A s gr8 sample of how a melodious pop song could be perfectly crafted.Abba in their honeyfied maturity. And a well deserved no1 smash hit, both single and album.
Hey my man Chase ! your a Super Trouper for this one ! ... the song title refers to that giant spot light used on stage, concerts. ABBA originally wanted to shoot the music video at London's Piccadilly Circus but the London authorities nixed that idea afraid it would cause way too much public commotion so the video was created and filmed in a Swedish studio.
I am so excited watching your ABBA education and can't wait for you to discover more of their huge catalogue. Another great artist to add to your list is the late Olivia Newton-John. She was friends with ABBA as they had both been contestants in the same year of the Eurovision Song Contest. ABBA later appeared on a special show of Olivia's in the US. She started as a country girl but hit mega stardom following her role in the film Grease. Songs like Physical, Twist of Fate, Little More Love were more up beat but her ballads like Hopelesly Devoted To You and I Honestly Love You will break your heart. She battled cancer for over 20 years, but continued to work throughout and raised millions for charity. She was also a friend of Karen Carpenter. We sadly lost Olivia in August 2022.

loving seeing your reactions to ABBA are phenomenal legendary & their music is timeless cheers Chase from downunder Melbourne Australia we love you to peace to you as well
Thank you for reacting to Super Trouper Chase. This is the title song from their 1980 Album of the same name which I consider their best Album ever. During the Chorus, it's their use of synthesizers and meticulous sound design that brings this song to another level. Frida's lead vocals are flawless, and the blend of her and Agnetha's voices is otherworldly. I was 18 when this Album came out, and I remember declaring "I'm hearing the future! " I also recommend "Lay All Your Love on Me" from this Album, a synth heavy dance track that will launch you to another dimension. Keep up the great work Chase. I'm so glad younger generations are experiencing the ABBA magic. This makes me smile!
Great reaction! I love Super Trouper too! ✨ The other guy's name is Björn. It rhymes with "burn" or "yearn" (not "born" or "corn", the ö is a different letter than o), so if you is able to put a y-sound in "burn", or say a "b" before the word "yearn" like "b-yearn" you're close. Björn means "bear" in Swedish. His last name is Ulvaeus. Ulv is an old word for "wolf" so his name is almost like "Bear Wolfeus"... 🐻🐺
Thanks Chase. Such a brilliant group... they just rolled out hit after hit in the 70's and early 80's.. And then blessed us with a new album in 2021, which I'm sure you will bump into at some point. 😊
Ahh!What a momentum.I had wtnessed similar moments twice....first time listen on the radio with the dj presenting 'Gimme!Gimme!Gimme!" late '79 and 'One of Us" late '81.

Björn's songwriting genius: "when I called you last night from Glasgow" - almost certainly the only place in the world that rhymes with 'last show'. Plus it's a pretty cold, miserable place to be when you're alone (can be a fun place too, don't hate me Scots). Perfection.
Great your listening to the greatest band of all time, im enjoying your reactions. React to "Does your mother know " think you will really like this one

After 70's, their whole style all from the clothes, hairdo not to mention music (more synth used) has changed and was about set a standard to 80's music. Can never go wrong with ABBA ❤
My farorite part is the third verse, the sensitivity and warmth in Frida's delivery is insane 🙂
The chord sequence in that middle is beautiful.

and is the second most selling ABBA song in UK
