I'm surprised you motorized bicycle dudes are not using ruff-cycles frames with their custom metal tanks. Strongest and best looking frames and tanks out there and the price is great. Made in Germany and they ship within a week. I use them for electric builds. You should check them out. Nice Build👌
@@PhysiqueGeek Just go on their website and they have the gas tanks premade they're just steel sealed welded tanks you're going to have to add a peacock and a fill cap. It's easy to do You can use a bolt on filler cap.

@@FarmerFpv oh hell yeah, I had a pretty built up 212 bike myself and that thing was a blast to bomb around town on. In one of those frames that would be a sweet machine. Everything I've ever used from Ruff has been absolutely top shelf quality. It's almost hard to imagine how they sell it all at such good prices.

@@PhysiqueGeek Oh heck yeah, you should build the ruff cycles Dean XL frame with dual motors, that frame is huge, can probably fit 3 motors, lol
John, by your standards, I’m a newbie to motorized biking. But to mine, I’m an experienced builder. Let me explain. Way back in the mid-50s, I had this genius idea to convert my Schwinn springer bike to a motorized speedster. I welded a steel plate in the bottom of the frame “V” and mounted a B&S 4-stroke 2 1/2 hp pull-start engine in it. A cross shaft transmitted the power from a centrifugal clutch on the left to the rear sprocket on the right. I removed the pedals and welded a steel tube through the trunnion for foot pegs. The coaster brake was operated with a pedal I fabricated and
mounted on the right hand footpeg.
The bike was pretty lop-sided but rideable. Total cost to convert: about $15! I already had the engine off a go kart I had built earlier.

No worries buddy, I'm just happy people are enjoying them. I got all the raw materials I need, I just need the seat itself to get here so I can sort out what length shock I can use there and then it's smooth sailing.
I'm really hoping that between the offset mounts and the RDM extended clutch shaft that I can still get them to line up without issue. Soon as I have a day where I'm not wiped after work I'll get out there and do some more on it

Hell ya, my man!! Hopefully the extended clutch shaft lets u clear the chain the whole way up thru. Are u gonna run pw80 ignition or supercharged? If supercharged I’ve got a brand new extra.
Builds looking great I hate to even think your going to have to run your clutch on the right hand side that's going to be awquird you could go go all out English and put a left hand thumb throttle that wouldn't be to bad getting used to. The mounts won't hang you up none at all your a problem solver so I know that's going to be a cake walk for you. Keep us all posted I love the videos knowing full well you work hard at them thks dude keep it twisted
Appreciate that brother! It's definitely going to be weird getting used to the clutch and throttle being on the same side lol, not super happy about that but oh well. Maybe if I get in touch with Vector, or Tektro they could sell me a right hand lever. Ik they make them, I saw one in their promo display. Just a matter of finding it now lol. Keep it twisted man!

Oh yeah it’s probably going to be real close if he does manage to get them ready by the end of the month. Ik the both of them are completely swamped with orders, not to mention the still rising material costs. I want to pedal as little as possible with this one so it should be topping out around 60-65 on 11/40 gearing. Depending on where it actually revs to of course. There’s plenty of room to increase exhaust port duration to get those revs up a little higher

It's been 8days so far set I actually started my build I started on jul31 the last day to enter the Build-Off there was a felt faker frame so I decide to pick it up little update I won't have my CNC smolik performance Engine case until a few months so I'm going to go with a china doll engine with a smaller performance spacer hybrid so yeah my rims are supposed to come by the end of the day and other parts in a week , my build is coming along nicely check it out lol

@@mozezcen-valley7555 my bad, I thought I ordered an 11t but I actually got the 9T. That throws what I thought my gearing and top speed would be completely off. Now instead of 60+ it'll probably top out around 52-55mph with the 9t. 57-60mph with the 10t.

I love your channel John I like the attention to details she's beautiful cant wait for them high rpm pulls what crankset are you running I'm looking into a 3 piece conversion for my zeda screaming demon its awesome to see some guys go all out on looks shes definitely going to look good me personally looks come second on my bikes because for me its all about the pull and stability at speed its mind blowing how good they look when built right I've got 1800 between engine ms460 54mm frame wheels pipe and lights and I'm looking at probably another 2500 for powder coating crank conversion forks and brakes luckily I'm doing all the labor myself except powder coating I work in a welding shop and it helps but yeah overall I got alot of respect for that bike already looks damn good

The most straightforward way to switch to a 3pc on those frames is to get these American to Euro style BB adapters and a euro square taper BB cartridge. Then you can run any square taper cranks you want. I really like the Action cranks, they look sharp, and they're pretty cheap compared to a lot of what's out there.

Oh believe me I'm not neglecting to make sure everything is solid. I know the components here are all well made so I'm mainly on aesthetics at this point of it. I want to get this frame color matched and powder coated at some point too so I don't have to be so ginger about not hitting it with things lol. If I knew how to weld, and had a garage with sufficient electrical to weld, I'd be building some crazy stuff haha, one of these days maybe.
@@PhysiqueGeek I love the 460 she pulls hard I've had a 28t on her and still ripped up steep hills the speeeed was to much though I dropped her back to a 36t and thats how I ride her now insane amount of torque and the rpms just seem to go to the moon all you really wanna do is sit on the pipe at 6000rpm and ride wheelies id love to make videos again ive had problems with storage space on my phone a good camera and the computer I have doesnt have a SD card reader so ive been trying to figure out how to edit and upload videos for awhile now I'm on a low budget at this time but I'll be making videos in the future just trying to find the best way to do it to bad they dont make a youtube starter kit 😆

About the crank, I had a similar issues with being too close to the motor. I went to my local bike shop and he told me that there are different width bottom brackets that will fit the felt faker and I just went with one that's wider than a standard bike, but not the biggest one. I don't know if you already have a wider bottom bracket installed, but if your wanted matching crank arms that would be the way to go.
Oh yeah they make some extremely wide bottom brackets in the euro style that the faker uses. The one on my predator 212 was something like 12" wide lol, but that setup was far, far wide than any 2 stroke build of course

These things used to be super common and relatively cheap to get, in comparison to the big name DH triple tree forks, but now they're pretty hard to find and the price just keeps climbing. This model here, designed with heavy ebike's in mind, came from luna cycle but they've been out of stock there for a while now. If you want to hunt around though, google DNM Volcano or DNM USD-8 forks. Happy building!

I mean it probably wouldn't hurt them but it would look real janky and make the parking brake a big hassle to use.
