dope! thanks for this quick tip. Saved my life. I changed the expression to have wiggle controlled per layer instead of the same wiggle effect on a null for all my layers. It gave it more variety... but more sliders to keyframe. ;-)
Loved seeing this comment! at this point you have clearly seen both videos on mastering the wiggle so I guess at this point...you're the wiggle master!
I get setting variables to control the wiggle. But you don't even need to do that, all you have to do is type wiggle, pick whip to the freq, slider, then comma, then pick whip again to the amp slider. Done :) Also, whats the name of the Outro song
The mechanism is all presented greatly. It solved all my problems. What is funny is that the whole wiggling difference that you are fighting for in your animation is very hard to notice for me, but I'm sure that wiggling is well noticeable for you ;) . Bless :D
your tutorials are all awesome. just want to point out though you can't simply keyframe the frequency in AE. try it out for yourself and check out the post-expression graph. Dan Eberts at motionscript goes through the whole process of fixing this but I would recommend keeping it simple and only keyframing the amplitude
Hey is there a way to smoothly end the wiggle? i tried using keyframes but the animations jolt around before coming to a stop ruining the look of the animation.
i really like the way you explained everything in this video, can you make one explaining how to use masks? maybe something like masks for dummies, because i feel that way everytime i try to understand how they work lmao
Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful. I have thought about doing a deep dive into masks but I wasn't sure if there was demand for it...I will add it to my tutorial list!
Thank you! I really want to get into some character animation tutorials so this one is definitely an option. In the mean time, you can always check out the project files in description to see how the sausage was made! 😁
@@MotionXP Seriously? I downloaded the project file. It looks like a solid rig. As if some script assisted building it. A big circle as the base of the palm + paths for fingers. I can't believe simple strokes+shape layers make this figure. (and it runs so heavy on my machine. You need a seriously tank of a computer to animate such thing smoothly, with all these endless layers too...) If you ever do a tutorial on how you build & animate these rigs, please do let us know...(no hard in using scripts to speed things up)
i'm just a beginner in motion design and have not reached this level yet but i get the idea what you want to tell. thank you i'll keep this in mind
Keep at it my friend!
really a well explained tutorial, i am fairly new to the motion graphic world and didn't struggle to understand your work process. Thumbs up!
That is good to hear! Thank you
You opened my mind about after effects! thanks a lot!

Your welcome! Sometimes, going the labour intensive route is worth it for the result...nice work!
Man, this video is so much help! Thanks
Awesome! Happy to hear it!
Nice tutorial! Thanks for sharing
this is sooo helpful, thanks!
Oh right. The Master of the Wiggle. The One Who especially Mastered the Wiggle. Wiggle's Master.

That is absolutely correct!
I forgot about this song... it's great! Its called "sunny morning" by Bruno. E. Available on yt audio library!

Its all about those subtle improvments 😅
its helpfullll, gracias
Great tutorial! Thanks a lot!

I'm with you, that is why I only keyframe the amplitude!

Pickwhip a wiggle property to a slider control, should let you reduce the wiggle amount smoothly by keyframing in the slider
Great tutorial! Found your tutorial through r/aftereffects
Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
Вооооооооооооах! 😎 дякую! Tanks a lot! Very cool way to control wiggle 🔥
Keep going 💪
Thanks

amazing content
Loving your content, Amazing😍
Can you make a video on this full animation ?
Thank you! I really want to get into some character animation tutorials so this one is definitely an option. In the mean time, you can always check out the project files in description to see how the sausage was made! 😁
I love your videos, it's great!
Learnt something new🎉
Good to hear!
"Idkwhy the f*ck you'd wanna do that" had me dying lol
😄👌
We learned. We laughed. 😂
How did you rig out those characters hands / fingers? Was that done via Rubber Hose? Very nice!
They are actually just thick strokes and I just animated the path of each one and then offset each fingers animation!

Scale wiggle separate x and y? 😁
Nice!!!😊
TY
Is it possible to create a randomized wiggle?
It is random by default! Don't ask me to create a non-randomised wiggle though 😨
add a wiggle expression onto the slider controlling the wiggle !
