Having driven both, I completely agree. There might not exist a better duo if you need a blend of thrills and practicality. Just swap out the FL5's adaptive damper module with the one in the DE5 for far better compliance on the street.
Personally I'd pick the FK8 instead of the FL5 (or maybe even a Megane RS Trophy Mk3). The latter is surprisingly cheap to buy, around 20k or a bit more for low mileage.
Hey Zygrene, does it make that much of a difference? I love my FL5, but I haven’t really had any gripes with the suspension aside from +R being a bit bouncy on some roads. Wouldn’t the Acura one make it worse?
seems a bit repetitive to have the same engine everywhere. FL5 is the perfect one car garage. However for comfort and road trips, it is still a civic with a manual, sitting in traffic and going over potholes, and the noise level on the highway is not enjoyable.
@@nitrostackr what I felt from driving the FL5 and DE5 on the same bumpy canyon road is that the FL5's suspension, in Comfort mode, will still adjust damping on the fly to be more aggressive when you start driving hard. I guess it depends on your definition of the "same" engine, as there are many different versions of the GM LS V8 engine, even at the same displacement. Considering how many kit cars are built around this engine platform, you would have literally hundreds of combinations of a two car garage. For example, I might go with the Silverado Dual-mode hybrid pickup as a daily driver and a Factory Five GTM supercar for a bit of fun on the weekends. Though a Toyota Tacoma and a Lotus could be good as well. For a three "car" garage though, I think it would be hard to beat a four door RAM V10 truck, a Dodge Viper, and a Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle.
I would go with BAC Mono and some Ford. Or maybe Alfa Giulia Racing Edition and Ferrari? Or "classic" Mercedes and Zonda? You are right... there is a lot of options.
👏🏻, great film & a good combination of cars,,,, but I think anything that houses that now nearly put out to pasture 5 litre, supercharged V8 jaguar engine is on to a winning combination. So how about the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake (practicality ✅) & the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 (looks & open to the elements ✅)?
For a few other engine pairs, how about a Ford GT and an F150 Lightning, Dodge Viper and Dodge Ram, Oldsmobile Toronado and GM Motorhome, Any big block Corvette and a big block Chevy pickup, BMW M1 and first gen BMW M5, Any V8 TVR and Range Rover, for bikes: BMW S1000RR and BMW S1000XR, Ducati Panigale V4 and Ducati Multistrada V4, Ducati 916 and Cagiva Elefant, Honda Goldwing ad Honda Valkyrie, Honda Supercub 125 and Honda Trail125. This is fun!
Love the 2GR engine So there are tons of options like the Lotus emyra and Lexus LC500H are my top 2 but there is more Lotus Exige Evora Lexus IS350 Toyota Avalon Camry Rav4 Sienna Wont be supriced if the lexus RX has one too
BMW M3 Comp and X5 40i xDrive. They're essentially the same 3.0L x58 block. Mustang Dark Horse and F-150. 5.0L Coyote V8. McLaren F1 and BMW 750il - V12 Mercedes S600 and Pagani Zonda C12S Koenigsegg CC8S and whatever Ford that uses the Modular 4.6L, Crown Vic, Lincoln Continental, Mustang GT, F-150, Explorer, Mountaineer, Grand Marquis, I'm sure someone's blender used the Modular Ford 4.6.
Two cars with the same engine ? I choose thoses two : Zafira OPC (7 seater at 200km/h+ on the autobahn looks like fun and a bit of a sleeper too). And a Speedster turbo (basically an elise with a 2L 200hp turbo engine) 30k for the speedster and 10k for the zafira, cheaper too (LHD MARKETS).
Easy - Renault Sport Megane IV & Alpine A110. The engine is nothing to write home about but they are both excellent drivers cars, with one much more so than the other, and the other much more practical.

@@igor240898433 If FWD was any good the Ariel would be using it. :)
@@damirbajic4579 I love driving, and riding bikes also, and although I prefer RWD, I'm good with any type of drivetrain when properly set up. Saying that FWD is only for day to day transportation is confirmation that you don't have a fucking clue about driving.
I would say, a Lexus with the 3.5L engine and the Emira...
Well I have half of this garage so I guess I need to start trying to source an Ariel Atom
How about the Volvo 5 cylinder in the Focus RS and Volvo V70R?
I've only ever driven an Atom in the rain as well. I'm desperate to do it again properly, but in the dry!
As can be seen in the final shot, the Civic is surprisingly just as fast around a circuit as the Atom 4R. Impressive.
5:56 why is there three pedals if it has a sequential gearbox ?
Is it for launching the car like in rally cars ?
Very cool, thanks.
I was going to comment while watching, my first thought would be the 812 & Purosangue, then Henry said it 😄.
I would go with BAC Mono and some Ford. Or maybe Alfa Giulia Racing Edition and Ferrari? Or "classic" Mercedes and Zonda? You are right... there is a lot of options.
Purosangue and novitec 812 N-largo 🙂
6:09 Henry's inner 8 year-old caught on camera for the first time 😁 !
Bro the Ariel Atom's rearwing looks like it came from a 2012 Lotus F1 car. Absolutely gorgeous
Choo, choo, choo, WOW!
Pagani Huayra & Mercedes S 65 AMG
UA-cam offered translation to:
"Buy airplane & Mercedes s65 AMG"
+1 but S65 Coupe and Huayra BC Roadster
M177 with an Aston Martin DB12 & a Merc GLE AMG or (if we can push it a bit), Aston Martin Vulcan & a Ford with 4 doors
👏🏻, great film & a good combination of cars,,,,
but I think anything that houses that now nearly put out to pasture 5 litre, supercharged V8 jaguar engine is on to a winning combination.
Love the 2GR engine
So there are tons of options like the
Lotus emyra and Lexus LC500H are my top 2 but there is more
Lotus Exige
Evora
Lexus IS350
Toyota Avalon
Camry
Rav4
Sienna
Wont be supriced if the lexus RX has one too
Focus & Caterham ; F-150 & Mustang ; RS4 & R8 ; Escalade & C8 Corvette ; Ineos Grenadier & "Toyota" Supra ; AM DBX & MB AMG GT ; Durango Hellcat & Challenger Hellcat Widebody ; Toyota Camry & Lotus Emira ; Nissan Titan & Super GT GTR racer ; Volvo XC90 & Nobel M12. Probably a few more.
Nice video. Would have been good to get a lap time for each of them.
My 2 Car Garage, both sharing the same engine would be the Lotus Emira and Lexus IS300 AWD both sharing the Toyota 3.5l V6
Does a sister engine duo count? I've got a 1ZZ bunky daily and 2ZZ track toy. Close enough?
I wish they offered both of those in awd options lol with a switch that could go rwd or awd
Nice video, but how about Nm and other metric units?
BMW M3 Comp and X5 40i xDrive. They're essentially the same 3.0L x58 block.
Mustang Dark Horse and F-150. 5.0L Coyote V8.
McLaren F1 and BMW 750il - V12
Mercedes S600 and Pagani Zonda C12S
Koenigsegg CC8S and whatever Ford that uses the Modular 4.6L, Crown Vic, Lincoln Continental, Mustang GT, F-150, Explorer, Mountaineer, Grand Marquis, I'm sure someone's blender used the Modular Ford 4.6.
Very simple!! A couple corvettes!
While I'd take this 2-car garage, you have to mention the Audi RS3 and KTM X-BOW GT-XR make a compelling option too!
Cool
Happy New Year
Two car garage: NB2 Miata with Bilstein coil overs and flyin Miata turbo kit, and a e60 535xi. It’s old and fun.
fun fact, having owned a FN2 with a metal gear knob, in the summer it blisters your palm, and in the winter, cures the blistering with frost bite
M4 Comp 6MT - S58
X3M Comp 8Auto - S58
Very nice,
Same engine? Assuming no om606/ls swaps and has to be factory would go
Range rover classic and v8 westfield
Two cars with the same engine ?
I choose thoses two :
Zafira OPC (7 seater at 200km/h+ on the autobahn looks like fun and a bit of a sleeper too).
And a Speedster turbo (basically an elise with a 2L 200hp turbo engine)
30k for the speedster and 10k for the zafira, cheaper too (LHD MARKETS).
The perfect two-car garage: Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS & The Dakar.
Henry great as usual but kudos to the drone pilot 😮
Love it
Easy - Renault Sport Megane IV & Alpine A110. The engine is nothing to write home about but they are both excellent drivers cars, with one much more so than the other, and the other much more practical.
Beautiful
Hhmmm cherokee trackhawk + manual hellcat. Audi rs3 + ktm. Aston Martin vantage + e63 s estate. To many options!!!
Gordon Murray T.50 and Gordon Murray T.33 Spider….. those are my picks haha
Two car solution : Type R + Alpine A 110
