For anyone who owns Repentance, be aware that the unlock requirements for Challenge #4 : Darkness Falls have been updated; you now also need to unlock Sacrificial Dagger by beating The Chest with Eve.
@@sorurus7552 You have to instead use ‘clear rune’. The amount of charge needed is dependent on the rune you want to use, jera being a 12 room charge. clear rune has no unlock condition and can be found in secret rooms and crane games
@@neojester Well, this means that now, doing a Jera exploit means you need way more batteries which means it’s only possible if you get lucky with champions and chests.
Uh, I installed repentance and i dont seem to find the challenge: Family man... I got the both key pieces in 1 run i beat the lamb, isaac, blue baby, satan, mega satan,delirium, hush but i still dont have it. Any clues?
Just bought afterbirth+ in 2023, and i found this game way too good. I love the guide you've done aswell. Very easy to understand and straight forward. Never knew there was so much to discover in isaac.

@@rafiihsanalfathin9479 I see. I 100% rebirth, but had to start over for repentance (never played afterbirth) because repentance isn’t available on my ps vita (I’m using the Switch now). It’s crazy how much bigger the game got! I don’t think I’ll be able to 100% it now because of not only the difficulty spike with characters, but the lack of having my PS Plus exploit to use any time I didn’t like an outcome lol.
This video was super helpful, you explained everything like you would to a complete beginner and not assuming any prior knowledge. Wish there was more videos explaining stuff in this way since it would allow more players to get into the game. Time stamps in the desc are also nice

Well,what I can say is first off unlock the blue womb,by beating moms heart 10 times,then beat hush 3 times (azazel reccomended despite the nerf.) To unlock the alt path Now to side track,unlock greedier mode im not sure about the exact unlock but you need to donate at least under 600 coins to the donation machine,obviously this is alot of money so we need game breaks,maybe go for blank card,and obviously the d20 (beat issac as eden for blank card,and beat ??? As issac for the d20) so for issac either get lucky and beat ??? Without the dice or beat issac as ??? To unlock the d6 for him OH,and unlock the Polaroid by beating issac 5 times Now that our two game breaks are unlocked beat ultra greedier as issac to unlock the d1,the first piece to the puzzle Now let's go to the alt path,beat mother to unlock the way to dogma And now,unlock cain by getting 55 coins in a run,shouldnt be hard Now go to the ascent as cain,open moms box to unlock the red key,go outside the room and use it to unlock the final piece of the puzzle,tainted cain! Now from here you can do whatever you want,you unlock some amazing items from the start and an essential one (clicker) But you maybe confused right now,why is he so good? Well,he can craft any item in the game (except key items) which makes him an absolute powerhouse Now you'd want to start a t cain run,craft d1 and car battery,you can look up the recipes for it,I'd also like to point out birthright,its an item that changes effect depending on which character you play,for here it's a luxury considering the hard character,so get the recourses to make the d1 and car battery,you need to find a battery on the ground,then infinitely duplicate it,which means you can infinitely duplicate it and it snowballs from there This is where the clicker comes into play,you can change into any character in the game,now you may have none but tainted cain unlocked,this means you need to change to normal characters,the only extra life that can help you with this is ankh,as its unlocked by default,now you craft the items you want and make alot of random items,the reason is you lose an item everytime you use the clicker,you can now change into normal characters and change into the character you want and get their unlocks and keep your amazing items That should be it! I cant believe I wasted this much time writing this.

If I may say, if you so happen to get We Need To Go Deeper before you beat Mom for the first time and use it on the floor that Mom is in, you can get to the Womb before even beating Mom! This can also get you into Sheol before you ever beat Mom's Heart once. I know this because it literally happened to me on my first run.

a more update for repentance: in repentance theres now the alt path, which is unlocked by beating hush 3 times, and you can access it by beating mom's heart 10 times and reaching hush in 30 minutes or less some good characters to beat hush with are: magdelene: unlocks purity, giving a massive tears, damage, speed, or range up until you get hit, and it shuffles into a new one eve: unlocks athame, giving enemies a fairly high chance of spawning a black brimstone-esque ring when they die, making it one of the best room clearing items in the game azazel: unlocks maw of the void, remember those black rings spawned by athame? its basically that but on command on a fixed charge timer eden: eden's blessing, a tears up and a random item on your next run, making your next start a bit easier lilith, whos unlocked by beating greed mode as azazel: probably the best to unlock out of all of these, giving you a familiar that shoots your exact tears at 75% damage, making it technically 20/20 with a bit higher dps, however its harder to aim with the incubus than 20/20 so it balances out overall you might wanna also unlock bethany at this point, as she has some really good unlocks, she can be unlocked by beating mom's heart on hard mode without losing a life as lazarus when you unlock bethany id also suggest taking a detour and beat isaac and ??? as her to unlock book of virtues, basically giving your active items an upgrade, and blessed penny which makes it so pennies have a chance of dropping half soul hearts, which are both incredibly potent items after unlocking the alt path, here are some good characters to beat mother with bethany: unlocks revelation, basically the holy variant of maw of the void which has lower dps in exchange for 2 soul hearts and flight, and a straight beam rather than a circle if you unlock him, keeper: you probably wont have him for a while now but this unlocks keeper's sack, basically making it so buying items gives you some damage, range and speed cain: unlocks guppy's eye, giving you another guppy piece to find alongside having the benefit of seeing whats in chests, sacks, and other miscellaneous things which drop items like fires and keeper statues eden: unlocks 'M, which is a trinket which rerolls your active item whenever you use it, this sounds bad on paper but when you realise you can drop a trinket this becomes super broken, basically letting you get any super powerful active item if you use it enough after beating mother, you'll unlock jacob and esau, one of the hardest characters in the game, but also has some of the most powerful unlocks in the game, like rock bottom, the stairway, birthright, damocles, and genesis you'll also unlock seeing double and isaac's awakening, seeing double unlocking an ok trinket, while isaac's awakening unlocks spirit sword, giving a really powerful item, however its not too synergistic and it'll end up giving you hand cramps probably you'll also unlock a mysterious door which can be openned by using the polaroid or negative on it, which is where i'll end this, you'll have to explore that for yourself
I don’t own Repentance *yet* but this really helps me since I only have Afterbirth+. Watching this in 2022 and still learning that I haven’t unlocked Bloody Penny made me feel embarrassed lol. Thanks!
good video, perfect instructions for beginners i just want to take notice of a small detail: it is better to recharge the d20 BEFORE opening the chests in the greed room, as it rerolls the empty chests too, getting a little bit more of consumables

I really liked the #17 waka waka challenge because you can just spam a bunch of tears in a specific place while moving and attract all the enemies nearby killing everything and depleting bullets without minimal effort

Oh man... the Solar System challenge was the most difficult one for me out of all of these. I finally completed it tonight, thus getting them all. Since I unlocked Chaos Card, Death's Touch, and Epic Fetus, I have not found those items in my games even once. I wonder if they have an exceptionally rare appearance rate.
tip for those who stuggle with Family man and advanced enough to unlock antibirth alts paths in the game: Try to reach mausoleum (the 3th "alt" chapter which cost 2 red hearts to open) and fight Siren and after that bomb the skull left behind unlocking "Forgotten Melody" trinket which increase the fire rate of familiars and probably save your run in that challenge if you can found it
Thank you very much. 1 month ago I was like "Holy shit beat Mom's Heart 11 times?!" Now I've beaten both the Lamb and ??? On multiple characters and unlocked almost everything in this video. Edit: Scratch that I've just beaten Mega Satan for the first time
good job Azazel is my go-to character for trying for mega satan or other hard bosses satan mega form is a hard boss because he has hard-to-dodge attacks and a second phase making him use alot of fire attacks
I've been playing the game since Wrath of The Lamb, so I'm really experienced in the game, but this is really helpful to new players Really nice video :D
Gurdy JR is pretty easy. You need to remember to make him charge into you horizontally or vertically only. Also, do NOT try to shoot him while he charges.
There's a couple of key points in this video you didn't mention: First, while taking a devil room deal denies you angel rooms, sacrificing hearts for items in the black market, which appear in crawlspaces (a trap door with a ladder) also locks them away. Second, Chaos Card will instantly defeat all bosses EXCEPT Delirium, the final boss of The Void.

Some tip: The "family guy" challenge will also req to have unlocked "it lives!", anyway, you can get the key and "It lives!" from other run I mean: you can get the key in one run and in other run unlock, "it lives!" if you don't unlock it yet
Thanks a ton! I've just gotten into issac (i've had rebirth for a while, but just recently bought both the DLCs) and this is just what I need to get up to speed. That is, until repentance comes along and adds even more things.
Pro-gamer tips; if you are going for greed mode. Don't unlock any other runes from challenges other than Jera. Also, a must unlock challenge is "It's in the Cards", you unlock SMB super fan that just like the Halo is an all stats boost, a great item. Great characters to unlock everything at the beginning is Azazel > Sanson > Isaac > Lilith (this one can be quite hard for novices). These characters unlock one of the best items to add to your item pool and are quite easy to get a handle on the game. Shitter tip great for challenges and easy starts. Restart the game until you get a key-locked door at the spawn, it's a library and will possibly make you transform into the bookworm transformation, giving you the chance to shoot double tears. And remember, always play on Hardmode if you plan to 100% the game. Or else you gonna have to get all those competition marks all over again.
Whoa I had no idea there was so much more to this game then I thought I died so many times when I first downloaded it I removed it to make room for different games but I think I’ll try this again.
For any body at the start of playing isaac try to tank the angel or devil chance from taking red heart dmg in your run until reaching mom's heart or womb II since upon getting a angel or devil in womb II there will be a passage to sheol from devils or a light upwards to the cathedral but this will make your run harder

Another advice: unlock the jera rune first and no other runes, so that if you find the item Rune bag, you basically have a garanteed jera rune generator for all your runa 😉
@@Francesco_Renna yes but unlocking lilith is what is hard greed mode (even with azazel) can be hard I tried when was a begginer and cound get past sheol(I got to ultra greed obe but lost miserably)so a beginner might havee a tough time unlocking her
I don’t know if rune shards were a thing when you wrote your comment, but they are now in Repentance! I wouldn’t be surprised at all that if the only rune you unlocked was the jera rune, the bag would constantly be dropping rune shards, and jera every once in a while. Lol.

hey so just a quick note you can use the "Anhk" item to revive as ???, making it so you only have to do a single room with him making obtaining the d6 much easier

there is always stuff to do in isaac until you get the dead god achievement ^^

i just want to take notice of a small detail: it is better to recharge the d20 BEFORE opening the chests in the greed room, as it rerolls the empty chests too, getting a little bit more of consumables
I don’t understand what you wrote. What matters is when you use the d20, not when you recharge it. And he was using it after opening the chests.

A little tip:
Charge the d20 up before opening the chests; doing so, rerolls also the "unlocked chest" that is on the floor for extra pickups.

I really liked the #17 waka waka challenge because you can just spam a bunch of tears in a specific place while moving and attract all the enemies nearby killing everything and depleting bullets without minimal effort

Oh man... the Solar System challenge was the most difficult one for me out of all of these. I finally completed it tonight, thus getting them all.
Since I unlocked Chaos Card, Death's Touch, and Epic Fetus, I have not found those items in my games even once. I wonder if they have an exceptionally rare appearance rate.
Epic Fetus is extremely rare, but the other 2 shouldn't be that rare.

Tip for Greedmode with D20: opened chests are pick ups too, so to break greedmode faster you should buy battery first, and then open all chests.
tip for those who stuggle with Family man and advanced enough to unlock antibirth alts paths in the game: Try to reach mausoleum (the 3th "alt" chapter which cost 2 red hearts to open) and fight Siren and after that bomb the skull left behind unlocking "Forgotten Melody" trinket which increase the fire rate of familiars and probably save your run in that challenge if you can found it

good job Azazel is my go-to character for trying for mega satan or other hard bosses satan mega form is a hard boss because he has hard-to-dodge attacks and a second phase making him use alot of fire attacks

You have to beat Delirium within a 10 second time span while panicking and wondering if you even have it unlocked yet.
I was very surprised by how easy it is to unlock Azazel considering how powerful he is

Gurdy JR is pretty easy. You need to remember to make him charge into you horizontally or vertically only. Also, do NOT try to shoot him while he charges.

There's a couple of key points in this video you didn't mention:
First, while taking a devil room deal denies you angel rooms, sacrificing hearts for items in the black market, which appear in crawlspaces (a trap door with a ladder) also locks them away.
Second, Chaos Card will instantly defeat all bosses EXCEPT Delirium, the final boss of The Void.
He did point out to get a Angel room you cannot do devil deals...

Chaos card also doesn't work against the beast
Some tip: The "family guy" challenge will also req to have unlocked "it lives!", anyway, you can get the key and "It lives!" from other run

you can get the key in one run
and in other run unlock, "it lives!" if you don't unlock it yet

Pro-gamer tips; if you are going for greed mode. Don't unlock any other runes from challenges other than Jera. Also, a must unlock challenge is "It's in the Cards", you unlock SMB super fan that just like the Halo is an all stats boost, a great item.
Great characters to unlock everything at the beginning is Azazel > Sanson > Isaac > Lilith (this one can be quite hard for novices). These characters unlock one of the best items to add to your item pool and are quite easy to get a handle on the game.
Shitter tip great for challenges and easy starts. Restart the game until you get a key-locked door at the spawn, it's a library and will possibly make you transform into the bookworm transformation, giving you the chance to shoot double tears.
And remember, always play on Hardmode if you plan to 100% the game. Or else you gonna have to get all those competition marks all over again.

Whoa I had no idea there was so much more to this game then I thought I died so many times when I first downloaded it I removed it to make room for different games but I think I’ll try this again.
For any body at the start of playing isaac try to tank the angel or devil chance from taking red heart dmg in your run until reaching mom's heart or womb II since upon getting a angel or devil in womb II there will be a passage to sheol from devils or a light upwards to the cathedral but this will make your run harder

Another advice: unlock the jera rune first and no other runes, so that if you find the item Rune bag, you basically have a garanteed jera rune generator for all your runa 😉

yeah but rune bag is unlocked by beating isaac as lilith so you will need to beat greed mode as azazel and then bet isaac as lilith
@@Rafael-op3pd i'd say it is still worth It, since all of your runes will be jeras and beating Isaac with Lilith Is not really that hard
@@Francesco_Renna yes but unlocking lilith is what is hard greed mode (even with azazel) can be hard I tried when was a begginer and cound get past sheol(I got to ultra greed obe but lost miserably)so a beginner might havee a tough time unlocking her
I don’t know if rune shards were a thing when you wrote your comment, but they are now in Repentance! I wouldn’t be surprised at all that if the only rune you unlocked was the jera rune, the bag would constantly be dropping rune shards, and jera every once in a while. Lol.

hey so just a quick note you can use the "Anhk" item to revive as ???, making it so you only have to do a single room with him making obtaining the d6 much easier
That is very inconsistent as the game has 5 billion items and you need that specific one.
