I've lost my run on tainted Maggy because of blood oath, when I decide to kill beast. It nullified my hp every 3-4 rooms

@@mewbusi I think they meant that once blood oath drained, it left them with no hp to survive the first few rooms of the next floor
@@TheKyubiisaan I mean, sure? But you do have yum heart which so long as you keep ready for the next floor you'll have 2.5 hearts to use putting you just .5 hearts above your static health. Which allows you to build up health through the floor to then essentially convert to damage and speed for the next over and over again. Still an amazing item for Tainted Maggie. And I'm still confused with how blood oath still nullified HP every 3-4 rooms.
@@mewbusi when you ascend to home all floors became smaller so I have less rooms to heal and charge yum heart

Quick question: what happens if you teleport (Telepills, The Stars, Teleporter, etc.) before Blood Oath stabs the character?
Teleporting will not help you avoid the stab :D
The stabbing animation pauses as you teleport and resumes once you arrive at the destination

Sounds good but blood oath isn’t needed to make it amazing but it’s still good nonetheless
@@dove_shampoo2957 if your underwhelmed, do this in greed mode + bomber boy + scatter bombs + glimmer bombs + sad/brim bombs. You will clear the waves easily and stay at full health. Works better the more red hearts you have between floors, just don't use blood bombs, those eat up frames and mess with the layers
With this, eve now has a reason to do angel room
I mean Repentance makes me almost always take Angel Rooms but eve is one of the few characters that always benefits on Low/No Red HP.
Or, just curse rooms

Currently in Boss Rush with Jacob + Easu, im probably halfway through, my god rock bottom will be so worth it IF i make it out alive.

One of those items that really requires a good run + character with which to use it IMO, plus you knowing what it does. IF you have a lot of heart containers and some extra soul/black hearts it can work out for you.
You _can_ get a lot of use out of it, I guess I just feel like it's the victim of Devil Deals not always offering as many items as they should. Blood Oath's much more situational than stuff like The Pact, Ceremonial Robes, Death's Touch and etc.

I had a crazy good run with Maggy with this item + Bloody Gust. 4 heart containers was enough for 2.00 speed, 6+ fire rate, and very high damage. With Yum heart it was easy enough to heal up before the next floor and get the stat boost again. It's not always a good item, but if you can make it work, it's extremely powerful.

What if you switched to The Soul right before it hits you with The Forgotten?
You aren't damaged and you get no bonuses
That just scared me for a moment
6:50 What if you go to the next floor as the forgotten and then change into the soul before the blood oath falls (like mid-animation or before the animation even happens)?
Fanny pack can spawn a troll bomb and kill you in an instant (happened to me -_-), so is not necessary that good of a synergy

its good with polaroid, plus blood oath actually forces u down to polaroid status when u go down anyways so ur gonna be completely safe from the troll bombs

I remember a glitch in antibirth where if all your red hearts were filled with rotten hearts this item would just kill you, I assume that's fixed?

Honestly I'm surprised they weren't cruel enough to have Blood Oath reduce spirit heart-based characters like the blue baby to half a spirit heart at the beginning of every floor with this item considering how items like the dead cat work.
It’s not cruelty, it’s balance
Dead cat gives you 9 lives with 1 hp,
Blue baby’s “hp” is exclusively soul hearts (a change demonstrated in how hp ups add a soul heart instead)
Normal characters can have soul hearts but that isn’t their hp stat, so their soul hearts are untouched
Blood oath is more exclusively about emptying red heart containers.
_That’s mechanical consistency, baby_
Besides, forcing you to start every floor with half a spirit heart for non-challenge characters would be malicious beyond any logical through-line. You should have more faith in the devs, they aren’t just dicks for no reason
Works well with Bozo, as the item gives you a chance to spawn rainbow poop when you take damage.

Its great with Eve, you can exchange your life draining active item for something better and pick up health up without fear of wasting soul hearts in your standart form. Samson mabe if you are good at keeping soul hearts up but you want him on lots of red health anyway so the high reward may come at a life starving risk if you don't have maggies bow or other heal boosting items/combos (serpents kiss+game boy).
For other characters its either mediocre, useless or life threatening

How does it work with T. Lazarus? Does only the side of Lazarus that has it get the buffs?
Only one side has the buff.
Also when you switch to the other side and back, the buff is removed.
It's likely a bug though :D
Bozo is almost guaranteed to proc the rainbow poop effect since blood oath does ticks, got it from a crawl space during my Bloody Mary run and could instantly heal back to full on each floor

If you pick up blood oath as one Lazarus and go down the floor as the other what happens?
Nothing happens until you swap back to the one holding Blood Oath.
That side of Lazarus will then be stabbed :D
Also if you swap away, the bonus will be removed.
I think it's a bug though.
This + curse of the Tower + Pyromaniac = no downsides.

If you leave the room while right as you get stabbed, only a few bombs will spawn no matter how much health you lost.
It's not one hit, it's actually one hit for every hitpoint dealt given how all of the items trigger.
1:23 are you sure it just adds 2 hearts? did you check if it dosent just double the effect (since you lost 2 and a half hearts)
It adds bonus stats equal to that of 2 hearts taken
