Nah, it's a 2.4L 250WHP and 190 lb-ft is actually VERY solid. It's about 290 crank HP and 220 crank lb-ft. Or, if you wanna compare directly to a 'muscle car' it'd be.. Well, you kinda can't. This thing revs to the moon and most high cube 8's don't. This car makes 120HP per liter N/A and about 91 lb-ft per liter N/A. I guess if we account for lower revs and say that the high cube 8 would make the same HP as torque, you'd get a 5.7L (350ci) engine putting out 518HP and lb-ft at the crank, or 450 at the wheels. Which is very realistic as far as "the limit" goes, when you consider a H/C/I/E FBO and tune 5.3 LS is doing 415HP or so at the crank. If it were a 4 valve engine (this LS example, I mean) it'd do a little better and match up to the specific output per size, but I digress. My main point is that you're wrong, he built his NA big cube 4 banger right, and can't do much more to it without changing the fuel, or going with a power adder. Hell, if he spliced two of these together, he'd have a Ferarri 458 engine, pretty much. Nice review and nice to see some honest engine power numbers too.... I have seen many people especially from the States try and claim a stock RSX engine will make 250whp with bolt one. I hate that it's rice to look at but engine spec is good. Also it's very common for Hondas to be revving to 9k, most of their engines are good for it.. k20a, b18c, f20c, b16a etc etc
A built 20/24 making 250whp is laughable.... stock motors with bolts ons/cams make more than that.... easy... do your research.... a stock k20a2/z1 will make 220whp avg...

@@RetroExhibitCollective It has nothing to do with the ECU. Unless he switched out the oil pump and built the head completely, then I wouldn't believe all he said.
Tyler T an n/a motor that’s apparently fully built? You should definitely be getting more than 250 😂 especially with 15k into it. Because we know none of that money has gone to interior or exterior mods. So that “15k” that he’s apparently put into it is all in the motor. I’d be embarrassed if I put 15k in a car and only made 250
Jujutsuheiho your bolt on rsx will get walked bad by this. You stand no chance. Chances are you’ll be making much less than what you think your making if you took it to the same dyno this man made 250 at.
preludeF20Bking pretty sure my buddies k20/k24 with an incomplete tune is faster than this. ua-cam.com/video/ISaNg-wL9Iw/v-deo.html and you can see that my white rsx 0-60 is not slow.
Jujutsuheiho a stock g37 is a complete turd compared to this. Also don’t quote magazine times and traps speed because those have proven to be useless in the real world. Realistically a stock g37 will net 100 on average track conditions at a decent elevation. G37 is not even comparable to this rsx in any way shape or form.
Jujutsuheiho I’ve seen the video. We don’t know the DA of both locations and also one was filmed on what was probably a chilly night vs a hot day. I don’t see a bolt on k20 beating this rsx. I’ve never lost to any Si of any gen or rsx in my prelude F20b swap. I’ve even beat a k20 swap integra da9 that ran 13.2 on the 1/4 mile running only header and exhaust with a tune on kpro. That integra has beat h2b and other k swaps too.
I would have to agree with alot of people commenting and I've done a ton of research on K-series motor builds and I've owned 20 Hondas(8 hatches) and currently own an RSX Type S that may be my next build project. 13.0 to 1 compression, big cams, 80mm throttle body and ported everything:-) should put this car to at least 280-300 at the wheels with a GOOD tuner, especially at over 9,000rpms. Maybe it's not dialed in, maybe cams aren't as aggressive as most stage 3 cams are, but 250 wheel horsepower would have been easily attainable without that high of compression and that level cams. Otherwise, car sounds great, pulls hard and does what he wants it to do. Overall, nice build and respect to the owner. Anyone who has priced out an all motor build with quality parts knows that this is a very expensive motor to build RIGHT.
This engine is built😳 my shit ain’t even built and I made 232whp easy with 200wtq and all I did was a factory prb oil pump swap on a 08 k24a2 yeah see it’s stock Block k24a2 with a prb head swap that swap alone is 260whp alone STOCK I’m all about stock factory build using different pistsons from other honda k series engines with high compression and upgrading valve train with stock oem parts ,like the rsx type s has duel valves springs but u have to buy the inner springs as an upgrade they don’t come with from factory..if I swap the same head on my k24 block with I’m soon to do,on my block now and I’ve had this swap now for 5years and a few months and on same 5 year old tune and once I swap the head with the stock factory upgrade mods I’m gonna do with using higher compression Piston’s either form 09+ tsx R40 or the ap2 s2000 Pcx Piston’s and inner valves springs for added support at high rev witch I’m already at 8500k prm and still can go to 92/95k but I was more then happy at 8500k but once I get my motor set up the way I want I’ll be at 280ish easy with stock oem parts specs and all 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼it’s my endurance build as a daily street car set up..
It's actually not lol. You're looking at the small tacky crap that he put on that stands out which I dont really like either lol. Cosmetically, I do not like what he did but in terms of his NA build it's legit.
Kimron Mills k20a is only rated around 170whp or a bit less. How do you think you are picking up 50+whp from bolt ons?
elliot438bcfc The engine actually responds very well to bolt ons.
Classy Chris yes they do but those would be ridiculous gains. Most n/a 4 bangers barely gain anything with bolt ons
elliot438bcfc The numbers don't lie. Bolt ons and a tune and you'll be around 210 whp. Look it up if you don't believe it.
Nice vid, like the car and the way it is portretted. Goodjob and keep up the goodwork
So much money into this car and sooooo slow that is crazy
Dylan, your wrx is just as riced as this DC5
Fully built engine and 105mph in the quarter?! Whoa!!!11!one!
Sound is subjective
The use of the word "rice" is subjective
looks are subjective
stop hating on this build. i think it looks and performs great
> Everything is subjective
> Stop your opinions of the build
nice RSX... I loved the vid very professional editing
Hey how about y'all get your own RSX and customize it how you like it? Its his car let him do what he wants it's not my cup of tea but its not my problem. Most of these guy are 12 or drive their moms Camry. He doesn't "need" to do anything to the car if he doesn't want to.
that exhaust note is crazy !
0:59 just as I expected. A clown drives this.
love this channel, awesome job bro 👍👊
nice video..now a boosted honda
Should get kyles hatch from boostedboiz
Casomii that would be 1million views in a day
That exhaust sound has NFU2 all over it. Love it!
250 hp with a fully built engine?? 🤔
Can't wait to get my RSX done for you guys to review! 2 more f***** years lol!
Wait... 9300 rpm with a k24 block? Seems suspicious..
derek m it could be a flashes ecu
@@RetroExhibitCollective It has nothing to do with the ECU. Unless he switched out the oil pump and built the head completely, then I wouldn't believe all he said.
@Tyler T put over 15k in the car and only makes 250 whp out of a "fully built" k24/20? nah.
Tyler T an n/a motor that’s apparently fully built? You should definitely be getting more than 250 😂 especially with 15k into it. Because we know none of that money has gone to interior or exterior mods. So that “15k” that he’s apparently put into it is all in the motor. I’d be embarrassed if I put 15k in a car and only made 250
9k would blow k24 bottom end in no time at all
i want that in my 01 mr2. thank you for helping me make that decision . that sounds like music .
Stop giving me these ideas Marcus
Really cool built
P.s.....its not a wing it's a spoiler.. wings are for planes and create lift spoilers do the opposite and create downforce...add beans to your rice
*Uh...what? GT wings are for cars, last time I checked.*
FYI.....Spoilers are also for planes
COMRADE DONALD TRUMP what does it do???
Aerospacepilot spoilerons...i looked it uo
Up
I love the badge corrections on this car.
Lol wtf did I just watch. Slow ass k series. Dude lied to you man haha smh
Sounds amazing.
105mph trap speed with a built k20/k24 is pathetic. This is not a drag car... My RSX with stock k20 bolt ons would beat this car.
Jujutsuheiho your bolt on rsx will get walked bad by this. You stand no chance. Chances are you’ll be making much less than what you think your making if you took it to the same dyno this man made 250 at.
preludeF20Bking lol stock g37 gets a 105mph trap speed. I eat g37s all day in my car... So I doubt it's beating my car
preludeF20Bking pretty sure my buddies k20/k24 with an incomplete tune is faster than this. ua-cam.com/video/ISaNg-wL9Iw/v-deo.html and you can see that my white rsx 0-60 is not slow.
What are the rim details? Model, size, offset
Having owned one I can say what you have done to the styling of this car is atrocious. Mechanically a great car minus the cheap muffler.
people hate on it so much but you got to realize this guy built the car how he wants and how he likes it and thats what matters
trap speed so low for 250whp...
4.3 final drive would do that to you.
I ran 14.3 @ 104mph in an rsx stock tsx long block & supporting mods etc.
4.7 final drive needed.
can someone please tell me what exhaust is on that thing it sounds sooooo good and I want one for mine
It's 2736... For the type s which is used in most people's peformance builds, including this one. Don't twist the numbers
Where was the rear emblem purchased... what car was it off of
why go na when you can go turbo
Cuz aint no bitch
You have no idea what kind of power a 500HP NA k series make... turbo or supercharged have no luck....
This car has been blown up sadly... But also a little ricey but I'm a little ricey too lol
Not shocked it's been blown up
This engine is built😳 my shit ain’t even built and I made 232whp easy with 200wtq and all I did was a factory prb oil pump swap on a 08 k24a2 yeah see it’s stock Block k24a2 with a prb head swap that swap alone is 260whp alone STOCK I’m all about stock factory build using different pistsons from other honda k series engines with high compression and upgrading valve train with stock oem parts ,like the rsx type s has duel valves springs but u have to buy the inner springs as an upgrade they don’t come with from factory..if I swap the same head on my k24 block with I’m soon to do,on my block now and I’ve had this swap now for 5years and a few months and on same 5 year old tune and once I swap the head with the stock factory upgrade mods I’m gonna do with using higher compression Piston’s either form 09+ tsx R40 or the ap2 s2000 Pcx Piston’s and inner valves springs for added support at high rev witch I’m already at 8500k prm and still can go to 92/95k but I was more then happy at 8500k but once I get my motor set up the way I want I’ll be at 280ish easy with stock oem parts specs and all 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼it’s my endurance build as a daily street car set up..
Not even Type S🥺
0:15 I’ve NEVER seen ash like that in my entire life.
“ type r ep3 seats “ 🤔
The UK EP3 got a Civic Type R
Bought a 02 fully built Rsx type s! This video inspired me 1 year ago! Had dreams of turbo Rsx. Seen this video and said f&@$ that!!!!!
eBay built Rsx :(
It's actually not lol. You're looking at the small tacky crap that he put on that stands out which I dont really like either lol. Cosmetically, I do not like what he did but in terms of his NA build it's legit. He briefly mentioned he has a tsx bottom end, k20a topend, bigger cams, valve springs, higher compression CP pistons, 80mm throttle body, everything forged/ported, and so on.
@@christophchoe but is making terrible power for the build.
Civic Touge build right here. The only stickers on my car are those of the car club.
The love for JDM has distorted this channels view of a quality build. Btw, it sounds like a typical riced out Honda with no power.
It's easily faster than a stock STi or Evo from a roll... If 280+ crank hp/1200 kg is not enough for you, then whatever floats your boat. :)
TassieLorenzo so it still gets left by a ecu flashed sti/evo... lol
This car is not what it claims to be. Makes real RSX owners look bad.
Tuner is a built car tuned engine and a great race or sports car. Ricer or rice burner is a crotch rocket sport bike originally, an also applies to those Honda’s or small tuning car platforms with bum motors eBay turbo kit and all the trim from autozone
Don’t waste your time building an RSX when you can have an S2K that comes from factory revving to 9k rpm... and it’s rwd
Kseries is a better motor to build more support then f20c or f22c though
Brian Bautista k series definitely has more support but the f20/22c is built pretty damn good from the factory
@@LgSnip3z You don't need more support though, the f series has MORE then enough to build from it's not like it needs absolutely everything. Plenty if companies make full n/a kits and everything, if you want something for this car someone's made it
Robotic Venom I agree with you on that and it doesn’t take much to make big power, I just wish the F20/22c got more love but all I ever see is civic fanboys with k and b series
@@LgSnip3z Pretty much! It's one of my dream cars for a reason, and I'll definitely build one with a kraftwerks supercharger kit on it too
Since everybody I am here seems to like candles I just wanted to give some advice. Yesterday I installed some Ksport aluminum shift bushings, delrin pivot ball and ct shift springs and it made my shifter feel 10x better, much more precise, crisp and smooth. Fuck a short throw shifter and expensive ass cables. Just do the bushings, pivot ball and springs and it makes it worlds ahead of a short throw and expensive cables. Fact. I removed my short shifter after installing these simple cheap mods and it soooo much better now. Also installed syncrotechs carbon fiber syncros in 1-4th and now i never have trouble getting into hear and missing shifts, plus it makes them indestructible. They are only 270.00
Didnt he blow his engine? Lol
Yeah dude hahaha, Kits driving a silly lifted 2wd silverado now hahaha.
Sean O'Hara no shit lol?
Say it tooo his face or dont say it at all

New subscriber here great video man
All that money spent it still sound like a hungry bee no
So......? :) It sounds great, a 2.4L four cylinder is half of a ~4.8L V8. I take it you don't like E30 M3s ua-cam.com/video/gGTzaeXpbsM/v-deo.html or Alfa Romeo 105 GTVs ua-cam.com/video/Qpd1vimkoX4/v-deo.html either? Some kind of illogical dislike for four cylinder engines?
TassieLorenzo amen!
TassieLorenzo not all four cylinders sound the same thats fucking obvious lol a all motor honda just sounds like shit simple
TassieLorenzo yes 23L i4 which sound much better then most honda with a 4 cyl
TassieLorenzo I love the s2k its a 4 cyl but don't sound as bad as this rsx
A Dodge grand caravan rt model will have that car for breakfast and it has a beast of a suspension. Those vans have some umph to them.not only that, the throttle mapping is pretty good. I have no issues with the tranny. Shifts like a dream. I have test driven quite a few cars. Ibhave owned a skyline, to test driven charger rt models and owned quite a few cars. I have come back several times to them and plenty fast to me. Not only that they are tuneable as well and I gotta say there is the satisfaction of being able to hold a tight curve with your in-laws, wife kids cargo and unsecured small dogs hanging on for dear life and still have plenty of power coming out if the corner and you don't even have to floor it. Oh the smile of my face every time. Every time there is family drama I make sure everyone has a vomit bag and extra seatbeats
Fully built rsx and still makes less power than my juke! And looks like riced out trash can!
Yost Built the owner didnt know shit about it
DJ Karma that's what happens when they didnt build it and a shop did !
John Mitchell it's bad when that inbred walks this fully built rsx
John Mitchell they scared of a good time! Or modding jukes is not that big in Japan
Still looks better than a juke
it sounds so good
This is like my dream build but with spoon parts and a j’s racing body kit
how do you make high beam headlight works as the foglight?
Simple kpro and basic bolt ons will make any type s rsx fun.
I'm gonna go steal one...right now!
You mention "A-Spec headlights". Was that a Canadian option for OEM black housing headlights? Or did you mean Type-R headlights?
One dope ass RSX
What exhaust set up is he running?
If a car traps 105 in the 1/4 mile, what’s it’s 0-60 time and quarter mile time in general? May be a dumb question but any help is greatly appreciated
