ive plowed through almost 2 feet of snow in a ditch and car still drove mint (2013 FPIS) not so much after rolling 3 times smoking a hydro pole and tree but awesome cars. SuPER SAFE I wouldn't be alive if I wasnt in this car with reinforcements. pushbar saved me when i hit a deer going 50 and more. best bang for your buck COP CAR, FORD not chevy
Here in canada these FPU get stuck in a foot of snow. Cops hate them.. AWD system over heats and shuts down awd. Have to sit and cool down turn off and restart. 5 minutes later over heats again. Expeditions are worse after several trsnsfer cases and transmissions Ford now longer will cover under warranty even though under milegae. Mud hole yea no problem. Off road ..deep snow.. no way
Sounds like improper maintenance procedures to me, I know plenty of Canadian and Alaskan officers whose departments have had zero issues with their FPIUs. The correct maintenance must be done however, the AWD transfer case especially is picky and will fail if it is not properly maintained per Ford's recommended service intervals or if the incorrect oil is used.
Great video man! Also I just got me a 2016 FPIU my self. A while ago I'll do a video of mine here soon! Great video man keep up the awesome work!
I've always worried about the ground clearance on the FPIU, I figured it would rub like the FPISs.
Nah the FPIU sits higher

Ford calls the AWD transfer case the PTU by the way. Servicing it is a hassle and a significant number of departments neglect to perform it.
