- In this video I'm showing you a p38 restoration - gun restoration in 9mm caliber.
This weapon is marked bw, therefore it belonged to the Bundesvehr. in true, this is a p1 not a p38, because there are so many difference for p38 and p1. For marketing reason i chose p38 in the title of this gun restoration video, because so many people know p38 and not p1.
During the restoration of this gun I had a lot of difficulty with the disassembly operation, this because for an effective restoration the gun must be completely disassembled. And then proceed with the restoration operation.
For the bluing of the weapon to be restored, this time I chose to produce the fero-bronze formula, excellent bluing, it allowed my weapon restoration to have a very fascinating look, precisely to be able to complete the restoration of the gun.

My first gun when I turned 21 here in the states was a Walther P1. I took my concealed carry permit class with it. When I bought it had a decent amount of wear marks from a holster and some pitting and could definitely benefit from a restoration like you did.

Пистолет изначально ржавый до жуткого состояния сохранил все нарезы в стволе и каким то чудом не имеет при этом раковин, да еще и все маркировки в порядке. Туфта, расчитанная на тех, кто оружия в глаза не видел. Явная подтасовка стволом в хорошем сохране.
согласен. я когда револьвер и венгерскую винтовку находил так и не смог привести в порядок из за глубоких раковин.
И пружины целые, не рассыпались, волшебство.

Very nice restoration! The P1s don't have much collector's value, so restoration was the way to go with this gun. You definitely brought it back from near junk to a marketable state.
The firearm was rusted shut yet the slide springs still looked to keep full tension. Walther really does make excellent weapons.
Everything is oversized. This type of guns are made for "resist".
The Product Made in Germany like BMW, Porche, Audi, Benz, etc

Именно этот ролик показывает скорее углублённую чистку оружия а не реставрацию Ржавчина была поверхностной разрушение деталей практически не было такое состояние оружие может прийти валяясь на антресолях дома 100% не из земли выкопали или не из воды вытащили просто Дедушкин пестик из старого комода.

My dad brought one of those home from Berlin in 1946. He traded it for a gun shy Coon Dog that ran off the first time he fired his shotgun. I always wondered what that Pistol would have looked like. Very nice job. Somewhere here I have an owners manual for a Parabellum. It's all we have left of that pistol.

The quality of your videos and your restorations is outstanding. And it gets better 🙂
A little tip from someone who knows a bit about guns. When cleaning the barrel, the wire brush should always be pushed completely through so that the brush hairs are free. It is simply not good if the brush hairs rearrange themselves in the barrel. I've noticed that a few times in your videos. You do a really good job, but this is really a very unsightly mistake.
Вранье! От ржавчины на поверхности металла остаются характерные каверны. А тут их нет ни на одной детали. Пистолет намеренно загрязнен и потом очищен ради ролика. Особенно порадовал нулёвый ствол!

C 1957 года выпускались пистолеты двух моделей: Р1 и Р38. Р1 выпускались для нужд бундесвера, а Р38 - на экспорт и для нужд полиции. Отличительной чертой обеих послевоенных моделей является облегченная на 100 г литая рамка из алюминий-скандиевого сплава. На тайм к. 10:53 видно что рама пистолета из ал.сплава .😅
Вот всегда приятно встретить оружейников профессионалов.
Так там про al и сказали.
До 1963 они маркировались как p38, только после официального конкурса на пистолет для армии который назывался p1 его выиграл p38 и потом на все армейские варианты наносилась маркировка p1, для коммерческой продажи оставили p38

Приятно было посмотреть на сборку/разборку. Готовый результат приятен глазу.
Уж больно пружинки в хорошем состоянии, а они в первую очередь сгнивают.))))
Это зависит от среды пребывания изделия, в своё время я нашёл такой и всё сохранилось, только пружина обоймы подсела, а вот только реставрацию производил совсем не так. Первым делом не неделю в керосин, а потом разборка и чистка ----- СОРОК одна деталь !!! При том очень-очень много мелких , одним словом изделие очень сложное и сборке подлежит в строгой последовательности , потому в полевых условиях , лучше не разбирать .

Меня терзают смутные сомнения. Был рабочий Вальтер,слегка заржавленный,возможно специально.
Во всяком случае, прибор в запущенном состоянии был недолго. Речь скорее идёт не о реставрации, а приведении в рабочее состояние.

Да он изначально был в неплохом состоянии), пара часов в отработанном машинном масле - разборка, сборка и чистка - и всё в рабочем состоянии, разве что не так эстетично, как в ролике

This is not a P38! This is a P1 that was made after the war. The German armed forces used it until the 1970s.

Major difference between P38 and P1 is the P1 uses an alloy frame.
