I’m nothing more than an aviation buff who works in a wholly unrelated field…but that near-minimums approach was incredibly presented with amazing videography. Honestly probably my favorite Cockpit Casual content so far. Thank you for this (and everything)!
@@CockpitCasualgood to see you posting again. Covid vids with the whole team were excellently narrated and were great “stories” of the entire trip. Would have been nice to have the camera view for this video in the jump seat between you both (on the wall behind?) Then we could see all your inputs, FMS, pilot/yoke, the pedestal, TR’s being thrown out.. But I also validate any intentions to keep the YT community out of your comments section admonishing you about your technique CRM, and so forth. Good to be on the nose with the camera. Great if camera was more aft to get the entire picture. JAL work ethics on point. You weren’t lying.
@@CockpitCasual I love that you spoke about the airline pilot world, where they are familiar with airports they land on... I think you guys probably love your part as well; all the different destinations, and aircrafts that you get to put your hands on! Not to mention, flying a giant 767 into uncontrolled airport like the good old flight school days flying Cessna 172
I am Japanese, but this was the first time I learned that retired JAL aircraft have a second life in this way. I would like to continue watching this UA-cam video.🎉🙏🙏
This is the type of video that I WANT to watch. Cockpit Casual is educational, entertaining and, honestly, fascinating for those of us who love aviation. I love all the insider info, the tips learned from experience, that you see landing in difficult situations as a challenge that you train for. You show us, with each episode, the investment you make not only financially but intellectually.... just really great role models for teens coming up to see that with education comes adventure and, ideally, a career you enjoy. Thank you yet again for another great video.
No better way to showcase, what Nomadic Aviation Group is all about - professionalism to the highest degree plus fun and laughter even during the dark days of the pandemic, and oh yes a bit of tourism and gourmet food thrown in. Giordano Senior's music brilliant as always. I am absolutely over the moon to receive my fix of Cockpit Casual so early in the tear. Hopefully, many more episodes to follow during 2025. Thank you Steve and Bob for taking us along.
I absolutely love these films you put together. I live through you vicariously, the shots, the travel, the narration, the lifestyle. Know that your hard work is much appreciated and I look forward to every video you release.
The quality of these videos is absolutely outstanding! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this channel a couple of months ago-it's been such a great find! Keep up the amazing work!
Great storytelling, music, cinematography, airplanes, foreign destinations, humor and just enough aviation geekiness to make this a perfect escape. Thank you.
I scarcely ever make a comment on UA-cam. And I don’t have anything to say that many others have not already said. But I can’t stop myself: this series is a marvel! Thanks 😊
Always great to get the inside track on the life of the non-commercial pilots flying the heavies. Sat here with my Bushmills learning a great deal. Well done guys, entertaining and educational!
This is really better than watching normal TV or going to the movies - its just so well done, two great guys loving what they do and terrific aviation insights, I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS!! Thanks so much for uploading, already looking forward to the next one. PLUS the music is sensational!
Amazing to have that big plane all to yourself. Nobody else on board. So peaceful at night over the Pacific at 37k feet. I could fall asleep. Great video.
Mr. Giordano, I LOVE your videos brother. My only wish being they were longer and more of them. Keep them coming Sir. I'm a huge fan, so thank you for posting.
This is my first ever comment on youtube and I was captivated for the entire 35 minutes. I love how you showed behind the scenes and kept it real and badass. I'm from Japan and I began my PPL last summer at Vancouver while going to university. My flight lesson was cancelled ten times in a rows for poor weather, and unpredictability and patience is real. Glad you enjoyed your time in Tokyo + love your father's jazz!
I’m an aviation nerd and when you and Bobs vids show up in my feed, I could be having the shittiest day but it becomes great! Frickin AWESOME content! Thanks fellas!
What a great surprise to see another Cockpit Casual episode! Thanks so much Steve for taking the time to put together such well crafted stories for our enjoyment, on top of your busy schedule!
Steve and team, this content just has it all. World class professionals, compelling narrative, wonderful music, and outstanding videography. These videos will stand the test of time and serve as a wonderful insight into a lesser-known industry within aviation. Super thankful for your efforts to produce these projects and wish you and Nomadic the best for 2025.
Yes yes yes!! Nothing but great content. The months long wait, constantly checking in on the channel, to finally a great piece of entertainment! Keep up the good work Steve.
Love the videos! Keep them coming! Couldn’t keep myself from cracking up when you visited the E&E bay. I spend lots of time in E&E bays as a AMT but never imagined a pilot going to the E&E bay in flight😂
Great stuff. Miss my days flying MAC/AMC cargo all over the world. If the casual observer only knew how tough this is on the body. Keep the great content coming. Love it.
Best way to start the new year. My favorite channel ever to watch with a beer. Cheers guys, I hope your year is full of luck and prosperity. Godspeed, clear skies and tailwinds.
Once again, the narrating was informative, easy to listen to and so on point, the best on youtube hand down. Also as a Mooney driver I appreciate the real time takeoff and landings. I will say a wing view or full cockpit view would be awesome to see. Great video once again Steve!
That NP approach to near minimums gave me goosebumps and the fact we could hear you guys communicate during the sequence was very educational! Love your content since day one keep it coming
Man, that was a TIGHT approach. Gave me chills when you landed it smoothly on the markers like it was nothing. As always, superb music, editing and good-taste. Thank you for expressing what you do.
Old school American story telling. Too cool. Commentary that's straight out of the pages of a classic American novel ... like ... well, pages of a Giordano, in fact. You gents always do it in style. ... And that jazz was just perfect. Sure know how to put a fine film together. Regards, from YSSY country.
Yet again Steve and Bob blow every other aviation channel with there video diaries, so well put together and has me glued to the screen, again chaps super stuff and thanks.
Another great episode Steve! This series of videos are like films from a great film series, and always a joy to watch! Especially when they feature aircraft like this 767, whose cockpit I was happy to see in a rather original state, with the CRTs, the analogue instruments and the analogue MCP 😁... I really like these older aircraft, even though most of them were built before I was born...😅 So yeah, another great installment, and really looking forward to the next one!! Wishing you guys Safe Flights and Happy Landings from Spain! Adam
Thanks for another cockpit casuals fix Steve, well worth the wait, always love seeing yours & Bob's travels, you narrate them so perfectly & the music goes so well, can't wait for the next Nomadic adventure.
First time watching after following you on social media for months, and you didn’t disappoint. You two are a blast! Great sense of humour and nice videotaping.
steve another great video story. You make the ferry story come alive and your music is top notch to sit back and listen to. looking forward to more of them.
Great episode with that turn-back-the-clock to a unique time feel to it. Can’t help but compare that catering to your usual cold pizzas. Nice upgrade!👍🏻
Great work once again! Always love watching your videos. On your second flight out of GTF I said to myself that's a Chinook arch so it must be windy and your little nugget of a video at the end confirmed that!
Ive been looking so forward to this video!!! I realize video production isn't your primary job, Steve, but we are all hanging on waiting for your next video!!! thanks for allowing us into your world!!!
Haven’t been this happy in the last 3 months. Can’t wait.

Liked before I even started watching. This is the ONLY UA-cam series that accurately portrays our job. No bullshit influencer glamour.
