But also because his lyrics reflect our collective desire for peace worldwide. Because within this song, we’re transported to a space, where love and togetherness become our reality, if but for a moment in time…
The song reflects the light at the end of the tunnel, that we are all hoping for...
As a result of the ongoing murderous violence, millions of innocent families, have been forced to leave the comfort of their homes, to seek asylum elsewhere.
I’m calling on world leaders and everyone who believes in the sentiment of IMAGINE, to stand up for refugees everywhere! Please advocate and donate from the heart. #StandUpForUkraine”

Julian, I’ve always respected your decision in regards to your fathers library and legacy. It’s not an easy thing to grow up with. This is a perfect way to honor the Ukrainian people to provide strength, peace, and courage. Most importantly, you made it your own. Many are saying how proud your dad is but also I hope that you’re feeling the same for yourself. Thank you for continuing his gift in your own way to us all.

I've been a huge Beatles fan all my life and a Julian fan since the 80's but even I couldn't expect how moved I became by this performance. So many layers of meaning and history there. I bet that it means a lot to Paul to see that, 'Jude' really did grow up to be happy and talented and amazing.

Fantastic rendition. You can hear a little of John coming thru. I miss him still after all these years. Growing up during the Beatles rein was the best. Carry on Julian.
There isn’t a word invented that can sufficiently praise this recording. From a musical perspective, the acoustic rendition and (oh wow) harmony!! is fantastic. On another level, the fact that Julian has transcended his experience of John’s egocentrism is all kudos to Cynthia, her strength and heart in single-handedly raising Julian without a grain of antagonism, and Julian’s growth in his awareness that he’s so much stronger than his imperfect father. Total inspiration. This will be the only Imagine that I ever listen to again.

I am 67 years old. I have loved this song from the day John Lennon released it. As someone notices it below, it is meditation. Peace. I sing it often to myself when I need comfort. Thank you Julian and Nuno for this. If there is one thing that we need in this world, it is peace. Especially for the beleaguered people of the Ukraine.
Julian is 19 years older than his dad ever got to be, yet his voice is still youthful. Despite the obvious similarity of their voices, Julian deliberately avoids imitation. Guitar instead of piano, harmony near the end (nice touch!), and a softening of the distinctive sharpness of John's voice. It's eerie to hear the ghost of John Lennon being channeled through his son, and it's a bit sad to realize Julian probably had good reason to avoid singing his father's music for 40 years.
Seems like he just got left behind and forgotten by John. So hard for a young person.

Just watched Julian’s recent Channel 4 interview which was fascinating, he’s a very interesting guy in his own right and when he mentioned Imagine I had to search on UA-cam. I know he avoided singing this for decades but this was the moment to do it for Ukraine what a goosebumps moment he does sound so much like his Dad who would be so proud and today is the anniversary of John’s death as I write this ❤

This was beyond beautiful and gave me chills. “Imagine” is, in my opinion, the world’s most “needed” song in existence. No other song can do what “Imagine” does for those who listen during times of great tragedy. I know people often wish John was here to inspire hope during such times. Well, this performance did exactly that. The world needs “Imagine” now more than ever, and this was the ONLY way it could have been done justice. I particularly loved the touch with the piano, which doesn’t actually get played during the performance but instead is covered in candles, the most important of which being the ones on the keys, representing John’s presence as a third performer of his iconic song. Thank you Julian for giving the world exactly what it needed.

How undefinable, bizarre & frustrating it might be to always have you're dad's name and mention attached to everything you do - but you've always done it with class, man!
