    Honestly, the driving physics are much more enjoyable on GT Sport than GT7. The oversteer/drift control on sport was great fun with the right setup, you could hold some really nice slides and realistically aswell. You’d still spin out if you pushed too far. The flat cornering was much better aswell in sport because you wouldnt go spinning and flying off the track by going anywhere near the throttle mid turn in a track car🤣. If they released a physics update that made the gameplay behave exactly the same as sport did I’d be so happy. Surely it can’t be that hard to copy and paste the physics from their last game?

      I think if the physics were exactly the same as sport, we’d then have everyone complaining it’s the same game 🤣. I’m sure they will update it and it will improve

    good video!!! i prefer gtsports, not just cuz i think the physics are better, but the game as a whole is also better.
    the only reason why i got gt7 was bcuz it had the MP4/4 car that Senna and Prost drove in F-1. Aaand it turns out, that in order to get it you have to wait for very specific days, for the car to show up in the "historic car collection" menu. I played it with my cousin for a bit when I got it. Haven't touched it since.
    And the physics are just weird. Sometimes they feel forced, like it's an "effect" being applied on the car, instead of that "effect" being a natural reaction of the car, road, etc. Especially the braking, it's just so weird and unpredictable. The self steering for drifting (ackshually"powersliding" if ur a nerd) is very bad and weak. I have a G29, and it simply doesn't self center. I'm having to do super violent wrestling with the steering wheel to barely avoid spinning out. I've cranked the FFB force all the way up and that has made no difference at all.
    And it's not a problem with the G29, bcuz although these wheels are "weak" compared to the real steering forces of a car, in GTSports and Assetto Corsa (especially this one), the self steering force of the G29 works perfectly fine, and you can "drift" as usual. I've been playing those games for years now!!
    but hey i think that maybe they'll update it as they go. just look at how GTSport started back in 2017. i got it on day 1, and I didn't play it at all until the porsche 930 update that was in 2018 or 2019 i think. so maybe in a few years, GT7 is going to be a fantastic game. hopefully lol
    also happy new year sir!!

    • @OllieRacing
      @OllieRacing  2 роки тому +3

      Essentially it’s the rear of the car “snapping” on you, often resulting in a spin. Usually oversteer is a bit more progressive, so you’re able to use it to your advantage to help rotate the car, and if you slide a bit too much you can turn into the slide and correct it. Snap oversteer usually occurs when lifting off the throttle too aggressively mid corner, however on GT7 you get a snap on corner exit too with some cars

    I got a racing wheel specifically for gt7, and then subsequently used that racing wheel on sport after realizing it really doesn't feel good in gt7, it's unrealistically unforgiving with snap oversteer and not being able to counter oversteer without it snapping at the end, tbf I got a wheel for drifting and drifting in gt7 is iffy at best and impossible at worst, even asseto corsa and beam ng is easier and that's closer to real life, really sad when your arcade sim is less fun that legit sims

    i really like the physics of gt5 and gt6 they feel more fun and natural balance over under and oversteer, you can control a spin into drift very easily, the understeer of FF cars and 4wd, awd is very noticeable, then in gt sport the physics is changed completely but the grip and overall feel is still ok, although some cars like huracan act very weird in handling if you fully upgrade it the huracan became very unstable every turn, but still gt sport you can control a spin or a drift easily, but in gt7 i feel like they screwed up the handling physics way too much, you spin too easily doesn't matter if you a re driving a track built gt cars or normal cars, they can snap and feel twitchy for no reason, and the stiffness of the car movement is weird when you are trying to control a spin or oversteer, the car animation is weird and the steering animation as well, it's so frustrating being a long time gran turismo fan and this is what we got in the newest title, i would rather go back and complete the single player of gt5 and gt6 and even gt sport, gt7 handling is too weird and unnatural and not fun at all, i really hope people start to tell polyphony digital about this handling model's problem, it's definitely not this hard to drive and control any car like the bmw m4 in your video in real life, it's a sports car for god sake and yet they felt like dangerous unpredictable car in GT7, it's very unenjoyable

    • @OllieRacing
      @OllieRacing  2 роки тому +5

      I haven’t played GT5 and GT6 for quite a while so can’t really remember exactly how the handling felt - although definitely not snappy. 100% agree with everything you said. As far as I’m aware, polyphony are looking into it and the reason we haven’t had a BoP update is because they are looking into the physics first before changing the BoP as if they adjust the BoP first they may have to do it again if they adjust the physics. 🤞🏼we’ll have a fix soon

    Great video! I've been waiting for someone to post a video that is an actual experienced track driver. I said from launch that the cars need an extra 5% grip at the rear accross the board. I've never seen a Gr3 car spin out doing 115mph on a slight bend at full throttle in perfect conditions.

    Please forgive me for copy pasting this comment I already left on another video, but I would like to hear your opinion on my thoughts.
    I bought GT7 today, after playing GT Sport for a few months after getting my PS5 (was offput by MTX and other silly stuff and decided to try Sport first).
    I had a blast with it. I own almost every car, bar a few of those 20 million ones, ranked 123rd on Nurburgring GP Time Trial, won all the daily races multiple time, I really enjoyed it. It's a polished game. Not 100% true to its predecessors (I played all GT games before Sport) but a good game nevertheless. Physics seemed "artificial" or forced at times, but nothing you couldn't keep under control and learn. Proper braking and racing lines were really rewarded, throttle control not so much (mash and go basically) but still enough to create a skillgap.
    Now GT7... I've played for 4 hours I believe, reached the Tokyo Parade, got all gold licenses except S for now, golded all the cafe crap as well.
    The physics in GT7 are... Unpredictable to say the least. You understeer if you steer too much (which is realistic, don't get me wrong) but there is no telling when it's too much. Braking is crap, all cars seem to have unevenly worn drum brakes, pulling left and right under braking, exaggerated braking distances. Steering is junk, Lap 1 you make it through a fast corner, next time same inputs you oversteer and explode into the barrier, every car feels like it's on the shittiest 20 years old tyres you could find. Unpredictable, forced, artifical. Weight transfer is exaggerated, cars dance around like they are all pulling a badly loaded 750kg trailer, it's just stupid.
    TLDR: I think the physics do indeed suck.
    PS. I almost forgot how utterly idiotic catching a slide looks in this game. You oversteer, turn into the sllide to catch it, slightly lifting the gas if needed, proper technique and all that, and what happens? The tyres are magically sucked into the ground by some mysterious force, suddenly becoming racing hypersofts and the car jerks into an unnatural looking overcorrection. I overcorrected cars IRL many times, but not a single time have I been teleported to the opposite side like GT7 does. Probably related to the exaggerated weight transfer "system".
    PPS. I just have to... I'm sorry but the disappointment is too much, maybe I'm just shit... Rain is... Artificial at best. On the License test with the E30 I believe it was, IB 5 or 6 whatever. It's just soooooo fake! You slide in the same places everytime, lateral grip is non existent but somehow you can floor it in 3rd, it just doesn't make sense.
    I'm done for now, sorry for the very long rant...

    • @OllieRacing
      @OllieRacing  2 роки тому +4

      So I do completely understand your thoughts and frustrations. I myself spent a lot of time on GT sport, even had a star player ranking at one point, however have found myself not really enjoying the physics on GT7 and now predominantly play ACC on PS5 because of the more realistic physics.
      Before the recent physics update on GT7, the weight transfer and loss of traction from the rear was definitely off, resulting in a complete loss of control at times. Like I said in the video - I’ve driven an M4 on track and it doesn’t behave much like it did in the game. I do think the recent update has improved this aspect quite significantly, however has added an extra element of understeer.
      I think the experience does vary car to car though - some do feel quite good, whilst other feel terrible (the Audi R8 Gr.3 for example).
      The online racing is still the best of any racing game on console IMO in terms of being able to jump in a full race full of players of a similar level at any time of day, and having the GT World Series if you want to take it a bit more seriously. However, I would still rather play ACC simply due to how the car feels to drive, despite it being much more difficult to find a race, and having to faff around with leagues etc.
