AWESOME, THANKS! So I found this video after being disappointed about my new $22 duck call. I went out to an industrial plastic supply shop and bought a min order of 3'x1' of mylar plastic for $2. After 10-15min of trying different plastic cuts I found the sound I was looking for. My new and crappy duck call went from a $22 disappointment to a $24 drake slayer. Not the best quality vid but the point came across. Thanks!
@francarson That is actually a Delrin insert. The sound I made is called a bouncing hen, and to do it you do almost exactly how you described it. I do have a tutorial on it a little farther down on my page
Man I have watched all your duck "how to" videos and they are awesome, but I'm curious do you guys have a website or contact info? Curious because I have a call I bought online and it hasn't sounded well since I got it and I was wondering if I could send it to you and have you put a cork and reeds in it and tune it according to your style because you guys make any call sound great! Any info would be great! Thanks Matt
@eyehaveyou1 Just buy a sheet of mylar plastic and try a bunch of cuts. As for the cork, if you don't feel like re-cutting it then just stuff mylar squares underneath as filler. Also, I didn't bevel the edges to avoid the squeak you mention. Anyway, give this a try.
