    Hey Steve, I was RestlessInferno in your lobbies (Blue #91 Ford GT '18). I saw you getting annoyed with Shaggy_doo when you were in some lobbies with me. I can confirm to you and the people in the comments that he had been driving like an idiot for multiple days. Dude was constantly going below the line, blocking people into the wall, and just racing dirty. He even singled me out in 3 consecutive races and intentionally wrecked me because I called him out for dirty driving. Nearly every single race I was in with him he either intentionally wrecked someone or quit the race because he wasn't going to win. And he cost me like 3 race wins by putting me in the wall to win.
    Anyways aside from his shenanigans, it was fun racing with you!

      They get the newest cars there too every gen and as expected have the most people racing there everyday.
      Its also a pure sim so nothing like GT7 simcade, alot harder to drive there aswell... back pre-2015 when i raced oval on iRacing i remember being involved in a small wreck, just bumped someone who had crashed and went to get repairs during the following safety car pace laps, several laps later my engine was overheating because the radiator had been damaged in the crash. Oof!
      Mechanical damage is neat in sims so you cant just ram people with no consequences, protecting your own car becomes more important and youre likely to slowdown when you see yellow flags.

    On qualifying, you have to do a prep lap where you come off the outside lane onto the front stretch to maximize your speed on the start of the Q lap then stay on the inside. That'll get u in the 50.6s
    In the race, stay 2nd until the last lap then in turn one try to back off so maximize draft speed on the back stretch...then you can pass

    To win this race you have to form a small breakaway group of 2 or 3 and do as much bump drafting with them in the opening laps to create a gap behind you. Then odds are easier, keep bumping. On the last lap make sure you are still behind, let up throttle if you have to. You don't have to lead all race, you only have to lead at the end

    • @bbuttons7941
      @bbuttons7941 2 роки тому +2

      I think steve knows that. But creating a small lead group eith three cars is kinda hard. You will have to rely on a crash to achive that.

    • @Super_GT
      @Super_GT  2 роки тому +17

      Creating a breakaway group isn't something you can simply just do. Even if you bump and work together in a group to get away, the group behind can still catch if they work together. In the 12 races I did, breakaway groups rarely happened except for when there was a huge crash (which is different than from bump drafting)

    superspeedway qualifying tip in NASCAR:
    ride up against the wall until your fast lap, then drop to the bottom coming to the line. Sometimes when exiting the corners, drifting halfway up the track at corner exit helps gain momentum down the straights by using the banking to get a little bit of a downhill run

    I would love to see stock cars make it into the game. Like the 90s Lumina and Thunderbird.

    There's one rule in superspeedway races; never bump draft the left rear when in the corner. The left rear tire has the least amount of grip in the corner so even the slightest bump on that side can break traction. Bumping the right corner on the turn can actually stabilize the car in front as long as the car behind isn't sliding back and forth a lot. At one point in nascar, due to the rules package, teams figured out that the fastest way around the track was for two cars to stay locked together the entire lap and then after a few laps they would have to do a little dance to swap places because the pushing car would start to overheat. For all the international folks that think oval drivers aren't as good as road course drivers should watch some of those races. I mean it takes a hell of a lot of skill to push another car around the track at 190-200 mph while trying to pass other cars doing the same thing and then swapping who's pushing as quickly and cleanly as possible to keep from losing too much momentum.

    I’m American so I’m used to American servers but man we are the worst when it comes to Daytona or any oval races. Way too aggressive with the moves & bumping. This video is absolute madness.

    returning to this video 6 months later after hosting some nascar "sim" races in forza 7 (i say sim requiring pit stops, long races, full damage, etc. forza is far from a sim) and i can confirm that many people have had wonderful visits with mr barry r. i just wish more people played project cars og on xbox cause i like hosting big races there (i have assetto corsa but without a wheel it's hell, definitely not a controller game)

    One of the races I had in this, I don't know if it was a bug or somebody had figured out a glitch but while it pans on the cars at the beginning, somebody had already started the race & was over half a lap ahead before the countdown started

    Wow that would be amazing to be in a race like that. Running 3 abreast and nose to tail. But hey getting to meet my biggest fan barryR at over 200 mph is fun too.
    Great video SuperGT

    How it works in real life, when the car behind gets close enough to the car ahead, the venturi effect from under the car becomes incomplete in a sense. The air that is supposed to be shot out the back from underneath winds up not having a place to escape creating a pool of air under the rear bumper of the front car and under the front of the following car. Generating lift. So with an already low drag/downforce setup as Daytona should be run, the back end gets pushed up = less rear grip.

    Maybe in order to be the GOAT in every other way, Scott Speed had to surrender his ability on ovals? Or perhaps this was a show of humility; he knows he's the best, doesn't need to prove it to himself, and was letting other people have some glory. Truly a man of chivalry

    Good Racing Scott Speed. I noticed Daytona is located in 'Specified Country' according to the start screen haha. This race was fun for a little bit, I actually got a win. Even though you're DR doesn't count a win still does haha. Also one time I got bumped so hard when my car reset it made me lose a lap because I flew into the pit lane. Anyway it got boring quick. This weeks Race A is lots of crazy fun though.

    • @nebuc72

      "Specified Country" meant the cars you can use are from a set country, in this case, American only.
