Mr. Solomon should never have been left alone in the terminal or anywhere else.
Please know that Edmond goes by his middle name Brad. If you spot him in Cozumel please take a pic and call 911 while keeping your distance and following him as he may run. If you do interact with him please tell him that his wife Mimi and Daughter Savannah are looking for him as that could calm him down. He was a medical professional and an avid surfer, so it is possible that he continues to have the survival skills to last a week on the island on his own. Prayers for the family and thankfulness to the amazing effort by everyone on the island.
My prayer is that Edmond will be found posted up with a local family feasting on papaya and mango🥭, but sadly his family must realize that he was their sole responsibility. Hopefully they will continue to have and or receive the reaources needed to remain there to search for and hopefully find him safe❤
My prayers go out to the family of the missing man with dementia. My main question is why, knowing he has dementia, would they take him on a cruise ship to a foreign country? I can't imagine I would ever do that if my loved one had dementia. As many have said on here, you have to keep your eyes on that person every second, like you would for a young child.
You’re so correct about being aware of your surroundings and also your travel address.
Hopeful that they’ll find the missing man. I’m still at a loss as to why neither his wife nor the daughter/other family members waited for him to come out of the restroom/took turns using the restroom themselves so someone was always with him since they were well aware of his dementia condition. Why would they let him be alone at any time, in his state you have to treat him like a child (my grandfather suffered from dementia so I’m well aware of the confusion and inability to make sound decisions). Those basic precautions are taken even at home, why would they not be more careful in a place that’s foreign to him? How long were they in the restroom to the point he had time to catch a taxi?
So sad, I’m certain he is/was afraid and so confused. Prayers for this family!
Exactly my thoughts. Have the police looked at the wife to make sure she didn't conveniently lose him? Simple precautions would be common sense.
I was about to post the same!
1 should watch him while the other uses the facilities.
Or,
Use the "FAMILY RESTROOMS" that are everywhere now. Daughter could have gone to the regular restroom & the wife takes home to the " FAMILY RESTROOM".
However, I do sympathize with the dementia. My mom has it, though when had to put her in a facility, because everyone works a f/t or multiple jobs, not that we wanted to do so, but it was best.
Maybe he wanted to go missing.
His daughter wasn't on the ship. She wasn't even notified until the next day that her dad was missing at which time she flew there to help with the search.
@simplywonderful3591 there were other people who said he was sailing with his wife AND daughter. And people magazine online said he had a tracker collar on. This story is fishy.
I don't understand why both women would use the bathroom at the same time knowing that he has dementia instead of only one using the bathroom at a time so that there would be someone around to see when he would come out of the bathroom and be with him. To me that would be just like having a child use the bathroom and not having someone waiting for that child to come out.
I so agree. They were stupid to bring him on the trip but even more stupid to leave him totally unattended
@@AssassinCreep2552 I have to agree with this. People having dementia. Should never be on a cruise ship. More less another country.
This part. First thing I thought. You left your dad outside alone knowing he has dementia???
Exactly. Better yet, why get off in port? If he'd gotten lost on the ship, he could have been found eventually. My dad had dementia and even though he would have good days, we still had to alter how we lived for his safety.
It was not stupid to bring him on the cruise. Carelessness came into play when both caregivers decided to use the restroom at the same time. We can second guess and use crude remarks all we want but it is not going to solve the issue. Prayerfully he will be found safe and sound. God bless you family, and don't give up.
They left him by himself and now they think it's everyone else's emergency? Don't get me wrong, it's tragic. I feel horrible for him and them. It was a terrible mistake on their part. But why would you take someone with dementia to another country, and why would you leave them alone for even 5 seconds? This makes no sense to me. In fact. It seems sketchy.
That's what I was thinking.
I absolutely agree.
And they took him on the icon, the biggest ship in the world at that.
I've been thinking this the whole time. I used to work in a memory care facility as a CNA team lead, no way someone with severe dementia should ever go on a cruise. Their care team should have explained that to them. Then for them to be demanding all this support is wild. It is tragic but I mostly feel for him, I mean I'm thinking the worst here and he probably passed away in a very tragic way and not in the way most people would prefer to pass. In the medical field we call it a "peaceful passing" when things go the ideal way but drowning, starving/not having enough water, being hit by a car, etc. are not peaceful passings.
Exactly right.
Hoping for a positive outcome, but come on people why would you leave him unattended!!! Take turns going to bathroom and one person stay with Dad!!!
You're right. It takes 3 seconds of focus to be aware of your surroundings. At least some of these victims of the bus crash just kept walking straight as the bus slowly approached but they just didn't pay attention.
That’s the way that they drive too, with their heads up their a$$es!!!
Posting on social media will not help find him in a different country. Why didn't they keep a better eye on him. There was more than 1 person.
Ignorant statement. And this social influencer posts from Tampa bay. The majority of small shops from Tampa bay visit Cozumel every week. This is potentially thousands of extra new eyes combing the area. It’s quite relevant to post it and keep it in the media.
the whole family, including daughter, flew down to mexico & are actively searching for him with military & police. posting on socials spreads awareness; it helps more than you think
I have to laugh at the everyone continues to live their lives thing. Just like she continues to live her life while children are missing in her own city. That didn’t stop her from doing the trip
I do feel for the family , but yes to the comment of people living their life around this it’s nonsense. I am sure it’s the pain and sadness of going through this transition it’s what made it say that, and Jay you are right with your response. Prayers and hope this gentleman is fine and someone finds him or so this is what I am hoping for.
the daughter, who posted that, wasn’t even on the trip 🙄
so judgmental & so hateful when she is just saying she is hurt & it’s hard emotionally for her. that wasn’t even the full statement.
Mr Edmond should have never been left alone. Poor soul. Pray he is found.
Sorry to hear about accident and death of cruise passengers on Carnival Magic, that was the cruise ship I sailed on few months ago! Praying the man from SC is found soon 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Thanks for the updates 🛳️🛳️
The passengers in this story were on Carnival Miracle
I swear accountability is like kryptonite to some people. How are you angry that everyone else life is going on because YOU made bad life decision by bringing someone with dementia and on a cruise? Make it make sense. It's their burden to bare and no one else's. The world will continue to go on.
The family and island are on high alert with search parties and updates 24/7. I think this was just a vulnerable statement by his daughter stating how hard life is and devastating to watch life go by as she lives through this gut wrenching moment. I love the shiplife videos and appreciate his objective commentary and I think he was speaking in general. However, in the case of Brad’s daughter, and the response to the community wanting constant updates, I think she was just stating how hard it was to watch tourist/vacation/celebratory life walk by her as she was living her worst nightmare.
Thank you for talking about keeping alert about your surroundings! I'm paranoid when I'm off the ship. You are in another country! Pay attention!
Hawaii is another country?
My prayers to the family, but why did they let him out of their sight knowing his condition? Could someone have gone in there with him?
Agreed, or at a minimum stand outside the door. Poor judgment on their part. I pray for his safety
they were there, this happened in just a few seconds & (according to family) he’s really fast
It’s the same thing as a mother that turns her head for a second and her kid was snatched. The man went to the bathroom with his wife and came out a couple of seconds before her and must’ve gotten whisked away by taxi/excursion vendors. It’s awful, it happens, and it happens in a blink of an eye. They didn’t set him free blindfolded in the wild for a good time. WTH
@@Mr.greenbear literally exactly what happened. people act like they just set this man loose or something. the family are good people. and brad is a retired va nurse, truly a good person who has helped many people
@Mr.greenbear yeah and unlike a kid, nobody would've thought it odd to see a grown man go off in a cab or whatever by himself, so nobody would even notice enough to remember later that they saw him go wherever.
I agree with everyone else, if you have a loved one with dementia, they cannot be left alone, especially on a trip in unfamiliar surroundings. The fact that they’re trying to shame people for not making this their priority just shows how selfish they are. Wow.
What if this type of criticism is portrayed on little kids kidnapped?!?! Sometimes the worst case scenarios can happen within seconds. How about spreading the word on helping him get found instead of spreading judgement. SMH
@@Mr.greenbear Because it stated that they both went to the restroom and left him out there waiting. It’s not they turned his back and he was gone. I have a lot of compassion for parents whose kids slip away because they’re quick. Then the daughter posts on Facebook how everyone is going about their lives while they’re dealing with the hell of their lost father and we should all be talking about it and helping them. I’m sorry their dad went missing, but don’t shame others when people have their own lives. Last year, I had to fly home and take care of my dad who had cancer until he passed. I didn’t know he was sick, but I dealt with it. I didn’t go on social media and insist people bear my burden. How you handle stress and emergencies says a lot about the type of person you are.
Prayers for the family
You can't tell me there is zero camera footage of that man missing at the port. There are definitely cameras at the perimeter.
From what I “hear” they’ve been installing many city wide cameras for the last few weeks, but they are not all up and live yet, so the timing is very unfortunate and just missed
Cozumel is basically a jungle inside the island. Lots of overgrowth and desolate. Hope and pray that they find this gentleman soon. 🙏🏻
That's so sad 😢 about the man with dementia.
How does someone disappear from a cruise port? I can’t believe there aren’t surveillance cameras all over that area.
Why doesn't the family contract for a search dog, such as a Bloodhound) to search for their loved one?
There’s massive searches underway. If you are going to Cozumel anytime in the near future please be on watch out for a 60+ year old white male in a possibly dirty / tattered white shirt and presumably week long grey whiskers on his face.
Been a week, I would ask for a cadaver dog at this point. He may have wandered off into the jungle nearby, doubt he could have gotten far. But a cadaver dog would find him quick.
I think the family members of people with dementia should be proactive and hide an AirTag in their loved one’s shoes, especially if they are taking them someplace where they could wander off and get lost. When I first heard this story, I was surprised to hear that someone with dementia was brought on a cruise ship of all places without any way to track him.
Thank you, Justin.
Thank you for your video was very informative. Thanks for keeping us updated about Edmond. I keep praying that they find him and for those people who are hurting Hawaii prayers and my condolences to that ladies family that lost her life. Thank you.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️🛳️🦩⚓️
Thanks J. Lots of sad news today.
My parents are currently on the Carnival Miracle, I got a call from them today telling me about the tragic accident!
Listen I do feel bad for the man with dementia however the family has to take some blame in this. I’m sure most people watching this have had a family member who’s suffered from this and the first thing you learn is that you just can’t leave them alone especially in a place the is COMPLETELY unfamiliar to them. I hope he’s found safe but they have to realize that these situations don’t get resolved like you see in movies.
My Mother-In-Law is currently on the Carnival Miracle and they were at that pier and witnessed the accident. She was quite shaken up about it, but thankfully she is safe.
Thank you, Jay😊
The thing about the missing main is that he may not want to be found. He was recently diagnosed with a debilitating form of dementia. Obviously he is still independently functional because they sent him to the restroom alone. What if he decided that he didn’t want to let his friends and family see his imminent decline? What if, in a moment of his own clarity, he decided to walk away? I know, I know it’s hurtful and painful for his family, but what if?
Prayers to all those family members!
Ur right on the money! Love ur show!
Great show, as always you are the perfect professional!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Really like your videos. Very informative.
😢 this breaks my heart.
never can imagine paying for vacation and then life is over😢
As a nurse for memory loss patients I feel family’s frustration is fascinating. They are 💯 % to blame for this man being lost. TaKe accountability for your own neglect.
I was like you're frustrated at others but not yourselves when you actually left the dementia patient unattended?? That's wild
My condolences 💐 to the victims family
That's why travel insurance is very important to get. We never know what might happen
I was taught young keep your head on a swivel ❤
I think the comments by the family that everyone else is not stopping their lives to look for Edmund are just said out of trauma and fear. They are beside themselves and not thinking logically. They deserve our compassion and I'm sure in the weeks and months to come they'll understand why others did not drop what they were doing to look for him.
I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy watching your UA-cam channel you are the real deal those other guys joking and I want let you know that Ncl is the first cruise line to own a private island in the Bahamas Great stirrups cay they bought it in 1979 when they had the older ships I used to worked on the island for them keep up the good works no can come close to you thank you my brother God bless you 🙏
Wow!
RIP to the person in the bus crash!
Also,I will pray for the missing man!
God, help him get to where he needs to go so he can be found and brought home!🙏
I pray for his safe return but have any of the family return to Cozumel? I felt it was sketchy when the cab driver came forward and said he had the watch as a form of payment.
I say this with love as a long time viewer. I’d so much rather watch you talk then see all the stock videos depicting words you say.
Have they questioned the taxi more indepth about the watch
I read on google this morning Soloman may be presumed dead. I sincerely hope that's not true.
I really hope they find the elderly man I can't imagine what the family's going through. However in retrospect is not a great idea to take somebody that has a form of dementia outside of the country to a place he's not familiar with. Also if you were going to take him to a foreign place why wouldn't you have him wear some type of cellular watch or trackable tag.
Be aware. Great advice that unfortunately requires repeating and should be adhered too.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
They should check with the police/prison.
thank you for sharing brad’s story !! praying he is found quickly and safely 🤍🩷🤍🩷
Why is the shuttle bus still running when parked? I never leave a vehicle running when I park and get out of it, no matter what type of vehicle it is! My condolences!
Probably for airconditioning. I’ve been in hot countries where they keep buses running during breaks to keep the inside cool
I’ve NEVER seen a shuttle turn off the engine during loading and unloading of passengers!!!!
Maybe they need to start a new protocol if this continues! I cruise twice a year myself, so I'm familiar with this! Thru history laws change if mishaps continues!!
Situational aware is a thing.
What about crew member who jumped off holland America Rotterdam yesterday?
That other family w the 80 yr old knew from the other side of the world she was lost bc they apple tagged her. With all the things they could have done to track him they chose nothing. With dementia. And now they're mad. Sorry not sorry.
they’re not “mad,” they’re sad. he’s not 80. he’s in his 60’s.
he was a va nurse for a long time & a really good person
Seems like all the bad things happens on Carnival.
All unfortunate stories J.
The Dementia family should had a necklace, phone, ankle bracelet monitor...If you spent all that money on ICON of the seas should have invested in monitoring system. Good Luck in finding him. Its an Island
Morgue report!
Merciful God. 😢😢😢😢
They really left him unattended? Smh
Exactly. Ppl with dementia need supervision. Perhaps a cruise is not the best choice for a dementia person
Your judgment does NOTHING to help. With all honesty, what do you know about dementia or cognitive decline? The wife waited outside of the men’s restroom for him, she didn’t leave him unattended for a significant amount of time. There’s still time to hit those 3 dots and delete your comment!
My sisters mother has dementia. She frequently wonders off if she’s left unattended even for a moment. I definitely wouldn’t take a person with dementia on a cruise.
@@dearmepa1 No, she said that she used the woman's room while he went into the men's. Clearly she wasn't watching the exit. I know about dementia since I card for my grandmother with it. You can not leave them alone. They are like toddlers but worse because they have adult abilities.
@@dearmepa1 is this directed to me?
Those 2 women should not have left him alone for a minute
We can second guess and say how we wouldn't have done certain things. Well I applaud and commend everyone who knows exactly what course of action you would have taken. Only God knows what you would have done. I am not trying to put anyone down just reminding people we truly don't action we would have taken and be a little more compassionate and send up prayers and best wishes.
☮️☮️
We were on a cruise excursion (via the cruise company) and the driver of the shuttle was on his phone and not paying attention to the road. There happened to be another shuttle bus stopped in the road. We slammed into them. Mostly just banged up, but it could have been worse. Carnival did NOTHING. Well that's not true, we saw the cruise ship "doctor". I say that tongue in cheek as this man was about as much of a doctor as I am.
Jay, I have a cruise on Odyssey of the seas April 21 to Italy. Do you think there is a chance it will be canceled because of what’s going on in Israel right now?
Why would your cruise to Italy be canceled because of what's happening in Israel?
I am terribly sad that Edmond has not been found yet. I have prayer for him and his family. I wonder if they set up reward money if that would push the locals to continue looking for him.
Missing man with dementia so sad..maybe a miracle will happen…however, showing a
UA-cam actor ( girl with worried face clip) during the story is inappropriate..I don’t think you would enjoy seeing that random person during a story about your family.
Hawaiian’s are interesting! Spend some time around Hawaiians. They are different‼️
"Situational Awareness" - Stop looking at your phone all the time, and be aware of your surroundings.
And LISTEN as well!!!!
if he is still out there? I sure hope. But he may look different with a beard now
The family was stupid to bring a person with dementia on a cruise and then leave him unattended. It their fault.
They shouldn't let him go off by himself.Someone should have went to bathroom with him.A Cruise may not bave been the right choice for vacation.
he wasn’t allowed to go off by himself, this happened in just a few seconds
I never heard of this type of Dementia until Bruce Willis was diagnosed now you hear more people being diagnosed with this type of dementia maybe he was depressed because of his diagnosis in the early stages and didn’t want to be in that type of state Dementia Alzheimer’s and Frontal Lobe Dementia affect different people in different way’s maybe he didn’t want anyone to see how it may have changed him. It’s just so sad 😢
He has no money. How is he getting food and water?
Not to pile on. But if the daughter and wife were traveling with him, why didn't one of them keep an eye on him once he came out of the bathroom? Especially knowing his health issues. Best of luck to them
I've never traveled. My son was born 18 years ago with heart disease. So all my life went into taking care of that and surving life. Happily so. Another reason besides $ is I'm very Claustrophobic as well as a bad back. The back doest stop much however I can't stand or sit for long periods. And my a.d.h.d that always has me living in the moment crippled to think or plan for tomorrow.
So i Can't save, plan or afford to travel the way I would need too. BUT, I think I'm going to try. It's going to take 2-3 years but it's time I try to do something fun for myself.
Yes it is I didn’t start doing for me until after my husband died 10 yrs ago I’m disabled so I don’t have a lot of money either I plan and save it’s all a matter of what u want to do. Have fun we all deserve alittle something
There have got to be plenty of working cameras at the port as well as vloggers, tourists, dashcams in the cabs etc filming and taking pictures. Also, he wandered off in a highly populated area. Someone had to have seen something. Even in the background of a video or picture. Cameras had to have picked up something. At least a directions was walking. Was anyone with him. Did he fall. Was he going towards the water. Etc. And let’s start taking responsibility for our own actions here. It is awful that they are going through this, but they are this man’s caretakers now. Newly diagnosed or not. Obviously his symptoms would present themselves if they felt the need to stress this. They made a huge mistake. He was their responsibility and they left him alone. In a strange country. In a crowded space. Surrounded by a lot of people, vehicles, noises, water, traffic. Did he have money on him or credit cards/debit cards? Did he have his license on him? A cellphone for at least the ability to ping it? I know they said the AirTag they had on him “stopped working”. Does he require medication? Does he go on and out of episodes of dementia often in a day or is he more of sound mind and only have occasional periods where he begins to forget? These are important things that should be put out into the public. Are the wife and daughter still there searching? Would he be able to tell
Someone his name, their names, that he got lost, a phone number or his state he is from or what ship he was on….
Its true no one is going to stop having fun on their VK because something happen to stranger and we are hoppless to help in a way. Pleople wait years for their VK work hard to safe money to a stranger critizide by they own actions. Its sad but its reality. If someting happen to me know one will help me they are in their VK and having fun.😢
Once again, stop leaving your family alone when you know there's a medical condition. He obviously needed to be watched. Hope he's found safely.
I feel bad, but it's not America that is responsible for watching and controlling someone with dementia. The fact you chose not to air tag him or give him a phone you could track is solely the families fault for allowing him to travel with no way to keep up with him.
They had an air tag but the distance only allowed for a 33 sq fr tacking area
Is Mexico looking for Edmond? I feel like they should do a search party. Maybe start a. Gofundme to pay for enough people to fly down and look
Done and done to extreme extents. The entire island is on high alert
I hate bad news
I hope the man is found but you should never leave a mentally challenged person to wait alone whether it is an adult or teenager. I know hindsight is 20/20 but this should be a wake up call for everyone. 10 years ago a mother lost track of her teenage daughter on a themed cruise. Fortunately it was a smaller shop and she was found unharmed.
Constructive criticism: When you post clips that are to be read, please allow enough time to read them. So many times I get partway through and the message disappears. You are not the only one who does this but it is very frustrating. Don H Ocala Fl
Maybe just pause the video?
Totally agree, I have to wind it back and pause, so annoying.
@@Megansaysthis Thanks my friend. Not being critical just didn't know if you realizes that there isn't enough time to read it all.
OMG what’s happening with cruising these days, what’s going to happen when new ships are being built what will the news be then - cruising was never this dangerous 😢
Make a note in your own living will. Do not go on cruises...its not safe for people with dementia who do NOT have responsible minders.
I am not going to point the finger at the wife and complain about bad decisions; its clearly exhausting to look after someone with dementia. But sorry as with most missing person cases - there is only so much that can be done, especially in a foreign country. Just the way it is and my personal empathy is limited.
Why didn’t they apple tag him? He could have walked away at any time.
He walked off and I bet someone robbed him and killed him it is horrible
I feel like that man Will not be found alive. Mexico is not a safe place.
I don't even worry as much about the citizens but there's water he could've drowned in and he's going without food or beverage for an extended period of time... A day without water is pretty miserable. You can only live without water / beverages for about 3 days.
His name was Edmond, not Will.
@@johnp139his name is brad actually

should 57 years olds be allowed to drive buses, answer below.
It depends on the 57 year old. I'm 73 and drive a delivery truck part time. I am still alert, plan my route and schedule everything. Just aging doesn't make you necessarily stupid or incompetent.
Why not? Pilots can still fly. 57 isn’t very old at all!!!

Yes, there are stupid people at every age. Not an age issue.
Why has your content been so negative lately? I don’t feel like going on a cruise anymore if all these horrible things are happening to tourists.
