I agree that there are few deaths but there are a ton of accidents from hitting a deer. A moose or elk are like hitting another car! they are huge and it would be very scary to hit one...I know in Alaska it's a real concern. Thanks for your comment!

Yes they still have a great program and I totally agree that they will be a Division one for all sports soon! They are blowing up with new students and growing campus. Do you enjoy Portland?

Isaac, thanks for your comment! Grand Rapids Christian is a great school but I still think East is the best. My kids have had a great experiences with the school and the awesome athletic program. But I know it can be a little intense to say the least....any kid going to either of those schools is going to have a great education and start to their life! Are you in east town now? Jim

Grand Valley is a great school! It was pretty small back when I was in college and it has BLOWN up since then...they are growing fast and have their athletic programs are very good! Are you thinking about going to GVSU?

Cliff, LOL! you are right and I'm sorry...I will say the same thing to you that I did Nancy....This is the only video where I hired a fact finder to do some research...clearly a mistake on my part....I have been to New Union Brewery and they only had popcorn....anyway sorry for the mistake and I know Lowell well and even tried to develop some land there years back and I have lived in Grand Rapids area for over 20 years! Yes there are a lot of very wealthy people in East but I would say the majority is 2 hard working parents that have good jobs. EX. Wife is a teacher and Husband an attorney or vice versa. Ex. Wife is a realtor and husband is a Electrician

A liberal stronghold? That's absolutely not the Grand Rapids (and surrounding communities) that existed when I moved out of Michigan in 1995 (followed a job opportunity). SW Michigan had always been conservative/religious/red territory. I still have family there. They tell me it hasn't changed much. Was born in GR in 1964 at St. Marys hospital. It was far too conservative for me when I was there.

Maybe the high school start time, I’d rather have it start at 8:00 instead of 7:55, because that extra 5 minutes is nice.

@@Williverfit I lived in KW for 35 YR it was great when i was a kid with my dirt bike but now to many houses blocking, and moved to lowell with Rivers, Hiking Trails, and a 1/2 HR away.a much nicer area.

Hey Roger! How long have you lived on the Westside and what do you like about it?

​@@livingingrandrapidsmichiga9118 Many years. The parks and stores, plus all the Bars on the W. Side. Putt-Putts and Joey's are Landmarks neighborhood Bars on Fulton St. with great food ! The Westside now runs all the way out to about Remembrance Rd. and the houses are all nice in that area too. And yup, we have plenty of churches too if you are so inclined. Plenty of real nice Condos can be found about Richmond Ave. and Oakleigh Road. What best describes the W. Side though is that for the most part the people here own their own houses and they maintain them too. Less crime on the W. Side but things are getting a bit dicey about Leonard St and Alpine Ave. lately.

Its still a nice area and that house now depending on the finish level would be worth $215,000-$235,000. Where do you live now?

I try to be as fair as possible...its a nice area and I have sold many homes to people with kids but there are a lot of rentals in there area and the schools are good not great!

@@livingingrandrapidsmichiga9118 I graduated in 2000. But I don't know now but kelloggsville has to be the last place I would go. I didn't get the proper help in the school that I need got pushed through school graduated we e's and d's still full don't know how to read very well. In school I messed with and the teacher looked the other way. I rarely fought back but when I did I got into trouble for it. I tried to just keep to my self but that did work. My brother in middle school had a teacher that pick on him all the time yelled at him my mother sat in the class to find out what was going on and my brother was in his set and quite and before the teacher came in the door of the class room she yelled at my brother to sit down and be quite when he wasn't loud or doing anything at all. The other students were loud and out of there set. They show perefence in students and treat other like shit. I had this all throughout my school years. It wasn't just me but other as well.
