No apologies needed. You're living your best life and taking chances. Glad to have you back in Cali though. You guys are inspiring and a blessing to us who watch.
That looks fishy down there, and snaky. LMAO. Have me laughing on my lunch. Great video. I camped at Crowley BLM Campground the same weekend with my family and friends but would love to camp at these sites. Working on acquiring a proper rig. Thanks for the awesome content.
Your A/V skills are right up there with Ridley Scott. What an amazing trip, thanks so much for sharing, although I might have to start questioning your fishing skills if this keeps up. Subscribed to flyfisher530 after part 1....good stuff.
Thanks Arch...But I'm not sure about that...I'm just a guy that shoots some random videos and does his best job with Final Cut Pro. I think it's my passion that helps create the content. We love it! And I agree...LOL...I need to start videoing my catches otherwise no-one will ever believe me...Mike appreciates the follow I'm sure...Happy Trails
Oh dang that was a nice campsite. I used to live in June Lake and used to take one of the rental boats back there. My dog loved the area. Never thought about camping there.
Dang i sure missed your 395 videos........glad to see you two back........IMO, this has to be one of your best series.........I've also never been to that side of the lake.......Thanks for the video(s)........
Thanks for the kind words. Editing these videos was a little more detailed and hope it showed through!!! Glad to be back at it. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Happy Trails
Great vid. I grew up just up the road in Lee Vining. Haven't been back in years, but planning an August trip and was thinking of camping there on the back side of Grant.
Awesome, I so miss the Eastern Sierra's, it's really cool that you showed places most of only dream about seeing, I hope you're going up to Brighport also one of the most beautiful places to see.
We leave for on another trip this Saturday...Out plan is to head up towards Bridgeport. We do love it there too. We spent a 4th of July there once, and it was memorable. Thanks for the comment.
The both of you are great people and as always, enjoy watching your content regardless of what state you are filming in. Happy everything is working out for you and your family! Looking forward to your next 395 posting.
I was shocked in your video at how much snow was gone in Mammoth Lakes! We were there at the beginning of April and there was so much snow that they had caravans of trucks hauling out the snow.
Just got home and had a chance to watch this video! So fun to see this trip again - we had a blast! That lakeside campsite is up there with the best of them. And great to get together again with both of you!!! 🙌 🎣
@@395jnky Hi Daniel! Talked to Jerry at last Desert rendezvous and caught up on you guys... I followed the fence post channel and you and Tish put so much work into the property...well I guess it will still be there waiting for y'all, lol. Welcome back. If you are planning anything to Anza Borrego area let me know. -Mac
This 70 year old chickie from Western Australia just loved that thank. The scenery was awesome I like that you respect your wife and gave credit where credit was due. And I thought your music just the best. I look forward to checking out more of your channel even though I don't 4 x 4 or fish, although I don't mind fishing. BTW that link doesn't work.. just in case you didn't know. ??? Any chance you could list some of your music in your videos please...cheers.
Love the video would there be any anyway you’d be willing to share where this is? Just finishing up final touches on my overland trailer. And I’m planning a trip with my grandsons early summer. I particularly like the area your camped in at the beginning of part two. Thanks Jeff
The backside of Grant Lake is spectacular. It's my old stomping grounds, I've been to that exact spot more times than I can count. I grew up in June Lake, lived in town just down the street from the Tiger Bar. Glad you guys are back making great content again!
Very cool! We visited the same spot again a few days ago just because it was so spectacular the first time. Incredible how much more snow melted and how much higher the lake is in just 2 weeks…
Hi there…thanks so much for asking. Those cooking devices are called skottles…my most favorite cooking device on the trail. You can learn more about them on my site at www.395jnky.com Thx for the comment!
@@395jnky awesome! Thank you! If you ever find yourself up around Grande Prairie let me know, I'll take my rig out and we can check out Kakwa Falls if you've never been!
Camped at that exact spot on Grant in June of 2020, while the campgrounds were still closed for COVID. First off grid camping trip and that was my first spot. That was a wet winter too. Looked exactly the same.
I've been to the Owens Gorge before but not that area. I didn't realize there were so many camping options with great view up there. Also, an electric chainsaw is pretty handy for these kinds of trips. I've got a simple Ryobi and it does really well. Love that there's still so much snow out there. We really needed it!
Did you get up around Conway Summit and Virginia Lakes? I’m guessing that the road to Virginia Lakes is most likely still closed as the elevation (if my old memory is working) is just shy of 10,000’. I look forward to more of your vids to bring back memories from decades ago. Have you done much exploring in the Sweetwaters off 182 (I forget the number it changes to when you cross into NV) past Bridgeport Reservoir where you turn left at the Sweetwaters Ranch? I love all your vids especially those along the Eastern Sierras, that’s the only part of Ca I miss since moving out of the state almost 10 years ago.
It was posted 6 days ago but I missed when it was filmed. I’m very interested in going to Alaska by end of the year. I’m in Texas so it will be a major Trek.
Looks like an awesome trip!! In a couple weeks I'll be taking a trip through June Lake down to Alabama Hills. Could you share the names of the trails you took along Grant/June Lake and the Owens River from Bishop? The scenery there looked amazing. Looks like the Mammoth Lakes area will still be snowed in unfortunately

They finally opened the 108 hwy (Sonora Pass) 2 days ago. It was gorgeous when we went through there on our way to Nevada side of Lake Tahoe via 395.
1st overlander/fly fishing channel I have seen……love it. Tight lines my friend ….
Awesome! Thank you!
I live here. I love every minute of it.
Awesome videos like always 🤘
I'm only 2 minutes in, but you got me at the intro! Good job.
Thanks. Glad you liked it! I liked it too. Just a random song I stumbled upon that seemed to fit the bill!!!

Again great video. I am sure about that fish 😂 . Don’t wait so long before the next one

Good call Mama Goose! Distant Brewery is a must pit stop when in or near Mammoth!
One of the nice things with The Ursa and my new GFC. If you park right when there is wind. That hard roof works like a wind block.
Absolutely. It's when the wind swirls you got a problem. LOL
The Double L Bar in Lone Pine is a nice place to visit if you need a beer.

Nice soundtrack
Any tips on how to find the trail that led down to the water😂?
Google Earth is a great resource....😂
Great camp spot.i was there a few weeks ago
Yes it was! Thanks for the comment. Happy Trails
Fishy and snaky😂
My good bros do a Walker river float fishing trip now for years. They just float and fish all the way down to the lake.
That sounds like a lot of fun! Do they use an outfitter?
awesome vid
Thank you
ChiliDog Cook was PHENOMENAL!!!!
Thanks…
Snow bad.
Those chicken sandwiches look like they would be great with some sriracha mayo!
I like the sound of that!!!!
Can’t believe how much snow there was in that area! Some great footage and sights that’s for sure.
Cheers my friends!!
Do you have a GPS for that camping site or which trail to take.
Great video...Was road open to Lake Mary??
Thank you. Not yet...It is still closed at Lower Twin...and there was a lot of snow on the ground still....
@@395jnky thx.. im headed up next week..
Leave out the music, tell us where U are, how U feel the pro and cons of the trip. Leave out the music.
Appreciate your feedback. Have a great week!
4x4 or high clearance to get to the grant lake site ?
Definitely
@@395jnky tried to make it and couldn’t the ruts where so bad haha. And the wind was to strong to camp the night unfortunately.
