I enjoyed all three of your videos. When I was a kid my mother bought a red one just like that. After Christmas she put it near the wall of the house outside. We live in Central FL. It grew into a huge bush for years and was there when we finally moved out after selling that house. Yes the do go all green and people always asked what the huge bush was in the back yard. I got a pink one this year that I hope to do the same thing with. I hope to put it out in the front yard after the winter is over. It just has to survive indoors until spring. I have not seen any other videos like this so thanks for sharing.

Hi! How did the propagation go? Can you update on if it survived, if so, how long? And what would you have done differently (if anything)? My mom just gave me a poinsettia as a new year gift today lol. Thanks!

Great info Brad, a friend just had given me 2 poinsettia plants, a big branch broke. So I knew where to go to find out how to fix it, the correct way. Now I have 3 poinsettia plants! Winning LOL

Cuttings are easy, I've done them before! I cut off ALL leaves and just leave a stick. Keep moist and humid. Happy holidays Brad and Happy new year.

Thanks for the uselful if ultra-simplified video. A few questions: *why* best in Fall? Cutting from new growth or old growth? Surely your audience is more likely to have Perlite to lighten soil, why Orchid Bark??!! Finally, no mention of light conditions or temperature for cutting? Bagging seems to be a great idea which I have not used before with cuttings

Do you make holes on the plastic bag? You watered it once. Is it enough for a month? What's the best month in a year for propagation?

Happy holidays to you and your family. I used to be an interiorscaper and every November would make a purchasing visit to large wholesale greenhouses devoted in the fall to growing poinsettias. The huge beds of red, white and pink are quite a sight to behold. It always amazed me how quickly the cuttings taken in Sept. will grow into market ready plants by Nov.. Of course the temperature, light, etc. are appropriately regulated for best results.

Is perlite mandatory to put in the potting mix ?? Can't we just do with cocopeat, vermicompost ,garden soil and sand mix??

great video. is there any reason I can't do my propagation now? I have an inside green house and since I'm not growing my spring seedlings yet I figure it'll be a good use of my time. btw, my Poinsettia plants are tall and leggy. could you have got two cuttings by dividing the stem into two? I noticed that some people remove all leaves. will that work? ty, John

I guess is necessary to give a original credit name of this flower that it's called in mexico as "flor de noche buena" that means holly night flower and it is one of the main Christmas symbols in Mexico

Sap of poinsettia can cause blindness. Better wear gloves while handling plant especially if you are going to cut n sap will ooze out
