LIMITS BIG salmon Bodega Bay and More!!!

- Hey everyone thanks for watching another great video of mine I hope every one enjoys the video. We started the day off the day leaving bodega bay at 5:00 am in the dark we headed out and headed to 22,8 to 23,10 were friend were the day before and it didn't take long and we were in the fish it wasn't red hot but it was consistent and we picked fish after fish off we lost some big fish and caught 5 + silvers coho and every time the rod went off it seemed to be a bigger fish. I don't put all the silver and lost fish in the videos because the videos would be a hour long and I don't think you guys want to see that but we catch cohos and we loose some big kings chinook salmon. We caught 3 fish over 30 pounds and the big fish weight 42 pounds and mike caught it we all had a great time and it will be a hard day to beet. a green rotary killer at 45 feet on the wire seemed to be the hot rod but we cache them on the deep six with the king fisher spoon at 45 feet and the home made flashers did well on the down rigger and 2 pound ball we caught fish on all the rods. The fish started at 75 feet in the morning and moved up the column to 45 feet quick and most of our fish came from around 45- 55 feet. We than headed north to fort ross looking for rock fish and lingcod and it didn't take long and we had fish coming over the side and I caught my first cabezon witch was all some we don't normally catch cabs because they are normally in shallow water not in 100 + feet of water but that's were the lines and rock fish are so that was a great surprise and I caught a nice lingcod. we ended the day with limits of salmon and limits of rockfish and 4 lingcod. for salmon fishing we used cal star, custom mhx rods, finwick and ugly stick with shimano reels, abu line counter, and Penn reels they all have braid on them in 50 lb and 65 lb. We used 40 lb mono leaders with rotary killers, krippled anchovy and spoons and used deep six, 2 pound balls and down riggers to get the baits down for salmon. For rock fish I used cheap 3 in squid rig on a mhx rod with a accurate reel and a trap rig on a gator glass rod with a Penn reel with 65 lb braid. New sub! Great fishing, I have a kayak I fish from... and looking to get into a boat. Any advice? I was looking at a used Sea Hunt 22' (bx22br) which is a bay boat
Thank you I love my kayak it’s easy simple and fun the boats are a lot more work and maintenance I like the center counsel‘s they have lots of room for fishing and they come equipped would like bait tanks and plenty of storage
Having a cabin and a full windshield or an enclosure to get out of the weather is nice but they have less room for fishing figure out what you’d like to do and look at what options that are out there and they say boat stands for break out another thousand I hope this helps and tight lines

@@Luhman the new sea angler out of bodega big boat Rick the Captain likes big numbers of fish and there is one or two in fort Bragg and there might be one or two out of Emeryville or Berkeley look for potluck trips or captains choice you might not get limits of anyone species but a variety I hope this helps and tight lines

Thank you on sun day and the best bite has been out 6 -9 miles off shore from tamales point to fort Ross it’s a big Area but the birds and whales have been key I hope this helps
