I noticed there are a few videos of this out but it is being taught incorrectly I thought Id clear up a few things and make it easier to learn exactly how he does it.

Make sure you put the Capo on the 3rd fret for the tutorial. On the live stream he does it with a capo on the 2nd fret but for the sake of learning it like the original I thought I'd do the 3rd in the video.
The chords to learn for the song are G, Cadd9, D/F# and Emin7. All explained in detail in the video.

As a person who knows nothing about music but really wants to learn to play guitar, I am struggling. People would just throw chords at me and be like "well go on then, play". And I'm like. But. Strum. How do. Please. I really need everything explained, and yours are some very detailed tutorials. I’ve been struggling so much with the slap part! I always feel like I’ve got it down when I start playing it but the longer I go the more off beat it starts to sound. Any further tips to nail that part? Thanks for the video!
Slow it down so slow that it’s easy. Gradually speed it up from there. Or put on a metronome and just practice the slap part

Pretty good tutorial but i think visual cues would be very helpful when you are explaining strumming and notes, anyway thanks for the video. :D
Thanks Sebastian. I actually left out the visual stuff on purpose. I’ve been teaching guitar for 20yrs and I find. My ear is the best and fastest way to become a solid musician as well as internalize the song. The visual stuff takes away from the listening and your brain relies on visual to play it. But I do understand why people put those on the video. It sells better and people learn faster. Just not as well. :(

Sorry to disturb but i've been really enjoying this tutorial and i've been trying my best to learn it and i just have a question about the slapping bit. why do you life your fingers off the chord after every slap? I'd presume it's to mute the strings but they'd be muted by the slap already no?
Good question. I would say for something as unorthodox as a slap it’s best to just do what sounds best. I lift my fingers off as insurance in case the chord will sound. My left hand is pretty developed with muscle memory so fretting a chord quickly is easy. If you can get the right slap sound while fretting the chord then go for it!

I love all of your tutorial! But maybe, if theres people like me that dont really speak english, you maybe should put a picture of the chord that you are playing. I am sure that would really help a lot of people! But good work after all!
thanks! subtitles an option! You're prob right but the amount of time it takes me to do that is quite a bit. Also, I believe what im saying is ultimately the best way to learn. the picture makes you use your eyes not ears to learn. Ears always has better results. Sorry if I couldn't help.

Dead means they make no sound so you have to touch them just enough that they don’t vibrate. Not hard. Just accurate

I'm a tad bit confused on the slap with the Em chord, the way your playing it sounds farrr off to what I'm doing. Is it just down slap up slap like the rest or is it something else?
Slow it down and repeat watch the section. You’ll get it!
at 0:37 in the song there is a chord added after the e minor and i dont know what it is. do you know? it sounds different to most of the chords
no prob! its not really an added chord per say. hes doing a fill similar to the ones he does before. Hes in an Emin chord shape and Hammering on the 5th fret of the 5th string then the 5th fret of the 4th string right after.

If you add the capo do you have to retune the guitar??
You don’t have to but you should. Always tune as the last thing you do before you play

can someone tell me how and if i can do this without a capo??
Hi! It’s exactly the same just move everything down. So pretend the nut is the capo. Ex. If the capo is on the 3rd fret on a song and you’re fretting on the 4th fret. The fretted note is one fret above the capo. So with no capo you’d fret 1 fret above the nut on the 1st fret. Some simple math and it’s pretty easy
