't look bad nor does it play badly (except one specific area in the game)
Well that would mean switch 2 exclusive games exist but can not be played on switch 1
But switch 1 can be played on switch 2
Thought he was going to say it’s compatible with GameCube or something and blow my mind 😂
That being said that’s so awesome! I’m still keeping my switch 100% but it’s nice to not feel obligated to pull a different console out every time I want to play an older game, this is exciting!!
So basically the switch but doubled. Yeah I'm in
I do believe this is the first time Nintendo actually acknowledged the Switch 2. Or did I miss something?
They mentioned during the last one that it would be announced by the end of the fiscal year (March 2025)! Also, hi Geremy!!! 👋
PEAK!!!!!!
does that mean all my eshop games
YUP
That includes games right?
This has to be bait
Of course lmao
you look like elon musk if he was friendly and had human warmth
LOL
I love it!!!
WE WON!
Dope
Nintendo: Should we say no to money? Hmmmmmmm
