      Dude! You're doing this the hard way! Cut out the primary person/object, put into a new layer, filters -> posterize -> play with 3-7 colours to pick one that looks right, swap the colors to your liking with the bucket fill tool, and do your cool trick with the 50% overlay layer for shadows. Done. Easy, peasy, Japaneasy.

    So I went into soft soft and tried to intuitively grasp the basic fundantals. And now listening back I feel like I'm one step ahead of Nice tutorialm.

    Thanks a lot mate. Wanted to make a face collage for my girlfriend for her birthday. The first step is to get her face into a cartoonized black and white form. This might just do it.

    First, great video! But when I create the second path for the hair, when I dump the color, it fills the entire selection - not just the hair portion. I have gotten it to work but only on my MAC but it won't work on my PC. I am wondering if there's some sort of setting that's different? Any ideas what it could be? I am doing performing the same exact steps. Thanks!

    I've been trying to add a second path as you mentioned for hair. I put the outer boundary as a tough line as you said it doesn't matter for outside but inside should be proper. When I color it the whole gets colored and I can't see an overlay like you so that only subject gets hair color

    I am trying this with a more complex image, and wonder what i can do for the eyes when they are closed, and what if the person is smiling? teeth and everything. I could recommend a video for people who plan on doing this on pictures with more then one person in it. each person has their own expression.
    But any tips you could give me, Would be great!

    • @fDFerozDaniel
      @fDFerozDaniel  7 років тому +1

      You can also use pencil to draw the region and fill it with the Color. But for Teeth path tool is best. If the Subject is smiling use pencil tool to draw the Cheek Impressions

    It would be great if someone explained what the meaning of foreground and background actually is, I can see I can change FG and BG colors and then apply them to anything, but where exactly are these foreground and background in our image, or in layers, how are they technically defined?

    I like your concept... but the music is loud and distracting... and your instructions are only on the screen for a fraction of a second... so you have to keep going back a feew seconds, over and over... and coupled with the music... it gets tedious.
