You guys are sooooo funny! Going off the rails is my favorite Dis Unplugged segment. Especially with Craig, Jackie, Deni and Ryno! And yes, Deni, sitting on the balcony in the morning with my cup of tea is a must do every trip.
@@chrishintz1077 I just spent 2 weeks at the cabins... that damned sign was more of a guideline to the cast members. LOL. Normally I'd be chapped about it but I was in such a good being at WDW. Having that poor lady see me cooking breakfast in my boxers and handing over a pile of Joffrey's 50th Anniversary coffee, and H²O lotion, was worth it! 💯🤣
I'm with Deni. A primary reason I love being a DVC Member is all (or at least almost all) the accommodations come with a balcony. I'm out there with my coffee every single morning, and with a beer/cocktail in the evening on all non-park days.
One of my favorite Disney resort activities is listening to the pianist at Grand Floridian! Just taking a break for the day and sitting and listening is SO relaxing! Also happy Pop Century and Coronado got mentioned here, two of my favorites!
What a wonderful episode. Your narratives about the hotels really gave me the feels of some of my former vacations. My biggest fault on my vacations have been underutilizing resort time - spending more time relaxing on a balcony, enjoying the small cafes at the resort.
You guys need to leave Ryno alone. I always get a gut laugh when I watch this show because of y’all’s interactions. Thanks for the smiles. Wink at Ryno 😂
Best hotel lounging activity is at the Grand Californian during Christmas. Sitting in the main common room or by the fire place with all of the Christmas decorations and listening to the piano player
Jackie I also love the GF! We have stayed there several times. We have always loved hanging out listening to the piano and the orchestra, when they were there. The smell of the GF is like no other! ❤️
Our balcony at Old Key West was huge & delightful in the morning with coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine. Had perfect weather week before last.
The Riviera Hotel with a cup of coffee in the court yard watching the Skyliners going by and looking at the water. The cabins at Christmas, rent a golf cart then drive around the area to see all the Christmas lights put up by the people in the RV's and Tents, soooooo awesome.
Really happy Pop Century got mentioned, I stayed there on my last trip and found it to be the perfect combination of fun and comfort for me. With it's fun decor and theme, and the Skyliner as a transportation option I have no reason to want to stay anywhere else.
I love staying at the Boardwalk! The boardwalk at night is super nice and you can walk the loop with a margarita. In normal times you can also catch Fantasmic! and now Harmonious from a bench. Animal Kingdom Lodge is also a favorite! So relaxing
Love it when you really go off the rails like today! Get to learn so much more about each of you and appreciate you all even more! So interesting how different everyone feels about the same resorts. Look forward to the next show!
Dis, Mention was made about the Treehose Villa's. When they were originally built, Disney was trying to move foreward on Mineral King Ski Resort. The Villas were an attempt to build by doing the least amount of damage to the surrounding environment.!978 4 nights accomodation 5 day's use of transport, 5 days at Magic Kingdom, admissoion to River Country. A coupon good for dinner, 2 coupons good for lunch, coupon for a lunch cruise, coupon to hire a sail or speed boat for an hour. Adult double occupancy, $275:00, includes tax. The Skyway has been with us for 2 years and it's seems to be growing on us all. It does need expanding. The more years that pass the Contemporary mellows on us. It's not the cold hospital environment of the past. It was bleak in the '70's. The Grande Destino Tower just gets better every day. You can see Deni would live on special coffee's, shes my kind of girl. Cheers, Chris Perry.
100% with Craig. A vacation with my entire family in one house is my nightmare. Did it once with my family and use to do it every year with my in laws. Absolutely awful and never again. My in laws still do it, but I don't understand why because they spend most of the week pissed off at one another.
I rent an amazing 4 br 2 story house in Kissimmee, and it is amazing. I stay downstairs and never even see my grown son and his guests since they use the 2nd floor. We love it. I think I paid $120/night last time. We loved the pool and hot tub, and all the room to spread out. We spend all of our time at the parks so have to time to explore resorts anyway. We used to stay at Disney resorts but since I retired, I had to cut costs and starting renting. Best decision I ever made.
We love the Wilderness Lodge. We have stayed at this hotel since my kids were in preschool. They are both in high school now.I’ve always wanted to try the poly, just to see what’s it’s like.
Yay Fort Wilderness! I discovered it back in the 80s when I was my family’s WDW planner in middle school, (yes, I was a nerd lol), and it’s been our favorite ever since!
We love balcony rooms as well. My husband was looking out the door from our Contemporary balcony in September and wondered about seeing a butterfly. Fortunately he didn’t open the door. It was a bat. I have watched fireworks from our hidden balcony in PJ’s and a glass of wine at the Boardwalk.
Smoked turkey! That's our favorite Disney drink. Lemonade, regular and Red Stag bourbon, grenadine, liquid smoke and those fabulous Luxardo cherries. We make it at home... 😀
The sand bottom pool at the Yacht Club was so wonderful on my feet after a hard day at the parks. We were so blessed during the recession yrs to be able to take advantage of all the deals there were for all the deluxes, except the GF. Haven't been able to do deluxe for yrs now
We stayed at Fort Wilderness cabins last week. Very nice and pretty area. Great place to stay with our little dog Callie Mae. We’ll call it glamping! 😃
I like many of the DVC hotels. AKL, BW, Bay lake, Poly, GF, CC. on joint family stays we like the 2 bedroom or 3bedroom grand villas. it is important to have a common kitchen/living room to get together at the end or beginning of every day. we dont go all together around the parks but it is nice to be together in the room. I asked my kids if they want separate rooms at Poly (for example) but their response is that the common living space is what makes it fun. we have had larger family beach vacations many times with over 20 people and get along just fine. the trick is to assign the cooking/clean up work for different days so each has only one day assigned to them.
I would love to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The only thing that puts me off is how remote it is and that your only transport option is the bus. The treehouse sounds amazing; sadly, that will forever be way beyond my budget.
Great show, everyone! Love everything about Ft. Wilderness & we stayed in a Cabin, which is wonderful for “having space”. Coffee on the deck is lovely (in the fall/winter) & driving around in golf carts is so fun! You cannot beat that place for activities! My goal I think will be to stay at Port Orleans. I say I need palm trees at a hotel to feel like I’m on vacation but it has some palm trees, lol, I’ve noticed. It looks amazing & you have the beignets & water taxis to DS food & shopping. It’s gorgeous there!
Jackie is such an inspiration. I'm from Seattle as well and my wife and I want to move to Orlando so bad. Watching her and hearing her story is so inspiring. Keeping the hope alive!
I strongly suggest you watch videos that say "Why you might not like living in Orlando." I love visiting but heaven forbid, I would not want to spend my mornings wiping bugs off my car and worrying about the paint. Also, with relatives in one city, my dad wanted to go to WDW so we had to drive into Orlando and the traffic is always TERRIBLE. And this was over 12 years ago. I can't imagine how bad it is now. I went back last year to see Universal and the traffic in the morning is a bit slower off-season but I shudder at what happens during spring break or winter break.
We were at fort wildness for the outdoor movie about a month ago and the snack cart and the whole nine yards were there. I agree that this is one of our favorite free things to do (just wish they had a parking lot!)
We got an unexpectedly nice "standard" view at Pop Century on our trip back in September. I agree with Craig about that final approach on the Skyliner.
We stayed at Boardwalk once where we had a room in the building in the middle of the courtyard. Hated that there was no secret shortcut door to the boardwalk or the busses; you have to go through the lobby for everything. Normally I like to walk but this was pre-Achilles tendon repair surgery and it killed me! I LOVE a balcony room though!
Agree with Craig, just add the Skyliner to Coronado/Grand Destino and that takes it to the next level making it great! And give Grand D it’s own bus stop! The buses there are horrible!
Listening to Jackie talk about the GF made me remember how much we loved staying there in the past. Does anyone know what happened to the howling wolf sound that used to come from the Haunted Mansion? Years ago I remember hearing that along with the train noises from the MK while sitting on my balcony in the morning.
Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Port Orleans Riverside are my fav resorts to hang out for a few hrs. Totally take you away to another place. I hope they never refurb and ruin them like they did the Polynesian.
Excellent show as always :) Would love to hear a discussion about a) what new countries you'd like to see represented at Epcot, b) tips on how to save money/manage expenses when planning a WDW trip.
I want, very badly, to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, someday. It is, however, a double-edged sword; the moment my wife sees a giraffe eating breakfast, I already know that making rope drop at whatever theme park won't be happening.
We've always enjoyed Pop Century, especially since the remodel and addition of the skyliner. Love Port Orleans French Quarter too. We're also Park People though. We want to be In The Parks at Rope Drop Every Day and don't leave until the Park Closes. AK Lodge and Wilderness Lodge are beautiful(we splurge on special occasions) but they're both expensive for people who don't spend much time in the room.
Hi, relatively new here so it may have been covered, but would love to hear discussion about a disney trip with another family. What works, what doesn't. You all kind of touched on it around the tree houses, but would love to hear more.
Hugs to Jackie and Deni -- the guys really do go off on tangents every other thought. I've been lucky to stay in five different places over the years in the Orlando area. I would say my favorites were all of them (except the one off property which was pretty basic). I liked Poly for the theming and the beach where we watched the Electric Parade and the fireworks and the food was great. Caribbean surprisingly for the peace and quiet (we were far away from the lobby building and had the pool to ourselves during the day). Fort Wilderness for the woods, I live in Colorado and am very used to camping and staying in cabins but East coast woods are very different. Where I want to stay on my next vacation is Star Wars for 2 nights and Animal Kingdom for the rest. Going to be a shock to my system to go between the two.
love listening to you all discuss. How about this video idea....Disney musicals discussions. I have just watched Frozen the Musical and I was completely in AWEEEEED! That Let it Go scene was a show-stopper and the youtube video does not do its justice at all! I have seen many Disney Musicals, Mary Poppins, Beauty and Beast, Alladin, Lion King, etc. I just realized I never listen in to a great discussion on musicals.
Good show. Next show could be holiday related since it will be November! Or maybe talk about what you're watching on Disney+ because Disney+ Day is coming up.
The four of you are so good together. Ryno keeps trying to get y'all back on topic and you respectfully indulge for half a sentence. You can see him being a teensy bit disappointed and then he gets caught up in the sidebars. He's such a cutie. (relax, I'm old enough to be his granny). Ladies: I agree with both of you, accept tea instead of coffee. And Craig, you want to get everyone off topic; my question to you is "how many gators have you seen from your water mice?" The whole thing terrifies me.
What , not POFQ ? This one of our most favorite resort on property 🥰 it may not be a monorail resort , nor close to MK . However , the first time we walked through those doors out the backside it just felt like home ❤️ it’s our haven when come home fro the hustle & bustle of the busy parks . We LOVE the ferry that takes us back & forth to Disney Springs . The Sassagoula Float Works QS is so good . Oh man that jambalaya is yummy and that corn bread 😋 oh an one word beignets ❤️ and one bus stop !!!!! Really ? Oh yes ! It’s also so small , I consider every room is a preferred room ! I have never met a Disney Cast Member to be anything but kind , friendly and helpful !! So y’all can have your deluxe resorts ( ok ya did mention Destino Towers and other places around CSR ) but our favorite will always be POFQ
It looks amazing & if Disney made it a DVC, I’d buy, lol! I know they won’t because no patios/balconies, but I’d buy in even without that perk! 😂 I want to stay there next vacation!
Good show this week….. How about a show about what we can do with a family and without a family on a no park day while utilizing Disney property and transportation. Assume staying at a dvc property or some other Disney on-site resort . So things to do besides the pool, that won’t break the bank.
I'm trying to book for EPCOT's 40th but now even the value resorts are knocking on $200 a night - on property or off property - it is a tough decision to make.
If they were to build another Magic Kingdom area resort, what would you like to see them do? What are some of the things from other resorts that you love or hate that you would like to see included or not to the property. Another video idea is why can't they fix the transportation issues at the resorts that solely have to rely on busses? What would your reaction be is the skyliner was expanded to all the resorts that only have bus transportation?
I had the bad fortune of talking my non Disney husband into staying at The Contemporary and Wilderness Cabins right before they were updated (30 years ago) They were very worn out and not great stays. My husband thinks I am crazy for liking Disney hotels now.
I don't get why Fort Wilderness area is so popular. You can go to places like this anywhere out West (Yellowstone, etc.). But then, I live in the North so cabins/log cabins, etc. aren't any big deal.
The cabins are my favorite resort. In the magic but not next door to screaming kids or adults. Kitchen has a oven microwave. And we use the grill too. Plus who doesn’t wanna cruise in a golf cart
Deni is the best thing to happen to the Dis in a long time!
She fits in so seamlessly
I would say Fiasco adds a lot as well, and Drake Shagwell.
@@woooooooo9061 I feel like Fiasco is underrated. He brings a unique (and positive) perspective, always enjoy him on the show.

Gorgeous isn’t she & with Jackie too (awww!)
I just love Ryno. He's literally that "friend in my head".
What a wonderful complimentary expression. I’ll have to remember that one. ;).
I love them equally. They all look like good-hearted people.

Jim Beam Red Stag Bourbon. That drink at Epcot is one of my favorite at the parks
Ryno is a wild turkey! 😜
We agreed with waaaaay too much in this video 🤣
Lol this conversation is all over the place
Good show this week…..
How about a show about what we can do with a family and without a family on a no park day while utilizing Disney property and transportation. Assume staying at a dvc property or some other Disney on-site resort . So things to do besides the pool, that won’t break the bank.
First! Love these shows, excited for this topic!
Nice Tommy Boy reference! Soda pop in the fridge.
