Update: Would not recommend running these with carbon fiber/fiberglass hood. It put a lot of stress when closing it so highly recommended. Work perfectly on OEM hood though. Im still using it, I just remove the locking pin for quick attach/detach manually since my hood is carbon fiber hood.
What do you mean it puts a of stress when closing it? It have a carbon fiber hood like yours so I was considering purchasing this one since the nrg carbon fiber one costs $176
@Terrence George carbon hood/fiberglass hood are lighter so everytime u close it, u will need to add ur weight to bring it down all the way cuz of the hood strut damper. Due to it light weight, everytime u put pressure closing it could potentially bend the hood in long term. I still have mine on cuz it still better than the stick, just that i attach/detach the ball joint area everytime open/close. Hope that make sense.
I had the same issue where it seems to strong for a CF hood. So what I did was install it on the lower bolt on the hood instead of the upper one. This makes the piston at less of an angle. It might not be the right way but it works a lot better now as it does not put strain on the hood. it does not go up as fast but it stays up no problem.

Do you think this will help prevent some of the infamous hood flying up issues? Or is it better to replace the t bracket and then add these hood dampers for extra security?
Thanks. It may help with the hood flying up but i cant guaranteed it since i never experienced it myself. If you want the best security for holding down the hood, then hood pins are ur best bet.

All Fit Lip, just a stick on lip. Way better and more durable than EZ lip
It appears you installed it backwards. The canister that the strut rod goes in is the part attached to the hood not the body of the car.

How are these holding up so far?
Still good, only recommend on non-carbonfiber/fiberglass hood though if u want to use the shock where it automatically open it self. For my carbon hood, i just remove the locking pin completely and manually attach/detach when open/close. Still gave a lot of room and doesnt block the intake manifold
