Great video and you got yourself a new subscriber as well. One rules question: when you played Hail Hydra for Red Skull, didn't you need to add the discarded civilians to the threat meter of Red Skull?
@Frederic Michaux I know I missed adding to the threat meter once, so the game should have ended at 19 ... so a bit too close!! :) And thanks for watching and subscribing! Very much appreciated! :)
I got the ultimate pledge for a fair price and I am stoked at the amount of content. The gameplay is simple yes but offers a lot of strategic value as you must balance your thoughts, civilians, crisis tokens and the need to fill those mission cards to be able to hit the main villain. I like this a lot. Plus the minis for painting are fantastic.
Thanks for writing. I own all Arcadia quest and masmorra content plus starcadia. They do a great job at minies and content. Quality is superb and the gameplay very engaging. A lot of people dis Arcadia quest in favor to starcadia but for me they, although similar mechanics, feel like a different game. Great video it clarified a lot. I didn’t knew you you’re the actions of the previous cards. I might had miss that in the rules so I was struggling with just the actions of one card. Thanks.
It's possible that someone has already asked this, but if you had to choose, which Marvel game would you keep in your collection based on how many times you will play it?
Only 1 Marvel Game!? Not sure I could do it. Marvel Champions and Marvel Zombies are my top two right now. And I still have Marvel Legendary. Marvel Splendor is still on my shelf, and just recently got Marvel Age of Heroes. I have sold Marvel United ... but to a friend, and I still play with him in his game group. :)
I want ALL the minis to paint but it looks like they wouldn't really do much different so I don't think it's worth investing in buying from the resellers. I'm just sad I missed the damn kickstarter. So many minis for so little! The X-Men kickstarter is live but I'll settle with the base game because honestly, I don't know 95% of the stretch goal characters. Thanks for the playthrough!
15:40 rules question would be. do you track the health of thugs or it has to be one shot? if its resolved similar to Ultron Drones in Marvel Champions then after you hit thug with 1 health and defeat a threat he should die maybe
Just got this game from my best friend as a birthday present, was lookin on solo playthru and then saw your cards are sleeved, how do you store them on the box? Cause if i sleeve them, the cards wont fit on the left and right side (cause i put all the tokens on the middle one). Any help would be great! Also great video! I love it
@BigMag173 Due to the amount of content, I have "unsleeved" them, since there isn't much shuffling. Another thing I generally do, that makes some people cringe, is I throw away the inserts and use deck boxes and other small boxes for tokens. Hope that helps! :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer ahhhhhh got it, so you just throw the insert and use another smaller box to organize them right? A couple of rules questions for you: Stark Labs allow you to exchange a card in your hand for one in the Storyline. If you hadn’t been collapsing the Storyline for space conservation, could you exchange a card from anywhere in the Storyline? Also, at one point Red Skull’s BAM! was activated which does one damage to each hero at his location, and the added caption said luckily there were no thugs at their location either. What difference would that make? Thanks for all your great play throughs!
@cptmark427 Thanks for watching! For your questions, yes, any card could have been exchanged in the storyline, and for the caption related to henchmen, they do extra damage during a BAM! Hope that helps! :)
Dude I did my first solo of any game with Marvel United and watching your video. I played along just so I can understand what's going on and next thing you know I'm doing my own thing. You rock my dude! I have a couple questions though. If you're playing solo and you play a ironman card with a special effect and then play another ironman card with no special effect can you then use the special effect of the previous card since it's the same hero? Also can you use action tokens on the active hero the same turn it received those action tokens?
@Ezrio_YT Congrats! :) The only powers you get from the previous card will be the 1 or two powers on the bottom of the card, not any text or special items in the middle. As for the last question, I forget, but something like that does sound familiar. :)
Hi Dale! Don't you plan on playing games with some of the stretch goals or the expansions. Or even some other modes? I like playing heroic mode: this way, each hero feel very unique.
A few questions: Do threat cards take immediate effect like “Entangling Trap”? Where hero’s need 2 move actions to move but what if we can’t... I’m confused there. And also Taskmasters copycat. If it’s the start card would it count as overflow.??? 😵
Villain cards resolve from top to bottom, and yes, if a hero needs 2 move and only has 1, he is stuck. So hopefully another hero can help him out with card play ... and also yes, overflow can start immediately. This game can be very random because some of the villains have nasty cards and if those come out first, it's gonna be tough getting started. Good luck! :)
How do you use the other villains? Looking at the cards, only Red Skull has the villainous plot tracker on his card. Dont the other villains need that? (dont have the rules)
@Armando Valladares I mainly use DragonShield clear matte sleeves. They are on the expensive side. I had used Fantasy Flight sleeves for a long time and for similar quality would recommend GameGenics or Sleeve Kings for similar quality for Fantasy Flight. Hope that helps! :)
