There really are no words to describe how majestic this piece is. Also, with this good organist, or rather the BEST organist I have ever heard, IT IS INCREDIBLE.
Hello!! Sparkling played Jonathan. Thinking about her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the longest serving Queen in the world! 70 years!!! on the Throne Amazing! With Love from the Netherlands.
I was lucky enough to watch Jonathon again today at my favourite venue the Bridgewater Hall. Even caught a glimpse of Tom filming in the gallery. Long may these concerts continue 😁🇬🇧
And this was just the encore following another superb concert of music, appropriately chosen for the Jubilee. An Occasion indeed. I wish I’d taken a flag!🇬🇧
Another beautiful patriotic song from England. Did not know. Jonathan played bravely. This photo Tom took is beautiful. The British brothers heroes of keyboards and videos. 🫡 🫡 🇬🇧 🎶🙌👍🥰
It's not even remotely Arne's score, it's a series of fanfares and preludes based on the original theme. It's not bad, but it's not what you think you were hearing.
@@ghughesarch It is absolutely Arne's original as it appears in the masque Alfred. All those 'fanfares and preludes' are in the original, which has been corrupted by nigh on to three hundred years of 'arrangements'.
@@jasonhurd4379 no, you are completely wrong. Arne's original score of 1740 is far less ornamented. The version usually performed today is based on a grander 1757 revision, but even that doesn't match what's being played here (the ornament at 27 seconds, for example, is quite different).
Mr. Scott's work on the pedal clavier is spectacular as is the rest of his performance. My, what I'd give to be able to see this live! Standing ovation!
A special thanks to Tom for getting the sound so well into my headphones in the U.S. This one might be my new favorite. Jonathan is amazing, and this Bridgewater organ is a fantastic instrument.
The English navy was perhaps the one that most contributed and stood out for the various conquests around the world. The English have a lot to be proud of. Although I sometimes think the English people were deceived by some kings in the past. But why am I saying this here?! 🤔🤐🤪 Congratulations to the strong and loyal Queen and all Brits! 🫡 🇬🇧
I love to watch you play Paul. You play from your heart and soul. I love watch your body movements as much as listening to the music. It does my soul good to hear such magnificent organs played by such a talented young man. Do you have a collection of CDs?
Oh, to be a lucky one. Thank goodness I got to enjoy this lively, fun arrangement. Here's to all my family in Surrey, and Dumfriesshire! Thank you Jonathan and Tom, great job, as usual.
My first time into Manchester for two years three months. Luxurious new train in from Marple and an excellent organ concert from Jonathan...including interesting and enthusiastic continuity comments at the microphone.
I was thinking of you at the time, from 12,000 miles away, and praying that all would go as perfectly as you would wish, with a large and appreciative audience. And, from this snippet, it seems it was accomplished !! Now, we would like to hear the rest of the concert, applause and all.
Fantastic arrangement! So stirring - so British! Jonathan should be playing this for Queen Elizabeth for her Jubilee celebration! I'd love to hear it on the organs at Chester, Ripon and several others! Very, very cool! 💗🎹🌞
A virtuoso performance. The fact that the tune itself is so well-worn disguises just how tricky this arrangement must have been to perform. Jonathan is a real virtuoso performer! Kudos too to Tom for his recording and videography.
Spectacular! God willing and nothing prevents it, I will be one of the lucky ones to enjoy the next Jonathan's lunchtime organ concert at the bridgewater hall. I'm already looking forward to the moment. Congratulations!! Enjoy your success!! 💖😘
Wish I could join.... but I am in South Africa. Jonathan is a star in my opinion. I love his brother on the piano as well. Both they make a wonderfull team!! Regards Maarten
You are an extrordinary musician. I enjoy all your performances and your brother's as well as when you perform together. Thank you for the magnificent music. Gina Dodds, Bellmore, NY USA
Glorious rendition of this patriotic gem Jonathan!! I particularly loved the smile! It sounded as if the concert was very well attended. I hope that one day I will be able to come to one of your live concerts in the future. I can't wait!! Thank you both for this timely video & I wish you many successful concerts in the future.
Marvellous as always. Dunno if you read these Jonathan, but I'd love to hear the Gordon Jacobs National Anthem some time for the Jubilee - would need decent en chamade of course 👍
Happy 70 years to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen’s knighthood is certainly due by now surely for services to music for Jonathan and Tom after this
Hear hear! Seconded!
I will drink to that idea!
Amen
And so shall it be, we pray 🙏🙏
You might like to nominate him for a Royal award. I am not from Uk so cannot do this but would support this.
Scottbrothersduo rule the world of organs!!!!
God Save The Scottbrothers!!!

Bravo to Mr Scott for returning to Arne's original score, with a minimum of 'arrangement' or rewriting. Wonderful.

Utterly superb! And perfect timing for Her Majesty's jubilee!
So great to hear an audience again

I agree! I'd love to see one of their recent concerts WITH a live audience again.
