Wow! This is surprisingly close in a lot of ways for where the direction of the story and the mythology of things are going. Thank you so much for your review of things and love your vids! We haven't shown much of the lizard / snake people yet haha. It's our hope to pay homage to a lot of the ocean themed and mythological stories that have been shared over time, and retell / modernize some of the older ones!
Dear@@CartoonUniversehave you thought about opening a P.O Box📫and have you seen the Pilot Episode for this Indie Animation Series called The Earth Guy it has a high school in space so you just know that's going to be Shipping Wars of all the characters👽👾🚀🛸
In real life, the moon has effects on the tides, and I like the implication that the reason why that's the case in the world of Port by the Sea is because Tiamat, who control the seas and oceans, was trapped in it.
its important to note that as a whole, it isn't exactly 'succeeding'. While the big names are funded, a lot of pilots is indicative of a lot of attempts at success, but until we start funding more full series, I don't think we've reached a peak, at least I hope not.
@@CartoonUniverse A lot of the big names in the "indie world" are hard to describe as indie when they rock massive teams with industry experience and have huge budgets. I'd be interested to know if this one was crowd funded or where the money came from considering the staff. Your cartoon @CartoonUniverse is more the spirit of indie imo, and its these bigger projects (which are great by the way) are hurting real indie animation by raising expectations of what indie should be.
The term "Titan" when used just right can echo loudly in fiction. 2 good examples (to me) are the class of Transformers who once upon a time were just city sized cybertronians and are now starters of civilizations. The other being in the monsterverse movies where the kaiju in those movies were the actual first gods, that franchise even has its own version of Tiamat.
I just watched the pilot yesterday and I honestly think it’s alright. It’s interesting in some places like the lore and the characters but the plot feels simple yet and generic but not bad, and the animation ranges from okay to beautiful in some instances. Overall I give the pilot a 7.5/10 it’s not the best indie animation pilot out there but it does its job well and I hope there’s more in the future.
These Indie Cartoons have so much lore in everything! Also I had no idea Port by the Sea is a new Indie Cartoon as well, this looks pretty cool and its nice we get to know more about it and actually see what the Pilot looks like! Also I think most Indie Cartoons have lots of mythology in it especially of how much success these cartoons get plus I need to know what is Port by the Sea and what its about.😮😁
I loved watching Port by the Sea. The Pilot was so Beautifully done, and you can just tell how much Love and Passion went into making it. I really do hope that it can become a full on series! 💛😻😻😻💛
Something you missed about the Dragon like Titan, during the pilot we see shortly before the last confrontation with Moonified Bonny Umi is interacting with a reptile like humanoid alongside that I’d describe the Imps we see as very reptile so I wouldn’t say its a stretch to say the Dragon Titan is more of a catchall for reptiles, another thing of note on how Bonny Moonified form resembles the Dragon Titan a lot more then a more monstrous version of Bonny, the Moon wasn’t formed of Tiamat it was formed of the other 3 Titans so it’s possible these monster forms are being influenced more by the other titans then Tiamat directly.
This looks like a great product that is indeed worth watching, This will be a great year for both new animation projects and returning shows for new seasons!
I was there when it was just released 30 or so minutes ago. I immediatley knew it was gonna get attention. I love the character designs, characters, story and animation. It's just so good
saw the first 10 seconds of this and immediately went to watch the pilot before coming back lol this has so much potential i really hope we get more episodes someday
the pieces of the moon reminds me of the pieces of the devil's mirror in the snow queen. it's a more dramatized version of shards of an evil deity's big reflective shiny thing lodging themselves in people/things and corrupting them
I really liked the video, and it's an excellent pilot. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. You could make a video about "Monkey Wrench" it's an independent animated series and they totally deserve more love
Has anyone seen the Pilot Episode for this Indie Animation Series called The Earth Guy it's very interesting and I do love sci-fi and it's has a high school in space so you just know there's going to be Shipping Wars of all the characters🚀🛸👽👾
Once upon a time, four great Titans ruled the world. They each held a part in the creation of the Earth, and they were each responsible for some facet of the creation of life, with each having their own sentient mortal races under their care and inspiration. However, one day the Titan of the Ocean, Tiamat, wanted to claim all the parts of the world for himself, so he began to cover the world in ocean. Massive tsunamis and hurricanes swept civilizations away, sending their peoples down to a place most dark and cold. The other great Titans had enough of his destruction, and so they sacrificed themselves to imprison Tiamat in the Moon, so that while the Ocean raged ever more against the land, it would be chained by strings unseen and reduced to the tides. And so, the story of the Titans was ended, or so it seemed… However, there was a Fifth Titan… far more powerful than the rest. It lay in the death of stars before the four Titans had even come into being, and it was the one to give birth to them. It was a Titan so terrible, so powerful, that its presence is engrained into the very soil, the very sand, and the very fine dusts of existence. Water is its blood, wind its breath, land is its body and fire is its stomach. It was the First Devourer, the Titan of Hell, the Beast that devours Gods… its few names known to only a few, but ever so feared.
The name of the fish Bonnie is probably a reference to the Scottish Folk song "my bonnie" I have heard a couple different versions but the one I know best is : My Bonnie lies over the ocean My Bonnie lies over the sea Well, my Bonnie lies over the ocean Please bring back my Bonnie to me Bring back, my Bonnie to me Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me oh, bring back, bring back Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me Well, my Bonnie lies over the ocean My Bonnie lies over the sea My Bonnie lies over the ocean Please bring bring back my Bonnie to me bring back, oh, bring back Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me Oh, bring back, bring back Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me
And I'm there, still wishing I could make my own animated pilot, but I'm unable to do so because I can't animate and I don't have many friends, none of them being animators. It's one of my dreams but it feels so out of reach. And in the meantime I'm just there doing nothing productive, being a burden on society.
Hm, I see, how very interesting, I have noticed this, but haven’t watched it yet, i might now though, i wonder how far it will go? I hope it does well. Anyway, this was a very well done Video, a very good Review. Hm, say, speaking of Indie-Animation, do you know of Gildedguy?

the only tiamat I know is from spelunky
@@wearenumberone1111 That's the name of the Titan trapped in the moon in Port by the Sea. It was literally shown in this video.
Independent animation really is going through a bit of a golden age right now 😊
But not for fan base because for example tadc got milked by content farm
Indie Animation is truly is at its peak right now so glad to see it succeeding

@CartoonUniverse that is true Monkey Wrench is kinda struggling and I really miss Long Gone Gulch

Damn you’re a good writer
This was a cute pilot! At first I thought it was something from Creg of the creek
I really like the art style of the show! It looks like something that would air on Cartoon Network, but also has it's own unique edge.
I love how port of the sea looks its awesome lol i hope it get famous
First 10 mins is insane
Yees! The attention PBTS deserves! I love this pilot so much, so it reaches it's goal in order to full the hole the Owl House in my heart
The Editor Haro said the same thing, it felt like Owl House meets Bee and Puppycat

Ankle is my favorite of the characters.
In the Monsterverse, the monsters in that series are called Titans, Godzilla is one of them
Are you planning to do a video about monkey wrench because it as very interesting lore.
I love this!
I thought the newest indie cartoon was Space King? PRAISE BE SPACE KING!
The human god kinda looks like a cat
Port by the sea is REALLY COOL
I love creators of animation someday. I will do the same and make my own animation series

It’s giving my little pony with the og story lol
That's a cat, not a human.

interesting series.
What about the space king
What about indie Talon?
Does anyone think it's a mixture of The Owl house & the video game Dredge
“Magical talking animal humanoids”
Furries. You mean furries.
This show kind of remind me about one piece little
If you're looking for more indie cartoons to cover, any exposure for my series Ollie & Scoops is much appreciated. :) Thanks for your consideration!
The first looks more like cat than a woman
I watched it and did not enjoyed.
Do a video on “The Sensational Catman.”
