I'd have flown into outer space if I'd been there. I love you.
I was there and I can tell you that I did, still not over this almost two year later…
I've just about reached lunar orbit sitting here at my desk, holy shla-MOLY what a performance
Years may pass but Thom's angelic voice will never go away.
what a great voice indeed
just saw him in nashville and he sounded so good same with jonny and tom theyre killing it all these years later. legends
death comes to all. no matter who you are
sounds better than ever here. glorious.
I was there! My body longs for that feeling everyday, what a day that was... I wish I could go back in time. Looking forward to see them again in March next year.
Same here. I was at the second show. Was so awesome walking in past all their instruments within touching distance. Wish they’d upload the full thing on UA-cam though!! Hope they do something like it again
@@DrenwickificationI was at the second show and I've got a recording of it. Let me know if you'd like it
So good it hurts
Amen
Don't bore us
Get to the chorus
And open your floodgates
Just the good bits
Without your bullshit
And no heartaches
Someone lead us
Out the darkness
Out the darkness
No pain and
No struggling
And no one gets hurt
We absolve you
We absorb you
Throw that rubbish away
Someone lead us
Out the darkness
Out the darkness
Someone lead us
Out the darkness
Out the darkness
Thank you fellow lyric Lover♡
Tears
Pop music? What happens when people stop listening to sad music.
I used to say this about Miles Davis: this is the music that God listens to. Now I can say it about The Smile.
His voice is like waiting for the sun to rise at midnight. It's with you at your worst, whispers you that the sun will rise even if you are in pitch darkness.
This is such a beautiful allegory!
My, that's spot on!!
Bravo! 👏👏👏
extremely agreeeee!🎉
Beautiful
I just got tickets to the two Brooklyn shows and it's going to be the light at the end of the tunnel for me after a very hard year. I am so grateful.
Yes!!! See you there!
Seeing them in DC :)
oh gosh enjoy!!! you're living one of my dreams
Enjoy, feel everything and cry all you want!!! 💫
There and Hammerstein 👍
How fragile and strong at the same time! It's beauty and poetry and melancholy and hope transformed into music.
This video is an example of why I just paid tons of money to see them in Nashville this year!
Love how Thom sings "someone lead us" instead of "someone lead me" in this version
yes yes yes
It took me this live performance to fully appreciate this song. I think it’s way better than the album version. The rhythm is much more audible and adds an electronic vibe that I missed on the album. Also, Jonny’s delay effect fits the song perfectly.
floating in the universe with the smile
Love this version with the fast synth staccato stabs. It contrasts nicely with the slow singing and Jonny's beautiful guitar melodies.
Amen
Those are fast?????
I paid to see this performance online and I still think about the performance. That says a lot..... PLEASE release in blu ray 4K that would be so nice......
OMG I have goosebumps. Ethereal, tender, exquisite.
This song just wraps you in warmth and lys you down to sleep with angels. Top 20 most beautiful songs ive heard in my life.
That's just great! This live version is probably even better than the studio one (which is still amazingly beautiful). After watching the show at Magazine this was the one that left the biggest impression on me. So thank you so much for sharing it!
I was thinking the exact opposite - how they couldn't quite capture what they did in the studio with this, live.
@@twochordcoolit's a different, more minimalist take which I really appreciate. The studio is more grand and spacious with the string arrangements but this live version really shows how beautiful this song still is with all that stripped back
Lucky to be alive and listening to this masterpiece.
The shows at Magazine were amazing, would love more of these videos, sound mixing on point as always :)
♥ Amazing song
Yes, please more live videos!
I wanna see the darn eyes and mouth and Joe Jackson cover again :o
I think this was from Magazine Show #2 on 30th Jan which started at 1am. It was absolutely magical to be there. This track in particular made it feel like cold and beautiful light was falling all around in the round. Afterwards, I got home at 4am, slept 5 hours, and then went back for the 11am Magazine show for more of the same. Sometimes with certain bands and artists all other considerations just go out the window.
During lockdown, I wondered whether I would ever see live music again. Post-lockdown, I wondered if i'd ever see Radiohead again. I'm still wondering that now. But even if Radiohead never play live again, we will always have these Magazine shows, and now we have ALFAA too- which is about as perfect a record as i've ever heard in my life. I genuinely believe that Radiohead will still be one of the bands that people of the future will be listening to in 300 years time.
No time spent listening to Radiohead is ever time wasted. 'How to Disappear Completely' is the greatest piece of music i've ever heard in my life. It's so good that I don't think even Radiohead will top it. If you don't believe me, watch this Canal + performance from 2001 >> ua-cam.com/video/zw1kDxjDSxk/v-deo.html /
I don't know if we'll ever get another Radiohead album, but if we don’t- I’m ok with that. We still get to play the ones they’ve left us over and over.
What a band.
this type music always welcome and needed
5022 would be three thousand years. 😃
@@jconnon you are SO right. Blame the wine. Although I think people will be listening to Radiohead In 2522 and 5022. It’s just that In 5022 they have better holograms.
Beautiful, insightful comment. Thank you for your input ♡
Can’t tell if this is satire or not, amazing copypasta if not
love how clean it sounds, vocals sounds like studio recording
My soul grows every time i hear it
I wish they’d just upload this full show! I was so awesome
My favorite song off this great album. Thom and Jonny did it again.
I just saw The Smile live in Rome and it's been a magic night.
On and on and on and on and on and on and on throughout time, through worlds, and canyons, and rivers, and dreams.
Thom will keep writing, and singing, and writing, and singing.
Forever and ever and ever
And we will Smile
Amen
God bless you
Waited over a decade for this ditty and I'm not angry one bit. What an end product.
Same here
With all the events unfolding in Europe I really didn't feel like staying alive was worth it anymore.
This song helps a lot. Thanks, Thom, I appreciate this art
this is my fav track in album.
There are many reasons behind my YT nickname, and one of it it’s Thom Yorke.
Your songs keeps healing me Thom, and for that i’m unconditionally grateful.
When I'm feeling down I only have to think that Thom York must be busy working out another masterpiece and my day imediatly gets better...🤗 fuck this music is soo good!!!
An exquisite piece of music. So much emotion contained in just a few lyrics. Right now, I play it 5or 10 times a day on repeat, just to hold on to that beautiful feeling of floating free for a bit longer.
Thom Yorke Is a musical genius without a doubt. He plays different instruments flawless and with so much passion!. With this beautiful song he moves me, relaxes me, and presenta me a different reality if this world. Music Is a very important compliment of our lives, and Thom Yorke Is a very important compliment of mine!!
This song is really beyond and above. Love it to death
Perfect as always! Johnny subtle accents just amazingly compliment Thom. Cannot wait to see them live.
It's very Street Spirit isn't it?
Blows me away with his sound & vocals every time 🙌🏻 💕🎵 Thirsty ears drink in..
Protect & Bless this beautiful Soul who is presently Thom Yorke 🙏🏻🤗
His music , new yet familiar, like coming home , heals us from life's interminable experiences before we even realise we need it.
Feeling so personally singular yet Universally synchronous! People, we are one. 😻🏴
God bless you
You too@@John.Christopher 🤗
good stuff for sure
Such a mesmerising live version! Transports you to another world. And Thom seems to be gaining the clarity and smoothness of his earlier years’ voice.
This was my first concert after 2 years of lockdowns in the UK. It was everything that I dreamed it could be and more.
my fav song
rhodes sound lulls me
Best song by far
Sweet jeezus, that was sublime! ALFAA is a masterpiece of epic proportions. I hope they release more takes from this show.
This is from show #2, the 1 am America's set...best set of the three in my opinion
This is one of my favourite songs ever ❤. I was there on the Sunday morning, it was the most ecstatic, transcendent experience I've ever had on a Sunday morning (or without drugs 😂 other than a little bit of red wine). xx
Can you please release these live Magazine shows on vinyl??
I love the live sound even more than the studio versions. Much more!
This is such a beautiful song and I'm totally obsessed with it! Such emotion.
I remember loving this concert when it came out at the start of the year. Fantastic.
These guys are geniuses. Being from the US I'm in love with British music.
Big shout out to The Smile and other alternative UK acts like
Massive Attack, Unkle, Ghostpoet,Tricky, Portishead, Idles, Bob Vylan, Allflaws
Solid mentions right there!
If you like bob vylan you should listen to slaves they are brilliant
Some of the best songwriters/ arrangers of all time. What a blessing that they have transformed such a lovely intuition into gorgeous music. 💗
Such a magical atmosphere 🎹🎸✨
Absolutely chilling and beautiful.
Difficult to express in words, what your music conveys is simply a magical feeling. What a unique talent I love you guys! So beautiful! 😍💙💫🌌
great group of folks
One of the very very few bands that can sound better live than on a studio recording !! Wow!!
Mesmerising. Such beautiful judgement...no overblown guitar or keyboard solos. Mouth open in awe of this thing of beauty. Johnny just caresses the strings.
Having the pleasure of seeing them in boston next month. I'll probably be overcome with emotion.
even the ending its on fucking perfect spot
Beautiful sound and cool vibes here! You are awesome guys!
Thom you have the voice of an Angel. I never tire of hearing you sing. Can’t wait to see you in Seattle in December!! 💜💜💜
I remember when I watched this live, pandemic was hitting hard still and I wasnt able to believe that I was getting to live something like the smile
Stunning, just stunning ❤️
Listening daily. A masterpiece. Saw them live and gutted they didn’t play this. 😢
The Roundhouse, first night was it? Same! Beautiful evening anyway... ;)
OMG! What a performance.
These guys play live much better than the studio!
I can’t wait to see this Live …. Goosebumps!!! 💗💗💗
tender, fragile, exquisite 🖤
Was at the first magazine show, blown away by this tune. Amazing stuff.
Just beautiful.
This is up there with some of Radiohead's greats. I can't wait for more releases
I downloaded this LP a few days ago and finally got around to listening to it tonight with a few good glasses of wine, and I'm blown away as I knew I would be. Hat's off to the boys once again
so beautiful
Beautiful beyond belief 😢
This really is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard live, studio mix just does not do it justice. In awe!!
Mesmerizing, crazy to think this was one of many songs Thom had been workshopping here and there for years
Fantastic ! thanks for doin Great Music Still !! After all these years , thank you ! ;) Quebec, canada .
What a treat! Better than a chocolate bar..
Brilliant as always.
Such a jewel, it bring such peace to mind.
Amazing shows. Unreal 🤘
Would love more of these from the basement style videos, brings a depth to the music like nothing I've never felt before.
I didn't get to see the show in person, but I did luckily catch one of the streams at a movie theater, which was a surprisingly great experience. I would happily purchase a Blu-ray, as well as any release on vinyl and digital. Such beautiful, beautiful versions.
Can't wait to see them in Italy ❤️
Me too!
Another gift !!!🖤
This is so freaking beautiful!

Sublime en su máxima expresión ... El sello melancólico de Thom es inevitable.
Levitante 🖤
Love it 🤍
Live album please
Love the black and white video, it matches the song so well, and really love the live performance, totally awesome.
Really hoping that they bring this tour to south America!
