And then if they see 3+ instead of... e or whatever basically they know that’s the game to get for their child. You’re Problably used to e and stuff but I think having stuff like 3+ 7+ 12+ 16+ 18+ makes more sense for what it’s trying to do.

Well, a problem with this is that you lose boost energy much faster than normal so it’s actually advantageous to spam it. Although, I never found the special stages themselves as difficult as getting to it as I only ever failed special stage 3
I uhh, I actually 100%'d this game. Still have the save, it took me around 60-70 hours. A-rank on every stage with every team. I got real gud at the casino and special stages. I uhh, remember liking this game a lot back then.

All you have to do to beat those mini-games is switch to speed formation when the game tries to switch to the other two. At that point the game assumes you are in the slower formations and emerald goes much slower, making it easy to catch up to with sonic. At least that's what I remember doing anyway...

KataWolf It's also why you do it while there's those energy filling orbs around (especially the shiny red star orbs), which will help you keep your gauge there, while accelerating to higher speeds to catch the Chaos Emerald.
Sonic Team seems to have a problem with sticking to a formula in general. The only times they've used one are with Sonic 1-3 and Adventure 1 and 2. Other than that, they just throw everything at the wall and don't even seem to care what sticks.

Sonic Heroes is probably one of my most nostalgic games ever the others being Pokémon Leaf Green, Mario Kart DS and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness as those games got me into those franchises. I really hope that SEGA will make Sonic Heroes 2 in the near distance future as it brought so much to Sonic Franchise and is one of my favourite Sonic games of all time! Also, I unfortunately played Sonic Heroes on the PS2 and managed to 100% each teams story but to this day, I still haven’t completed the final boss after all these years because of the grind and pain stacking process of trying to find the key to the special stage, trying to not get hit once as that will make the key disappear and completing the special stage and collect the Chaos Emerald by avoiding bombs and mashing the boost button while at the same time, trying to handle the slippery controls that the PS2 version had and was the reason why the GameCube version was far better.
Heros 2 would be great, but it's gotten a pretty mixed response from fans. Adventure 3 is more likely, especially after the whole Sonic Forces debocle.
Okay Caddy playing with Stan is the most adorable thing. Stan trying to push Caddy down the stairs especially was adorable. I imagine Stan saying “It’s okay dad I’ll help you down the stairs!”
This is why while there’s a part of me that likes Sonic Heroes for its teams (except for Rose, we’ll get to Team Rose even though Cream and Cheese are epic including in this game, the rest kinda put me off, especially), Amy Rose pissed me off to much for me to consider it anywhere near the best Sonic game (up to the ranks of Sonic 3 & Knuckles).
It gets worse if you look at the comics. Amy was 8 and wished to become 12. So let's age them all up the same number of years to make Amy and Sonic adults. So Amy is now 18 and Sonic now 21 Except according to the (thankfully non canon) Archie comics, Amy would be 18, but mentally 14
I love this game so much, if you think it's really that bad (outside of problems with the level design of teams dark and chaotix) try the PC version, it gets rid of almost all of the gameplay problems like the clipping and slippery controls, even the special stages are great! On top of that, it's not even that graphic intensive The only problem is you basically have to bootleg it, its way too hard to find legally

I had it on gamecube, but admittedly, it wasn't my favorite. I enjoyed Sonic Adventure DX and Adventure 2 Battle far more. Ninja edit: holy fuck Caddy, the grahpics are even better than I remembered.

False, you actually go faster, not slightly but WAY faster by holding it down. It's just really poorly conveyed, since the jittery camera when you're mashing makes it seem like you go faster, tho it's not true.
Sigmatic Doc All that is true, however from what I remember it's actually chews through your boost gauge much quicker than mashing. What I did was before level 1 or 2, I would mash the button then after those thresholds I'd hold down the button. Also, Special Stage 3 is the hardest one in the game. Fuck that one.
I adore Sonic Heroes, it's one of the biggest games from my childhood. I can't deny it though, those bonus stages are H E L L. And I played the PS2 version!! It's SO MUCH WORSE on the PS2 than the GameCube.

You actually are supposed to hold it down like grinding or boosting in Sonic Generations. The game doesn't really explain it THAT well (most people don't know it) but it makes the emeralds a joke. The problem is for stuff like Boosting in Special Stages or Grinding on rails, they show the button being mashed instead of being held like it should. Lmao. I mean, I knew to hold it with the grinding in particular because I played SA2 first. But for Boosting in Special Stages, that took a year or two.
Really, everyone knows people called it, the first bad Sonic game. The controls were weird, the game focused on fighting over speed, the game was really glitchy, Chaotix just wasn't fun to play, some stages lasted 15-20 minutes, and accessing the final ending involved looking in every nook and cranny to find a key and hope that you can make it to the end without getting hurt and hoping you get the emerald in the bonus stage or you have to replay the stage and repeat.
You're supposed to HOLD the dash button, not spam it, during the special stages. That doesn't fully redeem it but it's not nearly as bad as people think it is.

Mashing conserves energy far better than holding down the button. Especially since holding drains the whole gague in a couple of seconds.
Also, the speed character's wind attack is great for team battles.
IT cost more energy, but if you get enough skill can you get trough the missions without ever releasing the button.

He probably won't review Dalmatians 2. It's literally the exact same thing as Dalmatians 3, but on PS1. Most of the Phoenix "games" with larger sequel numbers on PS2 are just re-releases of their PS1 "games".
I had it on gamecube, but admittedly, it wasn't my favorite. I enjoyed Sonic Adventure DX and Adventure 2 Battle far more.

Sonic Heroes was _my_ first Sonic game, and it is still my favorite Sonic to this day. (And this was the PS2 version I played, and I actually love that version, come at me if you will)

False, you actually go faster, not slightly but WAY faster by holding it down. It's just really poorly conveyed, since the jittery camera when you're mashing makes it seem like you go faster, tho it's not true.
Sigmatic Doc All that is true, however from what I remember it's actually chews through your boost gauge much quicker than mashing. What I did was before level 1 or 2, I would mash the button then after those thresholds I'd hold down the button.
Also, Special Stage 3 is the hardest one in the game. Fuck that one.

I adore Sonic Heroes, it's one of the biggest games from my childhood. I can't deny it though, those bonus stages are H E L L. And I played the PS2 version!! It's SO MUCH WORSE on the PS2 than the GameCube.
I met Johnny Gioeli at a 'Summer of Sonic' event in London last year. He & Jun Senoue performed a concert there too Singing all the known Sonic Songs.
Hope I'm not sounding like THAT guy but, Actually, you don't have to spam the B button to boost in the Special Stages. You actually are supposed to hold it down like grinding or boosting in Sonic Generations.
The game doesn't really explain it THAT well (most people don't know it) but it makes the emeralds a joke.

This... is the Sonic game I grew up on. Now that I'm older I can tell you it's not as good as I thought it once was back then.
Acceptable Name Same, it made me horny because of the music and I was left with Sonic blue balls when I revisited it.
Really, everyone knows people called it, the first bad Sonic game. The controls were weird, the game focused on fighting over speed, the game was really glitchy, Chaotix just wasn't fun to play, some stages lasted 15-20 minutes, and accessing the final ending involved looking in every nook and cranny to find a key and hope that you can make it to the end without getting hurt and hoping you get the emerald in the bonus stage or you have to replay the stage and repeat.

wouldn't it make more sense, if you shoot the game first and then salvage it? you know, like it has to suffer but after that it can go to gameheaven. like it is now, you are very sadistic, basicaly opening the gates to paradise for a moment just to shoot it anyway. it's arguably worse than a normal slaughter
