Hania Rani is one of those rare artists who has seemingly mastered the technique of restraint. She's always keeping you held on by a single thread, never giving anything away too early. Not many other artists with such a beautiful voice would wait 15 minutes to start singing- and yet, by taking her time to establish the instrumental world first, she allows just enough time for us to forget about the human voice, making it even more enchanting when she finally reminds us. Good point. She does not play the piano in a traditional way in this piece. I usually think of an acoustic guitar as having the ability to be more of a percussive instrument than a piano because you can use your right hand to play rhytym and get percussive sounds.
I have been pretty down the last few years--numb and unable to cry . When listening to this for the first time the other night, I felt something very beautiful, just the absolute joy that comes from the gift of music. My heart opened a little, Thank you, Hania

This is one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. @@AndyRoidEU she is still humble she has released 3 very successful albums and been writing and performing pieces for films and theatres for years. She is famous in her own right , she’s great isn’t she :)

The beauty of this comes from the fact that if this was never recorded and it was just her performing in this empty room....she would be just as proud of what art she just created
My sentiments exactly. Listening to this reminded me of the movie "Koyaanisqatsi" made in 1982. That movie made me think no other movie can live up to it. It is not even using the medium in the same way, somehow. It just IS.
So glad that there are true musicians like you. Playing with skills with an angelic voice and connecting to a deeper spiritual level. Stay as you are. You don't make music. You are music.
WOW! Just absolutely incredible! If you want to get a glimpse of what heaven may sound like while still on earth, then this is A MUST LISTEN TO. This female pianist may have been born in Poland but I swear she's from a different universe. Just mind blowing...
I just want to hear her play ad infinitum. You know when you finish a book and you have that wave of sadness that it's over and you just want to have more of it... that's how I feel after this session ends.. I've been listening to her music constantly while absorbing myself in art projects and I'm so glad I found this music...
It's wonderful to see a formally schooled, accomplished, musician fusing modern technology with traditional instruments and performance sensibilities. This is breathtaking, achingly beautiful, music. 20:28 It feels like I'm witnessing that moment when an artist is overcome by, and completely gives themselves over to, whatever spirit moves through them.
Absolutnie niezwykłe i poruszające. Przesiąknięte szczerością i emocjonalnością dźwięki przynoszą ulgę. Niekiedy popłynie łza, ale to tylko potwierdza powyższe. Dziękuję za to.
As a longtime fan of Philip Glass, this sounds absolutey brilliant, and takes me back to the 80s, when i would listen to Glassworks over and over and over. And, what a recording space!
Oh God! Modern Day Studio Technology is just unbelievable! The Sound is so fuckin wide, deep and huge, i was completely paralysed throughout the whole video. That was just sooo good!!!
To think we watched her create all these sounds. All this from one person. One sitting. Wow… absolutely mesmerizing. She is part of the renaissance of new music that will get us through these upside down times. Thank you Haina…for all of us, please never stop!
Her mastery of the keys is amazing , her control of dynamic range is sensitive and impeccable , and first time I've seen a pianist mute the strings for effect . . wOw
7:16 There is some magic going on here. The stone teletransports itself from the key to the top of the synth, and the cables on the top right move about a little
I don’t know what just happened…. I heard a note played repeatedly with an unorthodox muting technique I’ve never seen. A voice spoke and I was taken back by how gentle she sounded compared to the pure emotional storm from her music. A few notes on an analog synth were played and a stone was placed to sustain a rhythmic note and an arpeggio played.. She sang as well. Today is a good day.
There are no words…….I’ve searched everywhere within myself……you are a cosmic gift….you must’ve been born within the stars and now bless us with your Being. 🙏❤️
Agree with the comment below. I’m 77 and found this by chance. Simply lovely .. intrigued by the use of acoustic and digital sequencing .. charmed by the mellifluous repetition and variations. Exquisite.. thank you Hania Rani.
I saw her perform last night at Somerset House in central London, and it was absolutely sublime. I first came across her music by accident, online, during the Covid pandemic lockdown. An absolutely astonishing talent, we should cherish creative musicians of this calibre, they are rare and wonderful.
You know that feeling when you are fully engulfed in a book or film and it feels as if you lived through the story yourself. When you finish the story you wonder, well if that wasn’t real life then and I even living right now? That’s what connecting to this music feels like to me. Vulnerable, raw, and ethereal
My dear, you have something like no one else, never stop! And your voice oh my! When you started singing I was so alarmed ! I was jammin guitar to your music and then all of a sudden stopped struck by your tone! My heart exploded. Im in love ☀️ 🐝 🌹 I keep watching listening over and over
This makes me want to “do my own thing” more than ever, not caring what people think, like she’s giving me permission to just play the real music in my heart, even though it might be different than what people want and expect from me. Total aside: I hope “my own thing” sounds a little bit like Hania!
That last track 'Buka' is sublime! This music takes you 'home' in your heart and your head. It has perfect resonance and is complete. And it often makes me cry, too, when I think about how 'right' it sounds.
it's not just that is it. there's electronics involved here. repeating, looping.. etc. it's stil brilliant, but technologically there's more going on here..
You are alone in the studio and very dignified. You are playing from the studio and you can't see us. But you seem to look deep into the hearts of us who see and listen to your performance. There is no doubt that the sounds you play echo to the bottom of our hearts. Thanks💓

All co-existing and complimenting each other - this is the human condition expressed in music.

This lady got talent. Honestly I thought, classic music was boring and obsolete. This proves me wrong.
This is contemporary..not classical
@@olsim1730All the classical composers were contemporary in their day! Hania may be considered classical in the future, long after we have sailed!

This is way beyond classical. . .
Speechless. This beautiful woman is a testament as to how we need to allow our children to discover their creative selves wholeheartedly....by breaking the rules and experimenting. This child is a true angel and as Mako says "was kissed by the music of god". I am also hooked. This kind of creativity, if multiplied, and expanded, holds the secret to a new and better world.
Yes, and I feel that this world IS coming. The degrading industrial muzak is dying. This kind of freedom and spontaneity of expression is the healing and inspiring music of the next Age.
How beautifully said ❤
Ninakazo, your words are carrying by the vibration of her performance. You expressed very well all sentiments behind it.

Sounds like water... A river flowing... Inexplicably beautiful.
This is usually called .. minimalism.
@@AndyRoidEU though I get what you're saying, there's nothing minimal about this.
@@AndyRoidEU Doesn't help to put labels on it. I find her quite original and individual in her style.
I love how she plays the piano as a percussive and melodic instrument simultaneously.
That is pretty much the definition of piano.
Every instrument is a percussion instrument☺️
@@mikeyodonell7036 If I was twelve or Garth, I'd say, "you're a percussion instrument"
@@mikeyodonell7036
Yeah, especially the flute and trumpet...
I hope you're doing much better, Tori. Take care of yourself

Had a quite similar experience just now. Thank you so much!
That ripple of joy is the universal source [God]. He/She comes to us in many forms. Please let us all open our hearts and surrender, when you resist less, it becomes a release and natural joy will come into your life. Release your cares and burdens because they are temporary distractions.

This is one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. As a professional musician myself it's hard not to appreciate every little detail here and every note in this performance is there for a reason. She really puts her heart into it, beyond magical... still she seem so humble afterwards. Man, I am glad I stumbled upon this today, today is a great day. Peace
Let's hope the artists stay themselves and humble also after they're famous.

The beauty of this comes from the fact that if this was never recorded and it was just her performing in this empty room....she would be just as proud of what art she just created
I don't know what else to listen to anymore...

Absolutnie niezwykłe i poruszające. Przesiąknięte szczerością i emocjonalnością dźwięki przynoszą ulgę. I don’t know what just happened…. I heard a note played repeatedly with an unorthodox muting technique I’ve never seen.
