I married my high school sweetheart and my gut instinct told me as a young teenager that their was something off about him but I didn’t listen obviously.Not until a few years ago I heard and learned about narcissism

TRUTH! As a young woman I fell for it hook line and sinker but I’m not naive anymore, I always learn from my mistakes.
I was 20. I saw the signs but was too traumatized to do anything about it. Now I realize I'm autistic and that played a part.

As much as I don't want to admit it. Yes, I was naive. Not divorced a year and fell completely for all of the lies. I'm thoroughly disgusted with myself.
Don't beat yourself up. You (like me) just didn't know about narcissism. But I'm grateful for the learning experience.

There are times when I wish I no longer looked so young because I'm still a target for psychopathic older men who think I may not be wise enough to notice how manipulative they are. It's exhausting. If there is such a thing as "being in one's prime," then I wish I could be past it.
