    Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much. I did manage to find some help to save my poinsettia from last Christmas and it is doing well. This will take me to a new level. Thank you also for keeping the instructions clear simple and informative

    Very cool! Home Depot had them for $1.98 so I got a red one and a pink one and I already split it up into a few branches for propagating!

    What month did you put your cuttings in your mixture? How many months does it take for the cuttings to develop into a mature poinsettias?

    what is the name of the rooting that you use for good night flower cuttings??

    Dear Gary, when growing non-swamp or aquatic plants you should have holes in the growing pots. That's right to know.

    I enjoy your videos, and you mentioned propagating lilac. I have what I think is a redtwig dogwood that I want to propagate but I'm confused about the difference between hardwood and greenwood cuttings, the proper medium and time of year, etc. My plant was just a twig handed out at Greenfield Village 2 years ago and I'm not even sure exactly what it is (doesn't look as red as yours, and shaped more like a tree than a bush) but I thought a video on propagating shrubs like lilacs might be helpful.

    Sir
    Is water added to growing media before cuttings are planted regarding this video ? I found that only water is sprayed on leafs .

    • @GaryHeilig
      @GaryHeilig  4 роки тому

      If I remember correctly, it was August which was a bit late to start.

  • @mabaza64

    What is the best time to start this process ?
    Isn’t August kind of late?

    • @GaryHeilig
      @GaryHeilig  4 роки тому +3

      Yes, August was quite late. Depending on the ultimate size you want and the quality of light you have, will determine how much time you will need. In 2020 I plan to move my plants outside in May. That is also the time I will start cuttings. They took so long to root that by December the plants were only about 4-5 inches tall. I wanted 8-10"

      Did you do it on May? Did it work well?
      My experience with trimming on July was disastrous lol. The plant died because I didn’t leave any leaves. This year it survived.

    Sir ,can I grow this flower from cutting in the month of October

    • @GaryHeilig
      @GaryHeilig  3 роки тому +1

      Starting in October does not allow enough time for the plants to grow. I would start in July with the cuttings. Save your plants from December, grow them as houseplants, put them outside late May to early June (be sure to place them in the shade for 10-14 days before exposing them to full sunlight), then take you cuttings from the new growth.
