Believe it or not but this could actually happen… Delta was givin a training exercise to test SS capabilities one time. They were to infiltrate the white house and “capture” the President. They could only use what they found online so they didn’t have an intel. It literally went about like this.

who ever made this movie lacked the knowledge of how much training the agents in that building had, at 5:20 those swat officer would have one or two people watching rear, granted this movie isnt 100% accurate and is older, Its still a good movie and I enjoyed watching it.

I am fine with not portaying it accurately, but if your script needs all these "professionals" to just act like idiots and fight worse than the avarage civilian, your script just sucks. If you have one descent writer, you can do better.

This scene, the planning to take over the White House is not even close and inferior to the scene from Olympus Has Fallen where the paramilitary terrorist organization from North Korea attacks Washington DC with an AC-130, and frontal assault the White House and taking over it using 40 of them heavily armed plus two garbage trucks with heavy machine guns.
And the only defense the White house had where 12 secret service guy and gals armed with handguns that decided that can use 9mm guns to shut down an AC-130 and rushed to the open to do exactly that. Had to stop watching that movie the moment I realized it wasn't a comedy. It's my 3rd most idiotic plot action movie in the history of mankind. Even Call of Duty has a better script.

@@Veridiano02that’s because that was all that was left inside, the majority inside were killed and overpowered and the rest are in the bunker for the most part, they couldn’t rush in from the outside because they had the president trapped, the plan was executed well and is far more realistic than this although of course neither are ever gonna happen in a million years realistically
That plane in OHF would've got shot down in seconds, and the American agents wouldn't start shooting in open fire without cover. Terrorists disguised as janitors is at least more plausible

Americans trying to say this could never happen, and yet every threat assessment carried out by their own White House has shown it to be not only possible but extremely hard to defend against. Most of the security at the White House is theatrics (scanners, sensors, gates, etc.). Other countries have elite operators protecting their capital, whereas the US insist on using the Secret Service who are their core just treasury agents with very limited capabilities when compared to a well trained threat.
Pretending the US is invulnerable and underestimating their enemy is why they lost in Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. If a team of highly trained paramilitary decided to launch an attack like this then the result wouldn't be much different. Token resistance from the Secret Service would be put down quickly. By the time the cavalry arrived it would be too late.
Why doesn't it happen? Because any well trained enemy simply doesn't care about the American president or the White House. Presidents aren't like kings. Presidents are mostly hated by the public, easily replaced, and their power can be transferred time and time again. Any blow to American morale wouldn't last long due to propaganda and patriotism. Just look at 9/11 where terrorists destroyed an entire wing of the Pentagon and yet the American propaganda machine jumped into action to claim they were still invulnerable. Then look at January 6, when unarmed civilians took over the US Capitol. Imagine if that were an actual attack by armed and trained terrorists? The Capital wouldn't last 5 minutes.
And let's be brutally honest, if terrorists killed the US President would any of the people commenting here genuinely care? Politics aside, I wager most wouldn't. After all, the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants alike. There's nothing Americans like more than seeing their old corrupt presidents overthrown and replaced, whether violently or non-violently, every 4 years or less. I guarantee the people claiming here this could never happen are the same people who'd be praising the death of Biden or Trump (choose your poison). There's a reason terrorists go after civilians - people care more about innocent lives than the lives of politicians they hate.
Rare to see a well researched and thought-out comment, but I have to humbly disagree. The secret service isn't just mall security with pistols. If and when an attack takes place on the white house, the secret service has ready access to the armory, making them no less well armed and trained than SWAT officers. Additionally, the president would be escorted to the bunker the moment a threat presents itself. This means that even if the cavalry arrives at a later time, the top government officials would still be 100% safe in the bunker, even if there is an active threat in the white house. Finally, the reason terrorists go after civilians is not because people care more about civilian lives than politician lives. It is instead because defenseless civilians are easier targets than well-guarded politicians.
Secret service has what they call CAT teams. These guys are heavily trained and are heavily armed. Sadly in this case, we never see them. Look at the opening scene in X2. That is a much more realistic version.
What a dumb comment. Any brute force attack on the White House, Capitol, or any federal building in the U.S. would be a complete massacre for the attacking side. Secret Service aren't poorly trained and equipped like you are falsely assuming. Any terrorist threat wouldn't get past the fence without being swarmed and gunned down by Capitol police stationed around the White House 24/7. You bring up January 6th as if you expected law enforcement to use deadly force on a large group of unarmed American citizens. If it were actual armed terrorists they would have been gunned down immediately.

You know it’s funny. This movie came out right along side. Olympus has fallen. And I have to say Olympe has fallen has the better action sequences, and the better actors. But White House down has in my mind the better perpetrators.
I’m sure of you were probably wondering what do I mean by this. Well what I mean is it seems a lot more likely for a group of disillusioned and dissatisfied former American military personnel to stage a kind of attack like this on the White House then it does a group of North Korean radicals . Especially when you consider the fact that it would probably be almost impossible for the North Koreans to even get that number of people over to the United States without setting off some alarm bells.
Yes, having American bad guys does kind of sting in my mind, especially when you take it into consideration the fact of like you know, I’m an American and all that. But overall, like I said, it seems more likely than the other one.
