I haven't seen duck dynasty and I do not know what the show is about. But judging from these 4 minutes. The dude seems like a nice friendly guy, so I don't understand why people hate him that much.
Because he's a Christian.. And from the southeastern United States. If you were born a Christian, in the southeastern states, the rest of America hates you and thinks you are stupid for absolutely no reason at all. Just the way it is. Trust me I know.

he quoted the Bible about what was unacceptable sexual behavior...unfortunately he lumped homosexuality in with beastiality in one sentence. it's not like he made the quotes up...he simply quoted what the Bible says and agreed with it.

I'll still love the Duck Dynasty crew no matter what. I don't believe in God at all, nor would I ever pick up a Bible. But I'd still watch their show, even though they say a prayer at the end of every show, and because they're generally good people. Plus, I always get a good laugh watching Si Robertson. So what, Phil said his opinion, who cares. People are getting way to worked up over it. You know, if you watched the one film on his past, you'd know how he and his family really are. They're just good, down to earth people, with their own opinions. If you were dying, in the middle of the road somewhere, whether you're black, gay, white, green, Asian, brown, etc., Phil and his family would still take care of you, because it's the right thing to do.

I never watched the show, and I heard a lot of bad stuff about this guy. But I dunno, he seems cool enough.
He has a very strict opinion about God and homosexuality. Phil found God after a long battle with alcoholism, and he took the book very literally. Maybe that makes him a bad man in the eyes of some, but, I am glad to see he found his way outta the bottle.
He is a very humble guy. Before Duck Dynasty, they owned Duck Commander calls and had a series of duck hunting films called The Duckmen. Only when A&E got their hooks in them did you see the fame go to their heads. And even then, they still maintain a humble attitude. I would hunt with them any day
