The Obi-Wan and Anakin final fight in episode 3 was awesome and they weren't swinging there lightsabers like baseball bats. The Darth Maul vs Obi-Wan and Quigon was another good fight. The Mace Windu vs Darth Sidious fight was good also. The only one whoever swung a lightsaber like a bat was Luke Skywalker, so what are you talking about?
Because these Jedi are trained from birth and can use the force to enhance their speed. Make sense for the sequels to have slower duels like in the OT.

Qimir headbutting the lightsabers with his cortosis material is pretty rad. Also I’m happy this show has balls to kill off the main characters.

For many of the SW:TOR cinematics with lightsaber combat, they use motion-capture actors/models for much of the fight-content(s); excepting the Force-powered action bits (obviously). Goes to show how much [care + effort] the SW:TOR cinematic producers put into their cinematic works.

1.) The _'vanilla'_ era of SW:TOR, with the 8x Class-specific Tales were *amazing,* having been written by the writers of *[Mass Effect (2007-2012) Trilogy].* The Class Tales are deeply immersive and detail-written with the overall theme of *_'Interconnectivity'_* between the 8x Class Tales. Even the 5x Class Companions per (8x) Player Class have detailed and nuanced backstories, many of them also _interconnected_ to other Player Class Companions in various ways (e.g.: one of the Sith Warrior Companions is the adoptive sister of one of the Smuggler Companions, separated during the conflict between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, both sisters wondering if the other is still alive). I had 16x characters, 4x of each side (8) and x2 between gender and 'Light vs. Dark' (8 x 2 = 16) and not once did I ever feel the _'grind'_ playing through the Class Tales 16x times through.
2.) Sadly, the expansions would not match such quality. Later SW:TOR expansion-eras would see the game-story homogenized into a singular Player-perspective (The Outlander, then the Odessen Alliance Commander). While the singular Player-perspective was not "terrible" per se, it now had the dreaded 'alt grind' of most MMOs. I downsized my active SW:TOR play to just two (2) characters, my Jedi Consular and my Sith Inquisitor, occasionally chipping away at the other 14 characters when I felt the inclination (which was not often).
3.) Eventually, I had enough in 2020, as the game was no longer what I enjoyed, and sadly left SW:TOR behind.
4.) This is *NOT* to dissuade you from trying SW:TOR if you still feel the interest in playing a Star Wars MMO. SW:TOR may very well still appeal to you, now that you are forewarned to what happens after the 8x Class Tales end, and the game-story homogenizes (Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion-era). You can plan ahead to which two (2) characters (Republic and Empire) you will actively continue to play when the homogenization occurs.

What I find really funny is the padawans smugness for having dual lightsabers and the with kills her with his own. Kind of gave me Princess bride duel vibes.
Kinda like how some of the lightsaber clashes sound like ricocheting bullets, kinda like how they sounded in the clone wars 2003 micro series. Always found that satisfying to hear during Anakin’s duel with Ventress on Yavin 4 or Greivous’s introduction.

Wasn't that technique forbidden even by the Sith? If I remember correctly, the Jedi didn't use it because it was deceptive and unfair and the Sith didn't use it because they saw Trakata as a sign of weakness.
@@refulgent_fanta The Sith saw it as cowardly yes. Although, when you consider it’s one Sith against around 9 or so Jedi, makes sense he’ll pull out all his tricks to win.
Trakata was agreed upon by both Sith and Jedi Orders that it’s a forbidden technique. I believe that’s why Sol says that The Stranger doesn’t follow the rules of combat.
@@BLAKEx2O seeing he’s likely not a Banite Sith, his unconventional combat style is probably what kept him alive long enough to become a threat.
@@refulgent_fanta Yeah, I doubt he’s a Rule of 2 Sith. Plagueis is also around at this time, and this guy clearly isn’t his apprentice. He’s more than likely a Fallen Jedi, I’d even go far enough as to say he’s potentially a fallen apprentice of Sol. The two seemed to know each-other.
I do agree his unconventional style would have been an advantage here if he is indeed truly a loner.

Cool edit. This sets a high bar for Star Wars going forward. So cool how Qimir was growling like a monster while fighting. What a tremendous episode.
I definitely feel like with this and with Obi Wan vs. Vader in that show that the producers have listened to fans regarding the quality of fights. The ones in Ahsoka were okay, too, I felt like the problem there was for whatever reason Rosario Dawson simply didn't put in the same amount of work to them that Ewan or Hayden or everyone in this scene. Kinda stinks since she is a great actor and her character suffered from it, I felt. But I definitely think the producers took the criticism from the Rey movies and are trying to improve.
It really did some efforts on choreography of dueling. We all can see that. But the storyline was just badly written. Bruh

@@IllustriousCrocoduck It seems like this show would be better if they were 1 hour long and there was story and then action. Like Star Trek 2009. There was story and then some action... story and then some action, etc. This way we could feel like we were being pushed along towards a goal without delay. Even if Mae was killing more Jedis every episode as the mystery kept moving that could be cool. It feels like all of us were expecting more action every episode after the first 2.

I'd just be happy if they did something new or different. This doesn't feel new, it doesn't feel like we have no idea where it's going. It's very textbook, and they took us to this new period in the galaxy without giving it any different flavor. The twins are just a handy excuse to run two parts of a cliched redemption arc but in less time. They are doing the rise and fall of the same character simultaneously rather than making a longer show or multiple seasons. And they're making allusions to the force diad from the sequel trilogy and the conception of Anakin, even if the details are a little different.
Even though everything has been done before, this is just particularly boring.

Yord was acctualy smart during the ending. Grabbing the helmet to use it to stop his lightsabers.

Qimir is acutally using this most dishonorable but trickery and deadly style Trakata which Is used to be forbidden by darth lords. Its nice to see one actually using this style.

@1:42 Just before the duck, he gets pulled into the green lightsaber after charging at her, not sure if that was meant to happen, but seemed off to me.
I actually like how they killed yord off, the whole series he was developed as the jedis monkey didnt think just accepted the everything the jedi stood for as absolute. In his last moments he strayed from his rigid thinking and used the cortosis helmet.
Qimir must have a powerful and skilled master, for him to be that skilled in Lightsaber combat.

this is what I wanted to see from Star Wars, in the movies you see the jedi or anyone using the force just using it to push people around but in this qmir is using it strategically to advance in the fight and the fight choreography is also excellent not just relying on the force but using it to set up attacks.

Honestly I didn't expect THIS. His costume looks much less savage on screenshots or promo arts, but this battle was insane. His helmet looks like 'Kylo Ren's, but actually raw and giving you horror vibes', combined with loose robes and his slim arms gave chills. He was almost like a horror movie villain lol. Qimir was quick, his movements extremely brutal, but fluid, at the same time. Once helmet is down, his face mannerism sold his character even more.
And I read that the actor is into martial arts and also was dancing, so he played the role all the time without a stunt double and it shows.
I will miss him once the show is over.
And by the way, his helmet reminds me of Trapper in Dead By Daylight.
Overall the show surprised me. Based on opinions I expected pure sh*t, but I think it is more than decent overall.

This scene was one of the highlights of the series. The Force pull to get the triple kill was great. I do wonder why he cut the one Jedi in the leg. It's not very Sith like.

Yeah, she did pretty well. But it seems a combination of Jar'kai and Trakata (Qimir) is superior to Jar'kai alone (Jecki)

I had a feeling he was the with all the litttle hints they left. Like him not being able to get to mae that’s what she said anyways he can’t travel to us that quickly. And the fact she tied him up left him and found the wookie dead. Was all the evidence I needed. Really sick tho actually can’t wait till next episode

Like the acolyte has its problems but I've enjoyed it so far. This might be my favorite live action depiction of a dark side force user dueling. Darth Vader is awesome but most of his fights were either against his son or just overwhelming use of the force. Maul was sick with the double bladed saber...but this guy almost completely blind, using the force, cortosis, trakata, just destroying a group of jedi masters is so cool to watch.
Edit: Dooku is really cool in theory but the age of the actor made the live action fights kinda hard to choreograph and shoot. And same with palpatine.
ironically i wish the old disney where they just put one hit at the belly and survived. at the time, we all hated it, but i want it back.

This should start with the moment right before the fighting starts where he gets real close to mei and then when the Jedi confront him the rhythm of him tossing her aside and then wave basing the rest of the Jedi was a great moment.

Yeah I know, she hired the right people and gave them the right direction. More so than Filoni.
This series did many things wrong, but i will say the fighting has been pretty good, manny played an excellent character all things considered, its just a little bit confusing that the character exists at all

so when the sith threw his lightsaber, the jedi should of chopped the hilt in half, and boom, the sith dude has no weapon, and no more dead jedi. the jedi literally gave the sith his lightsaber back so he can kill more people.

At least there’s one good take away from this show. The choreography is definitely a step up, not prequel level but I can definitely see some work there, everything else is questionable to say the least 😂.

It certainly looks cool, but the fight just doesn’t make a lot of sense. If he has gear that disrupts lightsabers, why doesn’t he just block with them instead of blocking with his lightsaber? Every time he didn’t use them it just felt like the fight was being dragged out for the sake of being dragged out.
