A quick an easy fix for when your remote control doesn't seem to be working properly. All you'll need is a pair of tweezers (and fully-charged batteries).
*Love the size and it fits perfectly in a corner but **Fastly.Cool** the whole room. Really like how you can auto adjust how long you want the fan to be on. It is quite but highly effective.*
This video was exactly what I needed even tho my remote and fan are brand new, the springs on the positive side were pressed down too tightly. The remote was working but very poorly and erratically responsive. After pulling the springs out a bit, like the video suggests, it is much much better. However I will say that Lasko could use improvement in the remote control area
After reading further down in the comments ..I think everyone who's remote is still not working should call Lasko and request a replacement. With this many ppl having problems, you can best believe they already know there's an issue. #Powerinnumbers
My remote doesn't look exactly like the one in the video (it's all black plastic, for one). It's a stand fan I bought at Costco. My problem is I can't open the remote's battery door. It's apparently a common enough problem that reviewers on Amazon have also had. I can't use the remote until I can open the battery door. I'd like to see a video of how to get it open -- I've never had a problem opening a remote's battery door before. This is a new fan, and I can't even budge the remote's battery door.
This solved my problem but as already said battery contacts should be designed, Other devices I have use use a spring for the flat bottom of the battery and a flat plate for the projection end of the battery. Then you insert the battery at an angle and compress the spring with the "flat" end of the battery until you can insert the projection end against the "flat" surface. With the Lasko "design" the smaller spring got tangled up itself unntil it must no longer make contact.
my lasco remote works just fine i push the buttons and it responds but it does not power on my heater. every time i search for trouble shooting tips on why my lasco cc23630 is not responding after i literally just received it is killing me.
Suddenly died on me tonight. Fan turns on and off with just pointing remote at it but doesn’t do other functions. Still not working. Pulling the coils makes batteries not fit. Now as of 1/14/21, I opened the casing and saw hard deposits on the circuit. Scraped them off but still doesn’t work. There’s a syrupy substance on the circuit too.
I have never seen a more cheaply made pedestal fan and remote - ever. I will be looking for something else. If you try to pick it up, the base pole falls off. The remote has no place to store it. AAA batteries do fit so the springs become over bent and don't make contact. Remote looks and feels like a McDonalds toy. Comes with a tiny 1/2 inch cheap velcro to stick on the fan. Can't use high speed because the blades are out of balance. This looks like it belongs on the $5 shelf at goodwill. Model 1850 Lasko Fan - Wow they are cheaply made.
These remotes are junk. Mine have always worked fine, but have fallen apart because they're so cheaply made. Sad to see a good product (the fan) paired with a shoddy remote.
This is all well and good for an old used remote but for a brand new remote from the factory I doubt the springs are weak and not making contact. This just proves that Lasko is just a bunch of charlatans that only are interested in stealing money from unsuspecting customers stupid enough to purchase their products.

I have a different type remote control. The one that slide and it's too hard to open. It doesn't slide and I can't put the batteries.

Thanks for the tip, that seemed to work.
Thanks so much...pulling the springs out a little bit on the positive side worked!!

Same here. I think I’m about to take a knife to it to pry it open
Worked for me. Thanks 👍🏻

After the 2nd try, this worked. Had to pull springs out a little more than 1st attempt. And bingo remote works again. Thank you!

Thank you thank you thank you
My remote has power but no longer works, anyway to reset it
Mine never worked. The batteries would just get hot so I just never bothered with it
I bought a new remote from Lasko.com, it only turns "on" and "off" the fan, no other functions. What can I do to resolve this?
I just bought one from amazon and the remote doesn't work and has never worked
I hope all lasko heaters and fans has filters! All heaters has fan only mode!
Guys thanks for the email but it was not the remote, but the fan itself stopped working.
Anyone else have the issue of an Amazon Firestick remote controlling their Lasko heater??
