Yes, the publisher thought American kids were too stupid to know what "Philosopher's Stone" meant and figured they'd buy it up with a name tweak. To be fair, HP publishers also released the books with variant covers so adults wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen reading them. That is a thing that happened too.
So that's the real reason? I was thinking it was just contraversy in regards to alchemy, but I guess thinking people in the US are idiots works to. I mean every other country seems to think less of the US lol.

The PS2 one annoys me so much, mainly because it is just a clone of the PS2 Chamber of Secrets (it came out after). Same for the PS1 version of the Chamber of Secrets, just a copy of this one, the first of many joint releases spanning different console generations 😂 just no effort whatsoever was made, even had the same Hagrid abandoning Harry in Diagon Alley in both the PS1 games and the annoying sneaking parts in the PS2 ones

You neglected to mention the best part about broomstick flying in this game: if you fly too close to Madame Hooch, she'll yell "Ohhhhh!" like an old woman trying not to fall. It was the funniest thing I've ever heard in a game.
This was MY CHILDHOOD. We owned the first and second games on both PC and PlayStation (we used the PS2 bc our PS1 broke when we first got it). It used to be a family event to hook it up on our big TV and watch our parents each have turns playing the PlayStation games while my brother and I played the PC ones. I remember in the 2nd when I had to fight the Basilisk, but I was on about half a lightning bolt of health, but every time you die fighting it, you respawn right in that room, no potions or chocolate frogs so I could either restart bc I hadn't remembered to save or manage. 6 year old me was so freaking proud for managing to kill it

Because the game never progressed past that point, we'd have to load the save and beat Voldemort again. Thus we could never technically beat the game.
That's what happens in the game lol, it's not a glitch. I just 100%ed the game yesterday and it does that. It's to show that Voldemort is still alive and the story doesn't end there. They were already working on the sequel too, a more detailed game using most of the same assets and models.

Considering you can beat the game in a day with ease, Caddy playing an hour is in no way surprising. Him doing the bare minimum is what I'd expect by this point in his career
This is easily my favorite Caddicarus video. Also, I'm convinced that Hayride looks the way it does because it killed the real Hagrid and is wearing his skin.
We never actually owned the second game and we weren't able to get through too much of it when we rented it from the video store, so my brother and I haven't seen a whole lot of it. Might have to pop on over to Ebay and pick up a copy.
I loved this game so much growing up. Seeing the models now made me realize how far graphics have come and how forgiving I was in return for anything Harry Potter related.
I almost pissed myself laughing throughout the whole video. I love and still play this game and can't imagine to not have it near to play. Very good quality content, thank you.
I personally like how fast paced and ever changing this game is. I like when games have a variety of different things to do rather than doing the same basic controls for a period of time. I really like how you edit your videos as well, your awesome caddicarus! Hope your doing good in meantime with your channel and your life and stuff! :v
I personally enjoy how it tweaks the Brits that they called the book/movie "Sorcerer's Stone" in some other regions (not just America). "What is it with you Americans not calling it Philosopher's Stone??!!??" as if we had anything to do with naming the friggin' thing. 😅
(During the coronavirus) I just want to thank you for making this video, a few years ago. Being off work ill and self quarintined, I have been absolutely bored and down in the dumps, but this video has had me in absolute stitches and I can't thank you enough for brining a bit of sunshine to these pre apocalyptic grey days :D x
The PC version of this game was actually pretty good. Along with the PC version for the next two. This was back when they were actually entirely different games then the console versions. That stopped with Goblet of Fire along with my enjoyment of the games. haha
I loved the PC version of the game, still remember the nightmares I had as a kid during the parts where you had to avoid Filch... that f**king cat was my bane...
Taloscal haha. Right? The soundtrack is still super memorable for me as well. And spending time just running around casting Alahamora on portraits hoping to find a secret room.
That game is a nostalgia bomb for me. I remember just combing the walls of every room and cave for secret doors. (Though some of the Glitches with the levitation blocks were annoying)
Honestly, I prefer the philosophers stone over the sorcerers stone, but that's mainly because I watched fullmetal alchemist brotherhood so many times and read all the Harry Potter books

Harry Potter and Death
'Secret Bird Club' :')
Harry Potter and Death is easily the best name for book 7 I've ever seen.
Caddy shocked by bad models
5:23 - Dumblesloth
6:07 - Fred and George
6:58 - Wrong Weasley
7:09 - Bobby Malfoy
8:20 - Susan Longbottom
15:03 - Hayride
16:36 - That wired portrait
16:51 - Snot and Voldenope
6:07 thats Gred and Forge.
I love how Caddy shuffles across the floor with the broomstick in between his legs simulating flying.
Underrated comment. That bit is stupidly hilarious.
Wha... you played for an hour, come on caddy :(
I played and beat this game when I was like 10. I barely remember any of it though, so I wish he'd finished it. The only way I know it's the same game is because of the minigames, the health bar, the pause menu, the jumping, and the knockback jinx. I've forgotten everything else.
I remember the smell of the room when I played it though, for some reason... I feel like it was on Christmas at my grandma's.
Considering you can beat the game in a day with ease, Caddy playing an hour is in no way surprising. Him doing the bare minimum is what I'd expect by this point in his career
@@twofacetoo75 some games are really easy to beat. I remember beating Cars on GameCube in around 7 or 8 hours.
The 2000's nostalgia for this game is real.
Agreed. My first video game for christmas 2001 at the age of 6. * _ *
15:50 oh my jabeesus gibblewanking nutjabber I replayed that like 30 times
TheJege12 There's actually a ten hour version of that on loop on UA-cam last time I checked.
Joshua Wood oh hell yeah xD
A Monty Python parody of Harry Potter...
... Damn it, now I want to see that!
This is easily my favorite Caddicarus video. Also, I'm convinced that Hayride looks the way it does because it killed the real Hagrid and is wearing his skin.
Whoa a young brit that hasn't read the Harry Potter books? What kind of _anarchy in the UK_ is this
What's the point when the films exist?
J.J. the books are fairly different from the movies, but its still the most accurate and best movie adaptation of a book ive seen
I'm British and I don't like Harry Potter, I'm just here for Caddy.
Your future dream is a shopping scheme
I've heard The Outsiders is an accurate movie adaptation
8:24 Personally, Neville looks like how the Happy Mask Salesman would as a child.
Man, his double time is awesome!
He should become a Rapper.
John Cena you mean a *Parappa* Right?
Next you mean a Pappy Rappy
John Cena wait who said that!!
I don’t see anyone O-O
Say all right!
Caddy rappy!!!
12:30 was my favorite part, had me dying of laughter cause how smooth it was
Every time I see PS1 Hagrid, I am reminded of CallMeKevins play through of those games-
A BEAN!
One of my favorite PS1 games even though I still prefer PS1 Chamber of Secrets more minus the mandrake part.
Potter13579 I played chamber for gamecube personally and loved it
The Pokeman 52 Chamber of Secrets was just a phenomenal game across the board regardless of what version you play on, even the handhelds were great.
We never actually owned the second game and we weren't able to get through too much of it when we rented it from the video store, so my brother and I haven't seen a whole lot of it. Might have to pop on over to Ebay and pick up a copy.
Seriously, Caddicarus _ALWAYS_ makes me laugh. His sense of humor and comedic timing always has me feeling pain on my sides from intense laughter!
yea
I loved this game so much growing up. Seeing the models now made me realize how far graphics have come and how forgiving I was in return for anything Harry Potter related.
14:19 the flight of the Valkyries
LISTEN HARRY YOU’RE GOING TO GO TO HOGWARTS AND DO SPELLS AND SHIET!
Derptank AND YOU'rE GONNA BE FUCKING *P L E A S E D* ABOUT IT
Yeah dew it!!!
IM A WHUT
daddy caddy is always a delight. we seriously need a compilation of story time with daddy caddy.
Good lord, Hagrid looks like the Groke's balding husband!
Thank you for that mental image
@@gvendurst
You're welcome. :>
At least she managed to find a husband, that's pretty sweet actually.
Still the best character in the game
The combination of Hagrid's face and Caddy making him say "Sorcerer!" is so funny!
I almost pissed myself laughing throughout the whole video. I love and still play this game and can't imagine to not have it near to play. Very good quality content, thank you.
Dumbledore looks more like Chewbacca to me.
Now that you say that, that makes sense
Dumbledore doing a Wookie roar would be hilarious.
I personally like how fast paced and ever changing this game is. I like when games have a variety of different things to do rather than doing the same basic controls for a period of time. I really like how you edit your videos as well, your awesome caddicarus! Hope your doing good in meantime with your channel and your life and stuff! :v
That back and forth at 1:16 slays me every time
I personally enjoy how it tweaks the Brits that they called the book/movie "Sorcerer's Stone" in some other regions (not just America).
"Have you ever heard of Chinese Burns? Well, I'll tear your arms off."
I just spat my tea everywhere.
Ps1 Hagrid looks like his head is melting.
5:55)
"BY THE WAY, *DON'T DIE!"*
No promises
Harry:it's overwatch
Hagrid:yes it's a blizzard game Harry
Easily one of the best videos in the tinternet. Thank you CADDY!!
i used to play these all the time yes even this game caddy you should play the ps1 version of chamber of secrets its a must try imo
There's a PS1 version of Chamber of Secrets? How? I know of the PS2 version, but PS1? O_o
Wandergirl108 I remember seeing a copy back when I lived in Alaska
It’s almost the exact same gane as the ps1 version of this game
How to settle the dispute between "Sorcerer" or "Philosopher": 1:24
12:17 hey so that’s why a Ventus uses that move when fighting Maleficent
ALL TOGETHER NOW!
*Puts Voldemort to sleep and Ars Arcanum's him with a wand*
jrhamari Yes that’s how it’s done
Ah, yes, my favorite Harry Potter character. Hayride.
8:56 Neville must be wearing D-pants from Tim and Eric.
This made me search up the sketch
I’ve not laughed this hard in a while!! Really funny episode, Caddy 🙂
I miss you so much baby
Jovan Guido wat?
Philosiphosererceraptor is fine.
Order of Phoenix was quite good but not as bizzare as first three.
That game is a nostalgia bomb for me. I remember just combing the walls of every room and cave for secret doors. (Though some of the Glitches with the levitation blocks were annoying)
I also liked the GB games of the first 3 which played like a Final Fantasy game.
6:37 I think that is lemon flavored
It would explain the faces
top 10 words spoken before disaster
number 1: "i'm excited for the fantastic beasts sequel"
10:05 okay who would watch that if it existed, it sounds like a hoot.
Carry On Hogwarts
Hagrid looks like a low poly model of heavy weapons guy from team fortress 2
You mean "Hayride"? Lol
pootis
Heh, I remember making this comment
The gameboy philosophers stone game is actually really good. It's a turn based RPG.
Whaaaaat i gotta see dat
Same as the sequel. it actually isnt to bad, if alittle difficult
This game was my childhood! I remember it taking me and my cousin like 2 hours to get past the last bit!
Honestly, I prefer the philosophers stone over the sorcerers stone, but that's mainly because I watched fullmetal alchemist brotherhood so many times and read all the Harry Potter books
Caddy looks good with glasses
My nostalgia for this game is ridiculous. I distinctly remember being terrible at the flying stages but loving almost everything about the game.
Ibrahim Hassan Same here ^^ I was terrified by the knights, Peeves and that infamous troll-bedroom-section.
It’s nearly 2022 and the Peckham joke still has me wheezing
There's a part of this game where Hagrid drags you to Diagon Alley and forces you to do his shopping for him. It's such a random and lengthy detour.
Daddy Caddy has the most soothing and creepiest voice I've ever heard.
