This once £75,000 SUPERCHARGED Range Rover cost £2,000. Here’s why (It Broke). (L322)

- For my third video, and to test my new microphone setup out, I thought I’d review my friends 2006 Range Rover Supercharged (L322). Unfortunately, it had some issues before I could take it for a proper drive. It’s timing was very convenient, and I suspect an act of revenge against my jokes against it.
Anyway, this will be part 1. As soon as a new tyre is on and the battery issue is solved, I’ll be able to take it for a proper drive and enjoy the Supercharged V8 music, whilst wafting through the countryside.
If you'd like to follow my Instagram: ...
Bought a p38 some years ago , after fighting it for a few years I swore , never again with the range rover thing ,,,, I'm on my fourth
If anybody is here from High Peak Auto’s. First of all, hello. Second of all, obviously my friend has sold this and therefore I can’t do the part 2 that I promised.
However, I’m a man of my word and I will deliver a driving review of a supercharged L322. Hopefully one that works...
Excellent start to your channel - the detail you bring coupled with your presentation skills and humour are your selling points, for me anyway. If you can do more fun stuff with that Range Rover, you will probably find quite a few new subscribers joining your ranks as these cars seam to be attracting quite a bit of interest these days on UA-cam - based on other channels i'm also following.
Thank you very much ! Really appreciated. I’m awful with technology so putting these together is certainly a learning curve. Part two will be soon !
Well if you insist on taking the piss out of a LR or RR they will bite back.
Talk and treat them right and they'll be fine with you.
I keep looking at L322s, but my "weird 90s" 1999 4.6 P38 just keeps on working... I'll stick with a working one :)
P38’s are my favourite generation ! Unloved, but a crucial stepping stone in the lineage.
Range rover's do have somthin cad ish about them, cool cars 😏👍
Be like owning a petrol rover from the 90s....every time you drive it, your paranoid it`s going to go wrong.
Have to say, I still own my first Range Rover 20 years on. I have just added to the collection. I really have not had any major issues with any of them. Not saying those claiming unreliability are wrong, it is just not my experience over the last 20 years.
The problem with some RR owners is they can afford a second-hand RR but they cannot afford to properly maintain them so you end up with an embarrassing RR like this one and a load on the market that have been poorly looked after thus making their reliability reputation tank.
"I sold it bc it had problems" *buys another* is why idc what people say about luxury vehicles especially when they can't work on them
Range Rover tool kit 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅Nearly pulled the trigger on one of these. An absolute savage one in a deep blue Colour with white leather. Would’ve cost me a fortune to own and run. Bought an E46 M3 instead. I saw the car a few years later and it looked in very good condition still. I still want one but I doubt I’ll pull the trigger these days
You made the right decision my friend !
Really enjoyed the vid and look forward to the driving review of it. 👍👍
Lol to the illegal spaced plate 😅
That’s a good buy, and sounds stunning 🤩. Keep up the great content full of information. Are you a car trader?
Thanks dude, I’m not, no 👍🏻
Anyone here because of High Peak Autos?😅
You’re wrong about the exhaust’s , they look awesome as f*ck .
The owner agrees ;)
Never mind the range rover let's look at the sd1
I’ll get a video done on it !
@@carsandcustard awesome 👌
Can you please reply over the sd1
Replied below 👍🏻
Clarksons blew up recently Turbos blew. He said he was sad as he took his kids to school in it. But not repairing or rebuilding it. 🤷♂️
A shame ! But uneconomical to repair I suppose
Common problem in the 3.6 V8 diesel L322 the turbos.
I’ve got a 4.4 V8 petrol and absolutely love it but have spent about £7k in the last year 😂
Love a Range Rover. I have a P38 that I've rebuilt the engine in but am fighting electrical issues so it hasn't been on the road in a year, still love it though 😂 Also, love the SD1 in the background ❤️
Love hate comes to mind haha. Stay tuned for an SD1 video !
"these are supercharged lights - the lights themselves aren't supercharged, but they are exclusive to the supercharged versions" - 😆my kinda guy
Is that a targa red vitesse at the side
It is yes
The Rangey....an automotive itch we all have to scratch during our motoring lives...deeply flawed but a true icon.... unashamedly British ! Audio was excellent....keep up the good work carsandcustard 👍
That’s an itch I’m happy driving and never owning. My mate works in a Land Rover dealer. “The best car you could own, once you’ve got a warranty”. His words.
Everyone who complains about LR reliability has a ‘mate’ who owned one or worked on one, but they’ve never owned one. The L322’s are great cars if you actually spend the cash maintaining them, the problem is they are complicated and most people buy them and then try to run them on a shoe string.

Yep.. went from a 98.. key fob problems.. sold it.. got a 2006 now
After owning a P38 and then a new 2004 L322....I now only drive lexus. Says it all really.
Great show, you remind me of a young James May (Top Gear) as in your presenting style. Keep up the good work
They are beautiful cars but it's skin deep and jlr should hang their heads in shame 😔 with the woeful reliability of their modern and this is the woeful part products.
I have 3.6 v8 twin turbo over a year the turbos were replaced first week and not a problem with at all
Shame that computer said no ! That said, you’ve got me wanting part 2 now. Can’t wait. Audio is so much better now too. Keep it up 👍🏻
P38 love them ,got rid need another one ,funny video
One word..."Gangsta"
Ennit. 🙄
There old knackers now love my l405
You're very funny! 😅
How about reviewing a car that the "average Joe" could afford.
I once owned a Hyundai i10. Felt like driving a go cart but handled surprising well in all weather's.
I hope your channel takes off 🤞
Thank you Adam, I really appreciate it ! Certainly some normal stuff coming, stay posted :)
Was part 2 made before it was sold?
It wasn’t, but I promised a part 2... stay tuned 👀
Would love some sd1 content ,my dad had many of them when I was a kid. Absolutely love them
I’ll get a video done !
Bloody clickbait 😤
We need an update to this video. Also include how much it is to fill up and how long it realistically lasts. Would be very interesting to watch. Thanks.
The car was sold by my friend before I could do an update! There’s a video of this very car on High Peak Auto’s channel.
@@carsandcustard hi, thanks for the reply. I’ll head over to his channel and ask him if he can include it in his next video. Great content btw ! Keep up the great work. Cheers
Just purchased 2004 4.4 petrol. Pickup is next month due to working away. My last car was porsche cayenne 3.2 2005 with no issues over 13months. Not expected same with RR lol
Best of luck ! The Range Rover is a lovely thing but there’s no doubting that the cayenne is the better engineering exercise 😅
@@carsandcustard 73000 fsh on RR plus its never failed a mot so hopefully its a one of no issues motor .All fingers crossed 🤞 🙏
That interior was lit🔥
Awesome video 😁
That’s not 2007. The interior is 2002-2005.
I said 2006 in the video. Car was registered on 31st May 2006. 4.2 Supercharged Variants were made from 2006-2009. Thanks for watching.
@@carsandcustard my apologies. My brain invented it 🤦🏼♂️🙈
@@MePeterNicholls all good dude 👌🏻
Couldn't bring myself to buy a Rangey as the dependable wagon, as much as I admire them, so went down the Land Cruiser route. Nice vid. And the mic was a worthwhile investment!
I couldn’t bring myself to buy a Land Cruiser, tacky interiors and even the newer ones drive like an old tractor. The LC is basically a big Kia Sorento IMO.
