gimp workshop Don't be sorry. It makes sense if I am using a lower resolution jpeg that would be the case. I just didn't think of it until it happened lol
i can only agree with the other users: your videos are on of the best videos on u tube. Still wonderful even after 6 years. Thank u so much. Greetings from Hamburg😀
#1 I love how you speak clearly and are not trying to "speed talk" #2 You tell and show exactly what you are doing. #3 you don't zoom the cursor all over the place. These reasons and may more make your videos the best tutorials on UA-cam. Many thanks from an old geezer trying to learn something new.
I have to say it again...this is the absolute best gimp tutorial channel on youtube. These videos are so well made and easy to understand. Other gimp youtubers need to take notes. This is how you do it.
Thank you very much, Paige White, for your encouraging and positve comment.😊 I am happy with your supportive compliments and I hope you have a lot of fun with Gimp and the tutorials.👍 Have a wonderful weekend! 😎Thank you again. Jan. GW.
Wow, you are really, really good. Your art is absolutely fantastic, however, the part that has impressed me the most, is the way you take the viewer through the steps. You"re not rushed, you explain each step so thoroughly and you are precise. I think you're by far the best I've seen. Congratulations, everything you've done has been so well thought out. Thank you.
Jan, I hit the like button when you said the style of art you were going to follow, I wanted a double like for the music! Thank you for taking your time to do this and your English is better than a lot of my countrymen ;-) West
Hi, Surin Farmwest 😃. Thank you so much for taking your time to like and post your very nice comment. I am glad that you enjoy this tutorial; wonderful 👍. I must say, that my English is slowly improving haha. Have a great day. Jan, GW.
I enjoy Jan's musical choices as well. I am so sick of hearing hip hop that is always so loud. And being from America may I say I understand you perfectly.
Hey Rick03038. Much appreciated!! I always try to match the music with the subject of the tut and not to overdo it. It's nice to read that it is noticed. 😃 Thanks.
👍 Jan. (I have no idea how Google translates all this... haha. But you get the message I hope.)😃
Really good tutorial. Inspiring, simple, effective, and delivered in a clear, comprehensive, easy to understand fashion. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Hi Andthepoi AntiFash 😄, You are very welcome, thanks for taking the time to post your inspiring comment. It is much appreciated. Best regards, Jan. GW.👍
Hello Jan, the topic pop art was completely to my liking. Once more you explained every step very clear. You have been able to impress me with some new tools. (Ink tool + the GEGL operation) Thank you very much. I wish you a nice weekend and many new tutorial ideas. :)
Hey there, Amy Russell again haha 😃 That's nice to read and thank you for your kind comment of course, I appreciate it very much, you can be sure of that. 👍👍 (So much to discover in Gimp don't you think?) Have a good weekend 😎. (My 'idea list' is actually growing fairly long 😂 lol, but thank you)
@@gimpworkshop9729 I do have one question, when I try this technique I just get basically a black blob for the lines of the hair and not distinct ones like you. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Hi@@gatorgrowl7325, It's hard to tell from here, where it goes wrong...😮 I can only say that it is very important to check and compare each and every setting you have, with the ones in the video, also the ones that are not mentioned. Sorry that I can not be of more help...😔 Best Jan.
@@gimpworkshop9729 I figured out what the problem was, finally!! The size of the image I was using was smaller than the one you used in the example. So I needed to adjust the paintbrush and ink tools sizes.
Hey,@@gatorgrowl7325 😃. I am so glad that you found the solution and... just as glad that you posted it. I will definitly mention it more often in the tutorials so other people don;t have to go through the same annoying search. Thanks for the input 👍👍👍
Jan, Thank you for this video. It explains a lot of techniques in a way I can understand and use for creating my stencils for airbrushing and cutting them with my cheapo chinese laser.
Hi Rick03038. Thanks for posting. I am glad the video helps in some way. I googled cheap chines laser and it's interesting to see how that works. It's a whole new area for me. Never heard of it before haha. Thanks again. Best, Jan.
@@gimpworkshop9729 Its a matter of getting the speed and power correct for stencil material. A lot of people use a 40 watt laser and I have a 2.5 which certainly melts the stencil material....lol. Its an experiment for sure....lmao. A little smokey as well...cough cough
Thanks so much MAK9 Marcos, for your kind comment post.👍 I have noticed before that you often say 'we' instead of I. Are there more of you haha? (Maybe you have a group Gimpers over there?😉 😊 😋) Have a good weekend. Jan.
This is a great turotial..thankyou. One question when i save or export the image from gimp. the resolution and size is quite small. I would prefer a large size and resolution for printing onto larger paper or canvas for wall art..What am i doing wrong? please.
Groeten Kees
👉👉👉 When you use an image with a different size then the one in the tutorial, you might need to adjust some of the given values in the tutorial. 👈👈👈
gimp workshop Yes.... I found that out the hard way....lmao
Sorry about that... 😕
gimp workshop Don't be sorry. It makes sense if I am using a lower resolution jpeg that would be the case. I just didn't think of it until it happened lol
ahha,, yes, realised when id used a lower res pic, it looked like a child with a massive marker had done it. wasted a lot of time learning that !!!

Hello Jacinto Guardado 😃En cuatro palabras, ¡muchas gracias! (For your nice comment) 👍
Great tutorial . I'm subscribed!
Hallo Jan. Wat een prachtige video weer! Ik hou ervan! 🤗
Heel erg bedankt Jan en tot ziens.
(DeepL traduction 😉)
Ha die Clochette BZH 😃 Leuk commentaar weer haha. Dank je wel hoor! Wat betekent DeepL traduction? 😧Sorry...
Maar...................... Jan.......... In feite spreek je heel goed Frans, goed gedaan! 😂
