It's truly amazing how many negative comments there are for this idea. This is a good idea, no one was hurt, no property damage happened either so how is this not a solid tool? There was no weird flexing or twisting of the metal in any way. Soooooooo, people are bitching and moaning because the ramps didn't work like they were intended? How do you find out if your idea is going to work if you don't try? He gives a legitimate reason as to why these ramps didn't work as predicted. His reasoning makes a lot of sense as well. I agree, there isn't enough structural bracing to make comfortable to stay underneath the car on these ramps. I imagine quite a few people were hesitant about using the hydraulic car lifts that are in every automotive shops today. If I had a concrete driveway or pad when I was building custom rides I would have built something like this myself to help me work. HELL, after watching this video I may build one now to make it easier for me to work on the under carriage of my lifted Jeep, It has enough of a lift to make some things out of reach from under my Jeep but when jacked up and supported by Jack stands it's too high for me to be able to work from the top of the engine compartment. I could build a ledge that goes around the sides and front of the Jeep that could support my wheelchair and allow me to work from either the top or bottom. Great idea and definitely a great platform to upgrade or build from. Don't let these idiots make you think it's a stupid idea.
Easy fix. Add another 3ft/1m to the front of the ramp to allow you to drive a little further onto the ramp. That will move the center of gravity beyond the tipping point and you won't have to jack up the rear end. Then add safety kickstand at the rear to keep it from tipping backwards.
These ramps are a good idea when built well. As said, needs more bracing and made longer. If the pivot point is dead centre you should be able to stand on the front to rock it down the slide your blocks to hold up the rear.
Good build, but if you'd made the fulcrum a little further back, the stand would have tilted just by driving the car onto it. That would save you having to lift the back of the car manually, but I like the overall design. I'll copy it pretty much!
Problem a center part is in center of wheelbase car. When car was 50/50 distribution it work because car is on front. Ramp must be a little longer over a center of ramp point
Well I respect that they worked very hard. But the way of setting up the thing is scary! Bracing the two sides is not something optional man! Its essential!
That was painful to watch.....if you would have turn the ramps around and started from the other end you would have just drove to the tilt point and it would have leveled off.
That reminds me of a football bat! The forward legs can buckle underneath with the slightest force. And I dang sure wouldn't be under it while jacking the car up. To each their own, I guess. No disrespect intended. 👍
That sure is a very interesting idea. I've made a couple of small ramps with my everlast welder but nothing like this where it gets the entire car off the ground.
Definitely need the diagonal braces for this gauge material. I have the platforms but they are quite a bit heavier ...over 300 lbs. each. This is not a bad build but max would be 4200 lbs. or so.
EVEN WITH THE LITTLE ISSUE,THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BETTER HOMEMADE RAMP (SYSTEMS) I'VE SEEN IN THE TUBE. MOST SEDM TO BE 14 TO 20" HIGH, JUST HIGH ENOUGH TO BE TOO CLOSE IF YOU CAN GET UNDER THERE IN A ROLLING STILL AND TOO HIGH IF YOU'RE ON A CREEPES. IF YOU'RE GKNNA BE USING THIS YOU BETTER HAVE A TRAILER AND A FRIEND OF THREE,LOL! HAS ITS NOT QUITE THAT BAD. MAYBE CONSIDER CUTTING KIT INTO SECTIONS,USING ANGLE FRAME WORK AND BOOTING THE M TOGETHER. EITHER WAY,BUT THUMBS UP!! JUST MY 2¢ WORTH BEST OF LUCK!! TOO MANY OF THESE "BUILDS" ARE SKETCHY AS FRIGGGGG!!
not sure how practical this is, would consume an awful amount of time to set up for the smaller jobs, i,e about an hour to get it up there and all secure for an oil change which takes 10mins, also the car would have to be running and drive-able to use this ramp, no way you can push it up this!
8:12 ....having to resort to using a bottle jack or a floor jack underneath the vehicle, to lift the ramps with a 4x4 post, kinda defeats the purpose of building the ramps in the first place 😄 ....poor design, good build, just not well executed. imo. It probably would work ok for front wheel drive vehicles, like a Buick Rendezvous or a CUV, it's very front heavy for a 5,365 lb vehicle 🤔
Allow JUST ONE vertical member to begin twisting... Where's the Cross Brace to tie the 2 ramps together to keep it from flopping sideways?!!! 3 LARGE triangles, good. 2 more on the tall center legs, BETTER. IF you don't understand this, go look at auto dealers who use tall ramps. ___ RELOOKED... Random angle iron 'Leg' directions?!!! 😨 Too many cooks in the kitchen.
Malachy Fegan oook how much does the Cheapet lift cost that you can find ? ~1500€ the lift need a garage because of the elektroniks and it need atleast 25thick beton for stability .... this lift does not need anything of it and its much cheaper , i have seen much worse construktions

The lack of bracing makes these really dangerous to use! - get some triangles in there!
It should actually look like a "spider web" to help disperse the weight evenly across the structure
Tohle se mi hodně líbí.super práce pánové 😮
Vdaka, ale spravili sme chybu, treba ju spravit nizsiu aby bol najazdovy uhol mensi, menej problemov aj trapenia pre auto

Are they working on the side of the road so the ambulance can find them quicker?
it is around 40+ degrees angle, I would consider not more than 30 degrees, otherwise winch is recomended
I'd add a few diagonal braces across your center support beams so it can't fold over sideways
Good build, but if you'd made the fulcrum a little further back, the stand would have tilted just by driving the car onto it. That would save you having to lift the back of the car manually, but I like the overall design. I'll copy it pretty much!
what did the paint on your car bonnet look like after all those sparks from your grinder? not to mention your windscreen.

Vcs são de que paises
Ingenious and lethal at the same time
That was painful to watch.....if you would have turn the ramps around and started from the other end you would have just drove to the tilt point and it would have leveled off.

rebar is so easy to bend by hand. I think I'd use angle iron cross pieces under a strong mesh deck or something.
That reminds me of a football bat!
The forward legs can buckle underneath with the slightest force. And I dang sure wouldn't be under it while jacking the car up. To each their own, I guess.
No disrespect intended. 👍
Who is the electro intro music?
do you sell the plans
Nice working height, if you hate your back
That sure is a very interesting idea. I've made a couple of small ramps with my everlast welder but nothing like this where it gets the entire car off the ground.
Too low to stand up underneath the car. Too high to lay down. Can't remove the wheels. Not sure about this project
I would rather lay on my back to be honest. Weird height to work at
rolling stool. that's how alignments have been done at most above-ground alignment racks for years
Definitely need the diagonal braces for this gauge material.
I have the platforms but they are quite a bit heavier ...over 300 lbs. each.

JUST MY 2¢ WORTH
BEST OF LUCK!! TOO MANY OF THESE "BUILDS" ARE SKETCHY AS FRIGGGGG!!
I reallyenough dont think that the angle iron is strong
Too much afterthought in this plan. OMG I hope their welds are better than their design skills.
We need use this design, because we will use this ramps for other things after repair ...
Good idea but bad design.
Prototype :P
why? just make an inspection pit.
that´s something I personally wouldn´t trust my life to
Can you get strong metal for 2 cents a pound
That man was brave being under the car while jacking. The ramp looks barely strong enough.
I was going to build a set but could not find any Pinky and Perky music to play while making it
not sure how practical this is, would consume an awful amount of time to set up for the smaller jobs, i,e about an hour to get it up there and all secure for an oil change which takes 10mins, also the car would have to be running and drive-able to use this ramp, no way you can push it up this!
could u tell the me music wat was played thanks
A great easy to weld up car ramp, we built the same using this clip as a guide.
I like the part where he is sitting under the whole mess with a bottle jack.
would it have been easier if they used a pre-cut chekered plate?
Yes, but, it will be too heavy
Flawed design no x bracing to prevent collapse. Wrong dimensions. It should self tilt as the vehicle drives onto the unit.
That's a fail on so many levels. Too bad too, because all the elements are there and it's a nice working height.
Not useless. Just tweak it.
What is this ramp called
The ramp of death.😁
Song???
If you flip them over you could just drive up and on without all that tilt action
no gussets on the front piece that hodls the car up?? none anywhere!!
Best idea - an inspection pit in your garage! !
Don't do this at home folks. Trained professionals doing these highly dangerous stunts.
Very dangerous, unsafe, difficult to manoever, risk of front fall, wheels not free for wheels work, ... Just buy a car lift.
dude under the car without stands under it using a jack on top of 6 2x4s. hes probably dead now but im surprised he lived through that.
Top job boys I want to make some for me would they hold up to a landrover discovery
Blody hell mate you need a full day to lift your car what about fixing it
Clutch, engine suspentions and others
LOL 😹
@jack goblar i have never seen such an dumb comment its nearly amazing , did the guys show here an car repair or an build of a ramp ?
😂😂👌👌
Am I the only one thinking someone is gonna die using that shit? It looks extremely weak and poor designed but if it works for them...
good use of your imagination...BUT WOW... that design is VERY DANGEROUS. at least put some stoppers to keep you from going over the ramp.
As much as steel cost these days, and to gamble on if these would work, would keep me away.
This is definitely too much work and it's not safe
I’m not putting my old dodge Phoenix on that thing…
Szuper! Ügyesek vagytok!
Achei muito interessante! Vou fazer uma dessas pra mim!
I liked a Lot!l'm from Brasil, I Will Do It for me to!
Cool. This is something I can make myself with my powerarc welder and some time and effort. Great idea.
Mark Stevansen: How are you getting on with your build?
U finally can change that bolt now ! :)
I changed the clutch, engine suspension and others :P
Good that u have this setup than! keep up the good work
Thanks! :)
Now you can change the oil
That time i changed clutch and dual mass flywheel :)
Amazing. Really good idea. Good design prototype
amateurs... apparently there was no plan or sketch to go by. A little of physics 101 would help.
Good idea and good video. Shame about the music
These are clearly non genuine (to steep) and have no weight certification. Even damaging the cars spoiler and rear.
there is better simpler way, build a longer, that's it.
Na 100%.. pozdrav z PD:)
That’s a no for me dowg
Way too high! Way too flimsy! Way too dangerous!
True but it looks like a lot of work
Allow JUST ONE vertical member to begin twisting...

Random angle iron 'Leg' directions?!!! 😨
Too many cooks in the kitchen.
Like wrapping a 30¢ Bologna sandwich in $25 worth of aluminum foil.
🤔 mahh non capisco tutto quel lavoro per sensa senso
Buy a lift a lot easier
Malachy Fegan oook how much does the Cheapet lift cost that you can find ? ~1500€ the lift need a garage because of the elektroniks and it need atleast 25thick beton for stability .... this lift does not need anything of it and its much cheaper , i have seen much worse construktions
You really have the dog under there whiel you were first testing them that's not the brightest move
สุดยอดคับดีมากลองทำตามใด้ผลคับ
How to over complicate a simple concept 🙄🤦♂️
У шведов удобнее.
С этой много телодвижений
Entrance angle....
Good Idea 100% Execution 100% Fail.
И что эта конструкция на 89/ проц. Уже стационар добавь два три лонжерона А где идея у меня есть. Такая
Přesně takhle ne!!!!! Pod to by nevylezu, a už určitě bych na to nevjel.
martin maj haha, preco takto nie ? 😂
Dangerous job !!!
just throw them in the garden shed when the job is finished
147k
Неудачники. Не смогли с расчётами. Я не утверждаю что я бы смог. Но я и не сварщик)))
Just waiting shit to be happen...
Que mal diagramado un conglomerado de hierro.
Looks a good job that 🙈😂
Worst ramp idea ever !!!! Get a feeling jack instead
Too insane for a lube maintenance
Sorry to say this is bloody waste of time and useless... built without thinking
Albanians?
Sketchy AF
That poor little dog. More by luck than judgement that it didn't meet a messy end!
Don't worry about dog! He is big worker :P
Not much work if he catches too many flashes from the arc. Wanting to play ball under the test loading of the ramps not great. Good luck to the dog.
It stinks..🤣🤣
It's not a good height. It's to tall to lay on your back & to low to stand. Unless you're a midgit..😅
balls of brass ....... all I got to say!
I hope this wasn't made to just change the god damn oil.
hah no :D I changed clutch and engine suspension
mucho weveo
Kind of a soup sandwich.
