The second official trailer for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie just dropped and it had everything from Knuckles making Pokemon references to the return of Shadow's iconic gun from the Shadow the Hedgehog game! 3:30 the funny thing is Jeff Fowler worked on the intro for Shadow the Hedgehog. People started to speculate that the gun was only included because of him, he posted a mini scene not shown in the trailer of Sonic collapsing in front of Shadow, referencing when Shadow shot him in the back of the head

That Detective Pikachu joke has LAYERS! Not only are they animated and designed similarly for both, but it’s widely considered that the first Sonic movie and Detective Pikachu were the turning points for video game movie adaptations becoming good (Also a possible Sonichu joke, but we won’t go there)! That Shadow highlights joke _could_ be a reference to SnapCube’s dub, but unless they have Eggman do a speech like “I’ve come to make an announcemen! Weak-minded humans: Welcome your new overlords!”, it’s probably a coincidence. I can’t wait to possibly have this movie be the very first movie I ever see in 4DX next month while I’m at a theater near Disney World for Christmas Vacation, since my state doesn’t have those kinds of theaters!
Not sure if you've seen it, but there's like a 30 second ad that they released recently where Sonic calls Shadow Hot Topic, which was a joke that the fandub made about 2 or 3 times.

I also hope Sonic gets a joke in that Shadow sounds like Keanu since Sonic is a canon Keanu stan in movie one

I recently watched Sonic and Sonic 2 , and I have to say as someone who doesn't play video games, this looks badass and hopefully the best movie in the trilogy. I can't wait.
Shadow's INSTANTLY going to make it the best of the three, haha
It's taking many cues from Sonic Adventure 2, and that's in my opinion, the best Sonic has even been story-wise. Shadow's reputation as an "edgelord" tends to be how they treated him after his debut in SA2 but he's a fantastic character here, so we're very excited that they're taking the best out of the franchise to make a fantastic close to the trilogy!
I honestly want to be there in person to see and hear Idris Elba go "Pika Pika".

I actually thought Gerald Robotnik was a hallucination due to Eggman's insanity. But, he's actually REAL?!
Well, the thing about Shadow Generations is that Shadow himself grew more powerful (solo-ing Metal Overlord when it took combined power of 12 ppl beforehand is kinda op, ngl), so using guns in movies for his first appearance makes sense?
I really think we're getting a very SA2 ending. I was also starting to think Shadow's face turn was going to happen earlier, but it really feels like he's going to struggle with his memories of Maria for a while before going Super with Sonic to save the day.
My guess is Shadow will obviously betray eggman and once eggman realizes he can’t rely on others he’ll make Metal and that’ll be teased in the post credits, I also think in between 3 and 4 we’ll get a solo shadow movie that introduces Rouge and Omega and Sonic 4 will essentially be a Sonic heroes movie with Team hero and Team dark against eggman and Metal Sonic
After nearly 20 years Shadow is finally PACKING HEAT again!

Hey Roger! Always love your reactions and so excited for this movie too. It looks awesome. It's so great to see Sonic back to consistently being peak in this franchise and the games with Sonic X Shadow Generations. As someone who's been a fan of Sonic since the mid-2000s, this is the best time to be alive as a fan. It's a dream come true for me.
Comparing with the first trailer, I think it’ll be the Tokyo fight first with shadow, then the two Eggmans, and then when Gerald goes destructive, Robotnik will go depressed with shaggy hair and that’s when team Sonic team up with him
I think the main purpose of this trailer was to show the contrast between dr egg man team and Sonic team and especially Sonic and Shadow.
For his neutral special, he wields a gun.

Yeah, I was hyped all the way through this trailer! This is gonna be great. We have G.U.N. and the Space Colony ARK, the moon being partially destroyed, yeah that's the makings of a good movie adaptation for SA2.
I was also surprised that it seems we may not be getting Metal Sonic. I was 100% convinced we wouldn't get Biolizard and instead get Metal Overlord, but I've completely changed my opinion of on that.
With the Movie coming next month , i'm so excited for this Sequel, the Pika pika reference from tails was really funny

Also, I don't think you're far off with the metal sonic theory. This trailer feels very... edited. Feels like they're hiding a lot of the actual plot to not spoil anything. I mean, that alley scene with eggman coming out of the sewer has a VERY suspicious gap on the right, given the positioning of everyone else.
Will the space colony ark laser beam actually destroy the world because where do they fight at? 2:24. First i thought they are fighting on the moon but there are clouds or maybe they are fighting in green hills IN THE ORIGINAL GREEN HILLS FROM THE GAME BECAUSE LOOK WHERE SONIC IS AT 0:23 i mean it kinda of look like green hills from the game but because of the palm tree's, but look here 2:00 this kind of looks like the same spot where longclaw sent sonic before she died. Thats all

Both Sonic and Pikachu are based upon the mythical Raiju, so there is that.
Both wield lightning in some form or another, and both are known to be super fast (though Sonic has higher top speed).
