Moved FROM Wyoming area 14 years ago. Took my family an hour north to get out of the craziness and send my kids to better schools (without metal detectors). Yes, there are things I miss (the good food) but you couldn't pay me a million dollars to move back!
Thanks for the comment Mindy...Wyoming has gotten better but I totally understand where your coming from! What school are you in now and what do you enjoy about it?
Growing up in Wyoming in the 70's, I got the best of what that area had to offer. During summers, every Tuesday night at the 'Beltline Drive-In Theater' was Eberhard's night. $0.50 for as many people as you could jam into a car. I'll bet I didn't miss more than a handful my whole life, and I don't think I ever watched a single movie. It was all a big party. Walking around from car to car, visiting, drinking, smoking joints. Every summer WLAV (radio) would sponsor the raft race. Another huge party with live music. I moved to Oregon in 1987, but I'll never forget the great times I had growing up in Wyoming Michigan.
Hey Russ, Sorry for the late response..I was sick for awhile and walked away from UA-cam...Thanks for sharing and that sounds like a great time! I was born in 74 so a little before my time but it sounds a like a great place to grow up!
I just moved back to wyoming after being away for 13 years and I tell ya I lived in rural area up north for 11 years and I missed the grand rapids area so much..people in smaller communities are very clicky and not cultured at all. I also missed having the arena, museum and restaurants at my fingertips ..I even lived in florida for almost 2 years and nothing compares to Grand Rapids and Wyoming..Im sorry but I love that Im back in wyoming :)
@@strengthlove3182 Great...if you ever decide to buy let me know and I can walk you through the steps and help in any way I can. You said you missed the restaurants in GR, which is your favorite?

I try to be as fair as possible...its a nice area and I have sold many homes to people with kids but there are a lot of rentals in there area and the schools are good not great!
@@livingingrandrapidsmichiga9118 I graduated in 2000. But I don't know now but kelloggsville has to be the last place I would go. In school I messed with and the teacher looked the other way. I rarely fought back but when I did I got into trouble for it. I tried to just keep to my self but that did work. My brother in middle school had a teacher that pick on him all the time yelled at him my mother sat in the class to find out what was going on and my brother was in his set and quite and before the teacher came in the door of the class room she yelled at my brother to sit down and be quite when he wasn't loud or doing anything at all. The other students were loud and out of there set. They show perefence in students and treat other like shit. I had this all throughout my school years. It wasn't just me but other as well.
Where I live it is getting worse were I lived 44th nd division. I seen things like people pull guns on one each other I see more homeless begging for money everywhere you go. I grow up here all my life never seen anything like it before. I live one mile from 44th and division in Kentwood it's the samething
wow...Leon that is too bad and I hope things get better where you are living....getting as far away from Division as possible is always a plus. Good luck man!
Wyoming is a working class starting home community. I lived there’s for years and live close by now. Make no mistake ghetto growth spread from downtown via Division south. Just a fact. The Burton heights Godwin heights area kind of go street weather it’s a good hood or not. A lot of positive’s you correctly point out, bad thing. The Wyoming City Counsel is why I won’t live in Wyoming. If the counsel wants something that requires voter approval they will put it on the ballet year after year for years until they find a to hide the funds they in something else they can get passed.
Matt, sorry for the late response...been sick! It's a very fair point! I have a rental in that area so I know what you're saying! Ha! Ha! The good thing is that the price of homes has appreciated so much that it's too expensive to buy for rentals so that should help! Do you own a house in Wyoming?
@@mattf3761 Very cool! It's nice that we can enjoy the city again now without too many covid restrictions! I also agree and wouldn’t live anywhere else!

Yeah the weather is fantastic as well. Division street still thriving ?
Division is getting better and better every year but there are still parts that are a little "rough"! Do you live in Wyoming?
Good picture of Wyoming, though it's not exactly an endorsement! Might be good for adults w/o kids who need a reasonably priced home.

Born and raised North Wyoming. 25 years. We need more families and less single renters 😁
