Those 50's Cadillacs were always my favorites. It has very distinctive lines, way better than todays Cadillacs and more reliable as they were a lot simpler.
The cool thing about this year of Cadillac, the gas filler is hidden under the left rear tail light, you push the button and the light swivels up and there's the gas cap.
@RamblinAround - No gas access doors to mar the lines, that was artful engineering for sure. Glad there are still examples around. My cousin had a 55' four door, she called it the grey tank.
What a stunning beauty colour gourgeus motor powerfull and big Bruce Wayne could use this as the batmobile thanks jeff and Jordan for this video i love these caddys
@offxbyxone I'd have to agree. There was a lot to be proud of in post-war America. The 50's were definitely a cool time...cars were a bit excessive and had tons of chrome, jobs were plentiful, drive-ins, Route 66, etc...
@monarch1957 I agree completely, I think they lost a little something in the 60's and 70's. They're all nice, but the 50's were the peak in my opinion.
@mrcaymanislands1 Cadillacs were definitely a huge status symbol at the time. Most of the celebrities of the time drove them. They really were making some fine cars at that time.
Very Neat Car Jeff/ Would like the Original Wheel covers or a nice set of Wire Wheels. Just can't beat a clean Black car. Unless it's Red LOL Thanks for Sharing Jeff!
The bullet cone shape is called “bumper guards “ in the Cadillac manual, or what most guys refers to it in the 50’s as “Dagmar”, After one of the pin-up movie star who has big, pointy breast.
Hi there, how do u do? I'm from Cape Town South Africa n very interested in cadillac esp models from 1954 - 1957, however I don't have much knowledge about them, so 1st of all, what's the difference between the Eldorado Seville and the Deville n according to your expertise, which model for you is the Puck of the bunch? Thanks
When I sold the car it had around 120,000 Miles it & still ran perfect. I'm sorry that I sold it. Oh yes there was no rust at all on it. Seats where like new.
@GeneralGHustler its for those annoying people who always pull out in front of you then go really slow. Then take your foot and lay into the turbo charged v8 Cadillac motor with all 3 tons of weight of the car and move them outta the way. The bullets stick in the back of the A holes car destroying their rear bumper and trunk. Now you have taught them a lesson not to pull out in front of your Caddy no more.
$4,305, which in today's money would be about $37K, about what some Cadillacs cost. If you wanted an air-conditioner installed at the factory, you'd have to add another $750, almost 20% of the price! That would amount to $6,000 today, but AC is standard equipment.
Packard was the first to offer AC in 1940, but Cadillac installed a few units in '41 and Chrysler in '42--all made by the same company Bishop and Babcock. AC was once again available in Olds/Buick/Cadillac in '53, mounted in the trunks, Chevy and Pontiac in '55, both dash-mounted.
It could cost as much as 20% of the cost of the car itself--early units were in the trunk, but didn't take up that much space. By late 50's, they were all in the dash as they are today. You can see the AC system in my '53 Cad on my other channel NDrLoR--1953 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Part 3.
Take this car out on the town AND I'LL BET ANYBODY TOP DOLLARS the person driving this car will get just as much or maybe even more beautiful women then someone driving a CTS coupe.
My cousin had a 1955 Sedan de Ville, grey, I used to call those front bumpers, tittie bumpers, because she had sort of big boobs, and I was still sort of young...LOL...all I know is I loved that car, but she totally trashed it. She went to college and let everyone drive it, including some Frat boys, it was a shame, but back then they were a common car...nice memories though. (smile)!
AHH, YA Sorry pal! The 1955 Cadillac was the first year of the 365 C D I Engine, unless this coupe was one of the first 50 off the line in 54? In witch case the $30,000 price tag is a steel! Retired Engineer: Cadillac moter car division.
mine was red with a black top 390cid... had it for 41 years!

Looks great!
One hot Caddy for sure and a great price too. Very cheap for one in that good of shape.
So apparently the 331 V8 speedometer topped out at 110 while the bigger engine cars speedometer went to 120. Love the luxury of them.
@pulse0000 Thanks for watching!
I love the front grille on those Cadillacs!!! That is an Elvis car!! The exhaust out the bumper a la the Corvette, of about the same era!!
@offxbyxone I'd have to agree. There was a lot to be proud of in post-war America. The 50's were definitely a cool time...cars were a bit excessive and had tons of chrome, jobs were plentiful, drive-ins, Route 66, etc...

Just was in one today
@GeneralGHustler Intimidation...lol
@talfacprez That might be why I had the urge to run my hand across them...LOL
Wire Hub Caps didn't come on that car!!!
I think you could special order the Kelsey Hayes wire spokes on a Coupe de Ville? Werent those style rims introduced on the 53 Eldo?
I had a 4 door that my dad gave me. It was in a one shape & black. He want an got a 4 door 1959 flat top Cad.
When I sold the car it had around 120,000 Miles it & still ran perfect. I'm sorry that I sold it. Oh yes there was no rust at all on it. Seats where like new.

VictrolaJazz they had ac in those days?

must have been bulky and super expensive,in those days ..
