It's crazy that a few years ago I was playing wipeout on my vita and now I can pretty much be in the game. They did such a great job making this game VR
I listened to you Bryan when you said go buy it, and don't wait for the review. I watched you play it for the first time in VR and I could hear the excitement in your voice. Thank you,it's a fantastic game in VR.
This was mana from heaven. It reminded us that there's no excuse, existing games can be ported to VR no problem and be amazing. Fingers crossed other studios see the popularity of this and hop on the VR gravy train!
Grabbed this for 15 McChickens at Best Buy. Turned all the VR safeties off, and played on the fastest modes and almost barfed. It was amazing. 9 out of 10, would almost-barf again.
William Brinkley It would be unfair to say those other games aren’t great in their own ways. But honestly this game is impossibly good. In terms of polishing VR, I think this goes the furthest. Beautiful graphics, super intense and addictive gameplay, and really it feels like it was always meant for VR. I can’t imagine going back to the flat version after this.
+Ryan Sanders R7 is so good that I will never go into a debate with anyone saying that it's the best. I have my opinion but especially in RE7's case, I respect yours.
This is easily my favorite VR game. It took a while took me but once I did I enjoyed it way more than Skyrim or any of the other big releases so far. It helps that it's a well designed traditional game to begin with, and the VR making it even better.
absolutely awesome video, and this, for me, is THE showoff game for anyone looking at buying VR. the very feeling of sitting in the huge cockpit while the techno tracks are bouncing in surround sound and watching ships explode around you as though they are 20 feet high is just outstanding. not to mention the value for money, you get so much game for your green! awesome thrillseeking gameplay, beautiful polished visuals, pumping soundtrack and multiplayer!!! WOW!! awesome video BP!
Just be careful that the person who you showoff wipeout won't puke on your carpet :D. I bought psvr few days ago, spent like 3-4 hours in different games and demos and then jumped into wipeout. In a first race I finally understood what motion sickness is, after comfort settings it is better but still tough.
Yeah I definitely think it's a game for people used to VR already. I've put a lot of hours into various VR titles, still can't do lock to pilot, not a chance. Locking to cockpit is still awesome though. I turn off all the other stuff. Although, my first VR experience was the X-Wing mission, and I was fine after that. I did feel some bits of dizziness while playing but nothing that had any lasting effect. So mayybe Wipeout could be ok for some people? I don't know.. you go a hell of a lot faster than in the X-Wing.
This is one of those games that would have completely flown over my radar if it weren't for this channel. Granted, I haven't bought it yet (I just bought a bunch of other games on sale that I should play first) but I'm definitely going to in the near future thanks to you and the gamecats' glowing praise
Great review Bryan. I only bought this after you announced that they were doing the VR patch, and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed, the sense of speed and crisp graphics are incomparable in any other VR racer, and comfort settings off is a must, RAWR!
Thanks dude. I can't believe it took me so long to get around to writing and editing this review. (More about that on this week's episode of the Gamescast --- trust me, it's going to be an interesting show.) :D
I agree, I have been playing it when the blinders off and tied to the pilot and it is an exhilarating experience. really the best title currently on PSVR
Thought I'd revisit this, realising I'd missed this review first time round having bought and experienced the game since a year ago. Bryan, you've nailed explaining how good it is - it was my first purchase a year ago for a measly £5, truly one of the greatest gaming experiences of all time that gives me goosebumps every time - especially with Spotify blazing your favourite upbeat synthwave out at the same time! 👊
Great game! I have played a ton of dirt rally psvr and I drive this at phantom with locked headview and I have never been motionsick. The strange thing is That I cant look down and read for 10 sec when someone is drivning when Im in the passangerseat in a car, i get sick at once.
Thank you for the review. I bought the game after watching this video and I completely agree with you. This is my favorite PSVR game at the moment, I'm spending hours going through the campaign, it's a blast. Great game to show of the PSVR to friends too.
It's amazing that they never made a new Wipeout for PS5 or even PS4. One of the best games and it deserved more than just a ps vita release and then to be forgotten about
ok i have to say thank you and i should listen to you better. i downloaded the game wipe out omega collection. demo and i had to do this 4 times each time it would not work and once i played i went to best buy and bought it for $15.99 because i am a game member and i bought the game paranormal for $11.99 yea there maybe i was crazy after watching your review. any way thanks for looking out for me and so many others you do rock my friend bryan. as always forever young god bless bobby lee 007. let me no how agony is when you start to play it ok thanks.
Is it just me or do the WipeOut HD levels feel almost claustrophobic compared to the WipeOut 2048 ones? The tracks themselves just feel so much wider and more open in 2048. Regardless, this is an AMAZING PSVR game.
Didn't get too deep into this title. The load times are a little long, otherwise solid experience. I've owned my psvr for 2 months and other than super hot, no game has been able to grab me. Great work with the channel, been subbed since I picked up my headset. Hopefully a game changer will be announced at E3.
DogOfHades owned and completed RE7 before I bought the VR. Skyrim I've beaten so many times I've lost count. Got skyrim VR through the bundle and I feel both games aren't better than their flat screen counterparts. I just feel like I'm missing something when it comes to the experience.
I just bought this game which states VR mode included on front but when I try to play in VR it’s just like a big movie screen, not VR. Can anyone advise what to do?
I hate to tell you this but i turned on my PSVR headset, started Wipeout Omega, and the game immediately went straight into VR mode. That could be because I have a saved game that remembered my settings, so you could go into the options menu and try to turn it on there. But it should start in VR if you're wearing your headset.
How difficult was it to capture footage on this one where you weren't crashing into a wall or getting blown up? Or am I just really terrible at this game?
It takes some time, trust me. I was crashing into walls constantly until I unlocked more ships and learned to use L2 and R2. I'm still not great but I'm way better than I was 10 hours ago. :D
Ah this game. I love it so damn much, awesome review. Third person mode is a laugh and online....what a game. Can't wait to get more episodes of this up on my side.

The Redout PSVR patch was supposed to be out by the end of 2017. I'm betting that it's still coming eventually, but for $20 you can't go wrong with Wipeout while you wait. :D
PSVR Without Parole oh. I'm not waiting. I literally bought Wipeout months in advance just waiting for the VR update. I absolutely love this game. A must have for sure. Just wondered what the concensus was on redout in general
I bought Wipeout way ahead of time too. And actually... I bought Redout too. That thing is sitting around here somewhere, still sealed... If I can find it I might give it a shot (you got me curious!) :D

I'm loving psvr so far but I was disappointed with this one. Yes I'm probably in the 0.001 % but I struggled to take a corner without crashing into the walls always have been. I'm probably just shit at the game but only one I was half decent at was 2097. Felt slow with sporadic boosts only when I went over the boost pads then slowed down again. Any tips to get more out of this game appreciated. I want to love it feel like I'm missing out since everyone else loves it.
It's tough to learn and slamming into every wall is part of the learning process. But stick with it. The game starts off very slow for beginners but within an hour or two you'll be moving much, much faster and taking turns like a pro. Good luck! :D
@@WithoutParole ok cheers! Thanks I'll keep plugging away at it hopefully something clicks and I fall in love with it. Using the air brakes is a must?? Is that the key or memorising the the track? Or both.
The air brakes are a must, and memorizing the tracks definitely helps too. It's not always easy to tell which way the track is going to turn when you're coming out of another turn, so a but of muscle memory goes a long way. Wipeout Omega is one of those games that might not be immediately likable (except for those amazing graphics) but the more you play, the better it gets.
@@WithoutParole appreciate your replys man I'm lucky im not one to get motion sickness or legs at ALL. turning the blinders off may help too. TrackMania turbo with that U turn track actually triggered adrenaline rollercoaster feels loved it and crave more of it.

You forgot to mention that vr players can play with ps4 players. Meaning the multiplayer is not segregated.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any PSVR games that segregate their VR players from non-VR. Can you?
I think Dirt Rally segregates their player base. Driveclub does it for sure as Driveclub VR is a completely new game and not an add on.
