I would normally not like driving in auto for the gearbox on the track, but man this NSX didn’t skip a beat with selecting gears. Very much impressed by that. Also very well driven by the owner 🙏🏻
Auto is better than anyone ever will be missing shifts and shifting out of optimal point with manual paddles. It's almost never faster unless specific engine breaking scenario possibly.

I have a 2017 NSX in red with ECU tune and downpipes. I love it. It is interesting to see how the electric engines work on track in the video. Usually, when I'm driving, I'm too focused on driving to see when the electric engines assist.
One of my fave cars to use in GT7, and im top 2000 players on the charts. Have to make it heavy-ish with almost 700hp. It falls off hard after the the E Boost falls off. I LOVE the torque vectoring

Maybe it's just me as a Honda/Acura nerd, but I would have loved to have seen the SH-AWD torque vectoring screen on display to see where the power was being sent during the lap.
You know why Honda makes great cars? The design grows on you over time. This model is 8 years old and now I am starting to like it, like it? Love it!! 😍 Most manufacturers design cars which look great when they come out but after two years are dated.
True of bmw too - when the g series first came out I was like 🤮but they are starting to grow on me. F series my favourite now all round car and E has my heart.
Loved the way this guy drives. So calm and smooth yet rapid. Also hugely impressed by the car for flashing the reduced braking warning when he stomped on the carbon ceramics. Its really impressive to see the car knows the brakes are under strain.

I know the owner and I also drove with him on the Nurburgring in this NSX. We managed 7:45,29 with me next to him (106kg) and during traffic. Walter White is a Sniper behind the Wheel.

Honda let their designers run wild with this one. There's a reason Ferrari had 3 of them torn down for benchmarking when my coworker visited the Ferrari factory XD
it was one of the first cars that brought us a generic design, overcomplicated technology with heavy hybrid, screens everywhere and no analog dials, automatic shifting, vacuum cleaner engine, expensive price and a huge distance from its original parent car. this has nothing in common with a real NSX. It should be named Honda Generic
This guy is probably my favorite driver I've seen so far. Excellent corners, flat out, awesome drive! Tire pressures were pretty high though right? Attributing to some loss of grip given the colder temps? I haven't checked what these are going for but I bet they are worth a pretty penny. Like other enthusiasts I'm disappointed by the hybrid system but I think Honda just didn't want to go with a boosted setup and couldn't reach the numbers they wanted NA. Performance wise, amazing. And I think the main thing about the original car they wanted to achieve is the chassis and handling which they nailed! Great video!
Wrong hand position. Part of the braking stability loss was actually compounded by the hand position. The center of pressure from the hands must go through the center of rotation of the wheel, or the arms become an out-of-phase pendulum acting on the steering.
I checked out some interior shots of this car, looks like you can't put your hands nicely inline with the wheel axis due to the spoke placement. I noted he was having to turn right slightly while braking over the crest to avoid going off, that stretch of the track looks nasty off-line. I still thought the deceleration from ~130 mph to 55 mph in cold weather wasn't bad 😅 good work VSA and ABS!
@@joby602 nah, if anything he's not quite close enough, but he may have quite long legs relative to his arms. You should never have straight arms while driving.
It's not a sound generator it's pure intake noise. It sounds like this in the vid because the intakes are right beside your ears (like the gt4rs) so it's overwhelming for the mic
Driving cars in automatic mode on the Nordschleife is really weird. The car definitely doesnt always know the right times to shift in this environment but in all honesty it seems to do a damn good job 98% of the time
This car looks really good. It seems to like the track too, the gearbox is pretty impressive doing his own thing holding the revs and perfect downshifts while being very smooth. I looks like a very well made and executed car. Maybe if this car come out today it would be way more successful I think, Honda was very early to this hybrid tech when only a Prius and some other boring hybrid cars out in the wild.
7:51 ... I think many still remember three subaru gt with more than 350hp, in "very big" difficulty, exactly in this place... very hot. Excellent driving and indeed, very good behavior of this nsx.... nevertheless, I would still like to see this car on this same track, without the electric motors, just with its turbo V6 engine 🤔
I always love the NC NSX, although I do think it needs to be both lighter (maybe 50kg) & more power (maybe 50hp) to make it competitive against rivals like R8 V10. That said, would love to see someone give it a set of coilovers + sticky tires + good aero like this white one, would be interesting to see how great it truly is!
Shame about the piped-in engine noise :( It's even more aggressive in Track mode. But what a car! This is the hybrid future I'm OK with - massive ICE engine and some electric power to fill in the torque gaps. That torque dyno reading is mad. Must be a lot of fun to drive.
Good driving in spite of bad driver position... He's getting full arm extension in turns, it's hard to have good control over the wheel like that. He should move his seat forward or the wheel back a bit if possible...

I was honestly surprised how well the NSX performed. These things went under radar, because they were so overpriced compared to the competition, but you love to see them.

it deserved to be under the radar this car has nothing in common with the real NSX and thats why people where not only surprised but also repelled by its release if it was released under a different name, things would have went differently u can simply take the name of a light, nimble, analog, loud engine roaring and relatively cheap supercar slayer and then produce an expensive, heavy, hybrid supercar thats fully stuffed with technology, automatic shifting, screens and vacuum cleaner noise and expect people to love it... the whole point of the NSX was to be faster then exotic supercars while being way more affordable. But the new NSX was barely even able to compete against the exotics while costing as much or sometimes even more then the competition, costing 160 to 180.000 dollars. ... the car is a joke and forgettable it was one of the first cars to bring us the modern generic design language and nowadays 90% of new super/ hypercars look like that. thanks Honda, great job.

Dutch Heinsenberg is pushing on slow speed corners using all track and flooring it, putting some stress on the rears but on high speed he doesn't lean at all on the fronts.
Good driving but maybe use the paddel shifters for a fast lap... auto shifting is a little bit strange sometimes. And I think you should also fix your seating position more to sitting then sleeping...
Thanks for sharing the video of your car! I was too afraid to race mine, but watching your experience was thrilling. On the other hand the airport rental guys whare totally stress-free using the car there , what they where thinking.
Having been in a crash as a passenger on a race track, and having driven over 500 laps at my local track, I would be without a crash helmet in a car. Just a simple open face helmet, to stop your brain getting smashed to bits when it goes wrong. I know you are competent drivers, but the guy who crashed with me in the car was a very good driver, too. A race series winner, in fact. Strangely, it's always sooooo surprising to people when they crash. But cars crash all the time!

Do you get extra power from the ECU tune?

@@siphesihlemagagula1709 There were competing cars, which cost half as much and performed better. It´s a cool car, i love to see it, but there is a reason why other halo cars like R8 or GTR sold well and this one didn´t, it got outperformed in it´s price range.

this car has nothing in common with the real NSX and thats why people where not only surprised but also repelled by its release
if it was released under a different name, things would have went differently
u can simply take the name of a light, nimble, analog, loud engine roaring and relatively cheap supercar slayer and then produce an expensive, heavy, hybrid supercar
thats fully stuffed with technology, automatic shifting, screens and vacuum cleaner noise and expect people to love it...
the whole point of the NSX was to be faster then exotic supercars while being way more affordable.
But the new NSX was barely even able to compete against the exotics while costing as much or sometimes even more then the competition, costing 160 to 180.000 dollars.
... the car is a joke and forgettable
it was one of the first cars to bring us the modern generic design language and nowadays 90% of new super/ hypercars look like that.

Dutch Heinsenberg is pushing on slow speed corners using all track and flooring it, putting some stress on the rears but on high speed he doesn't lean at all on the fronts.

How come the automatic transmission is not preemptively shifting up even when the engine is bouncing on the rev limiter ?
When did it bounce?
Think I mistook 7000 rpm (and red flashing) as the limiter.
Good driving but maybe use the paddel shifters for a fast lap... auto shifting is a little bit strange sometimes. And I think you should also fix your seating position more to sitting then sleeping...

Having been in a crash as a passenger on a race track, and having driven over 500 laps at my local track, I would be without a crash helmet in a car.
Just a simple open face helmet, to stop your brain getting smashed to bits when it goes wrong.
I know you are competent drivers, but the guy who crashed with me in the car was a very good driver, too. A race series winner, in fact.
Strangely, it's always sooooo surprising to people when they crash. But cars crash all the time!
