Those fans turned out absolutely stunning. In my opinion this project is much better than just buying new ones since they look brand new! You did an excellent job and have inspired me to see what I could possibly do with my fans!
This turned out beautifully! I have been hating my ceiling fan in my kitchen for 5 years now but it just has been one of those projects that keeps getting pushed to the back burner so I am SO excited to have found your video! I just ordered the bulb cage things and I am totally copying your project. You are so talented, love your channel. Tyfs!
I followed your makeover step by step for three fans in our house (except using gray for the blades instead of tan). I had just enough of all the supplies to do all three so the price per fan was amazing. Just needed the light cages for the others. I love them!
Wow I would have never thought of doing this. I’ve been considering getting new fans but haven’t had the extra money to do that. Thanks for giving us some new inspiration. Love how yours turned out.
Good for you!!! And the fact you’re doing the work while Finn is napping is incredible! I followed the whole “while baby sleeps, Mommy sleeps” but neither of my kids really slept more than a couple hours. They wanted to be with us so I did need to sleep when they did. So pat on the newer mom back for making use of your time wisely. I’m trying to fit in new crafts here n there when my kids are done school, which isn’t super long. I have a five yr old son and almost 9 yr old daughter. They like to help me decorate and they’re always the first to notice when I change something ❤️ So they are really the ones I decorate holidays and seasons for now. Once they don’t care then I’ll do exactly what I want but I decorate for them: bright colors, animals etc. Kids rule the house and it’s not a bad thing if you don’t let it be but knowing I’m getting ready for Santa or the Easter Bunny or Halloween makes them so super into whatever holiday it is and that feeling you get as a Mom is priceless!
I did this about a year ago to my ceiling fan but I painted mine all black . Our home Depot sells the light covers for a lot more . I wanted the same ones but did want to pay the money . Yours is very nice .
I wanted to let you know that I've done this to my ceiling fan after watching your video 3 months ago. My light covers came in from Maynards,(LOVE THEM), and the project was pretty easy and fun. We love it so much we're doing our guest bathroom lights now. Not a ceiling fan, but the covers work with the vanity lights. Thank you so much again!!!!!
i have ceiling fans in basically every room in my house. They are close to 20 years old. basic white.. and outdated.. I've been looking at them trying to figure out how to update them and not have to replace them.. this is an awesome video and cant wait to transform my fans!! thank you!!
What an awesome idea! We are renovating an older home for our forever home and the ceiling fans are a hot mess! Thank you for this inspiration! I can't wait to do this!
Wow, I wouldn't have known this could have been done, or ever thought to do something like this! I would have sworn you got new fans. It's amazing! Fans are expensive, some of the farmhouse ones go for over $300 a piece! You did yours for $30 each, I'm so blown away and I so love the results. You so rock! Hugs, Brenda
wow!! I have never seen anyone do this and it is amazing!! I love it. I know everybody is going to follow after you!! My son and his family just bought a house and I cannot wait to show him a picture and do it for him!!!
I love how these turned out. I hate our ceiling fans and have even considered just removing them all together, but they do play a key role in circulating air when our Kansas summer temps reach 104+ degrees. Thank you for the inspiration. I can’t wait to see what I come up with to transpire mine.
Your fan looks amazing. I think I need to do this to my fan. I have been wanting to replace it, but havent found any fans that I like. This is perfect!! Thank you for sharing! I am so excited to do this!!
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful reuse/recycle idea! My fan is in a stairwell and the blades had been cut down to fit. Over the years styles have changed and I have wanted to update the fan. Knowing I couldn't reach it or afford to put up a new fan-after seeing your video I am feeling renewed myself!💛
“Omg” I LOVE this!!!! I’m into the industrial farmhouse look and coming across this tutorial cld not have come at a better time!! Simply “AH-MAY-ZING” !! Thanks for the idea 😉
oh thank you! I have been SOOO wanting to do this but kept seeing people take down the entire fan and that scared me. Soooo glad to see that this is something I can easily do with it still on the ceiling! Come spring I am so doing this!
Currently updating my home to Farm Style and I' am on my 5th room , the living room. Planning on updating my ceiling fan this way. I love chalk paint and distressing. I love the colors you used to update yours. I may do mine with a gray . Thank you for sharing yours !
What a makeover! Beautiful! When my husband and I were first married we had a white ceiling fan in one room. I painted the blades in his nascar driver's colors complete with emblems. He was upset when he saw it thinking I had spent alot of money to buy it. Think it was my first dupe!
I just did the same thing to my ceiling fans last week so seeing this video made me so excited and solidified that I made the right decision!! 🤣🤣 I love them, great job!!!
Great job Whitney on the ceiling fan!!!!!!! I love it!! I have a couple fans from the 90's and they definitely need an update!! This is a must do!!! Thanks for sharing!! Stay safe!
I’ve wanted to do this exact look for about a year. Yours looks amazing. I love the info about Home Depot and Menards. I had found some on Amazon; they were much more expensive. I can’t wait to show this video to my husband . 😀 I know he is going to be thrilled! 😁 I hope you have a very happy first Mother’s Day.
I cannot wait to try this! I have a shiny white fan with bright gold trim in my kitchen. UGH!! You made this look so easy! I'm a central Illinois (Peoria area) follower. I enjoy all of your videos and have borrowed several of your ideas. Thank you for your inspiring me and congratulations on your sweet baby boy!
I think this idea is so cool. I’m going to try it in my den but I think l will use the clear Edison style bulb in it. Thanks again for the great idea my friend.
That would be awesome! My husband isn’t a huge fan of that look so we compromised and used a traditional bulb with a more orange instead of white light 😊
I absolutely love the fan❤️ I have the exact one in my dining room. I’m so inspired to do mine. I only hope that I’m able to paint the fan blades as good as you did.
Wow these came out AWESOME!!! They look beautiful. If I had ceiling fans I would totally do this. Your Hutch looks similar to mine. I just redid mine all white with antique wax on the counterpart. Love it.
I’ve been wanting to do my fans for a while now and I’m so happy you made this video. So glad to know it’s not as hard as I thought it would be and I loveee how yours came out!
Omg....I love love love this video. Thank you so much for posting. I have been looking to buy new fans for the same reason you were. Now I can DIY them. I am so excited. Keep crafting you are so talented :)
PA was just extended to end of June as well. My little town didn’t have any cases reported, but there was a few near by. It’s funny though because the state right next to us was just opened back up.
What a clever diy, this is fabulous!!!!!! New to your channel suggested by my daughter, Misty @ Queen Beez Vintage ! Can't wait to binge watch, so thank you to her, and thank you for SHARING !!!!!!:-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
I love this so much!!!!! I don't like my ceiling fan in the family room,(pretty much like yours), and with all the other things we are doing, new roof, new central air, a new light wasn't happening. i just ordered the light covers. Thanks so much for sharing Maynards with us. I've never heard of this store. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing, and for inspiring me. I'm sooo excited!!! New sub, and looking forward to seeing more.
I’m definitely inspired!! This would look even better with clear glass bulbs rather than frosted. I’ve got 3 fans that I don’t want to spend money to replace … all three totally different styles. Do you have any update on how these have held up to cleaning?

Yay! You will love them. Mine have held up super well!
You’re talented with ceiling fans by customizing them
Thanks for showing each step. I like the brush painting of the "fixed" portion of the fan. No need to remove the whole fan assembly to paint it!
I followed your makeover step by step for three fans in our house (except using gray for the blades instead of tan). I had just enough of all the supplies to do all three so the price per fan was amazing. Just needed the light cages for the others. I love them!
That’s awesome! So glad to hear this video was helpful!

I totally can relate, they can be SO expensive!!
These came out awesome Whitney!! So happy for you. Doesn’t it feel great to just look at something beautiful you created or transformed?!?! Great job!
Yes! I feels so good. I’ve been looking at them and thinking “dang I did good” 🤣

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who has encountered paint that has gone bad!
You are not alone!
Girl, I am going to do this! The fans in our house are brass and one is a weird green color. It looks so simple and made a humongous difference. Tfs!
The weird green is called verde
WOW- beautiful transformation. The fans look brand new and so stylish! Your paint/stain technique makes the blades look like wood.

I showed this to hubby. Another fan will be going up in the kitchen. Want to paint it before putting it up. I love this!!
I'm doing this tomorrow. I think I'm going to use Edison bulbs. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely LOVE this!!! I don't have ceiling fans ... but I do have light fixtures that I can update!! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!!
What an awesome idea! We are renovating an older home for our forever home and the ceiling fans are a hot mess! Thank you for this inspiration! I can't wait to do this!

👏🏽🙌🏽 I’ve watched this twice already! So doing this! Thanks for the easy/quick tutorial 👏🏽🙌🏽
Definitely had to do a double take!! Looks amazing!!

Those turned out so cute. I love the bulb guards.
Great job!! Looks awesome! You NEED Edison bulbs in that! That is a game changer will add so much awesomeness to your light! Thanks for sharing!
I made a compromise with my husband, he's not an Edison bulb fan - but they would look great!
What a makeover! Beautiful! When my husband and I were first married we had a white ceiling fan in one room. I painted the blades in his nascar driver's colors complete with emblems. He was upset when he saw it thinking I had spent alot of money to buy it. Think it was my first dupe!
What a nice compliment for a crafter! 🙌🏼
Just seen this on UA-cam and I love it. I’m gonna be trying it. Thank you.
Have fun!
We bought new fans because ours needed to be replaced. But this gives me some many different ideas on how to redo then now. Thank you.
I just did the same thing to my ceiling fans last week so seeing this video made me so excited and solidified that I made the right decision!! 🤣🤣 I love them, great job!!!

Wow 🤩!! Incredible what some little touches here and there can do. Thanks for sharing
LOVE THIS! Edison style bulbs are pricey, but I think they would be fabulous in this!
Totally! My husband isn’t a fan of Edison bulbs so we compromised on this project. I can’t hijack the whole house 🤣
Love the light
Wow so very different! Great job! Looks so nice.😊😊😘😘
Absolutely gorgeous Whitney definitely going to do this had no idea you could purchase those separate love your ideas thanks
Led Edison style bulbs would make this look 1,000,000 times better but it looks great!
Such a great idea!! I might have to try this in my master bedroom.
I absolutely LOVE this!!! I have to do mine now!
I’ve wanted to do this exact look for about a year. Yours looks amazing. I love the info about Home Depot and Menards. I had found some on Amazon; they were much more expensive. I can’t wait to show this video to my husband

Oh my goodness...this is an awesome transformation! This will definitely be on my list of things to diy.
I absolutely love the fan❤️ I have the exact one in my dining room. I’m so inspired to do mine. I only hope that I’m able to paint the fan blades as good as you did.
The gel stain part is super easy! Just make sure you do long strokes from end to end, that’s how it looks like wood 😊

Oh my goodness Whit that fan is so beautiful. I love it. I'm definitely going to do this. I hate all the fans in my house.
I hit that point too 🤣
Yep! I’ll be doing this.
PA was just extended to end of June as well. My little town didn’t have any cases reported, but there was a few near by. It’s funny though because the state right next to us was just opened back up.
I hope we can all get out soon!
How you're able to do that AND take care of your little one...you are incredible!!! 💖💖💖
His daddy helped by taking care of him and helping me get them done 😊 he makes it possible ♥️
Looks nice! I'd also use edison bulbs.
Love this so much, cant wait to do this to mine.

The fans look great!

Love it! I'm starting mine today!

OMGosh these look so good!!! We're about to start remodeling, which I'm dreading, but I may have to steal this fan idea 😍
Please do steal it 💕
I’m definitely inspired!! This would look even better with clear glass bulbs rather than frosted.
I’ve got 3 fans that I don’t want to spend money to replace … all three totally different styles. Do you have any update on how these have held up to cleaning?
