Personally he seemed to me like a compressed hypno disc. To be he went so badly from after the group battle
just took too much damage from thor early on and the weapon was disabled? it was hard to tell though
having such a rapidly spinning disc integrated into the robot's interior should really cause massive complications when it's absorbing so much energy from the collisions whereas hypnodisk had low ground clearance and a mounted disk instead
I agree. They were unlucky to have technical issues with the spinner. Shockwave was lucky to win this episode as well.
Robot wars should be international. Arenas across the globe. I'd like to see what mad Japanese inventors could come up with etc
Agreed It would be epic as fuck to see what inventors from all parts of the world would indeed come up with :).
There was 3 world championship tournaments, no Japanese competitors, but there were plenty of teams from different countries you wouldn't expect.

Battlebots give their competitors very generous donations to make the best robots they can, so yeah probably.
Depends if they can survive the Hazards and House Robots.
Sure they maybe good in a 2 way KO but in a group battle it maybe different.
Well the bots in battle bots get to have different build specs so it wouldn't really be fair.

MrStefan124 Tombstone would do well but it certainly wouldn't "fuck all these sorry bots up" it struggled to beat Foxic at RoboGames. Plus the House Robots have a big enough weight advantage and enough armour that Tombstone couldn't do too much. All it's energy would go back through itself and kill it.

It left TV on 28th march 2004 because of poor ratings and budget concerns, the BBC controller in 2002 Jane Root said the following "Robot Wars has been great for us, but all things good come to an end" after the show failed to get more than 2 million viewers. Channel 5 then picked it up and said they were going to change the format and the arena, sadly they didn't have the money to invest in the show, which lead to the house robots being flipped around and the arena getting destroyed on several occasions, advertising and moving the show around into different time slots didn't help either and by the final episode had only picked up 800,000 viewers.
Apparently it was the BBC's fault for postponing a few episodes for some boring golf events.

Either that or they didn't want to go through and 'accidently' fell in the pit.
It was better for them to leave with their robot intact rather than decapitated by Carbide.
But I wanted to see them get decapitated! This is Robot Wars. The whole point of the show is to cut other robots to pieces!

Thats only because Robot Wars isnt the same as it used to be. If it was how it used to be then it would be way better than battle bots.

We're the bots on robot wars and battlebots strictly on one show or the other? I was always wondering why we never saw a bot from robot wars on battlebots and vice versa. We're they different classes of bots or what?
according to contractual agreements, they can't do that.
the robots of robot wars can compete in battlebots but in only two circunstances, 1) the robot abandoned robot wars, like Killerhurtz or 2) the robot have another name, like Dantomkia that in battlebots has the name of Spitfire, Spitfire do incredibly well in battlebots but it was destroyed by the surgeon general (made by the same team that entered with ramstein in the independence war of robot wars), by the side of Battlebots, the team can compete but not the robot, robots like Son of whyachi or Mauler are banned for life (beacuse robot wars dont want to reforce the battle arena only for two robots that are very destructive, and because bot robots can damage with more cruelty the house of robots) if the robot is out of battlebots (like frenzy) the robot can compete, for example, Razer (yes, the team and razer, no warhead) competed in battlebots in the payper views of 1999, it has a decent career with 3 wins and 3 looses, and a victory in one royal rumble (razer won no for be the terminator, razer won because biohazard arm was stuck the maulers body and tazbot was helping that other two to liberate, mean while Razer was torturing the poor frenzy) because the UK robot wars wasnt created, after the poor career of razer in the US they decided to compete in the UK and well, design a special robot to compete in the US (warhead)

*KillerhurtZ was kept for Battlebots because it was far more successful in the US, John Built THz for RW and began work on Beta to phase out KHz.
*Spitfire and DanTomKia are different bots.
*When Razer competed in Battlebots the BBC version of Robot Wars had already been running for two years. The team didn't think it was a good design for US competition so they told Greg & Trey they'd build a special bit to wow they crowds at Battlebots, hence Warhead.
When will it air in America?
Well, maybe since it shares its time slot in the UK with Top Gear which is shown in America so maybe or just look it up on UA-cam, don't blame ya
It came in America in 2018. Its on Spectrum TV now

Face it, this new Robot Wars will never match the old one. With Bash gone and BBC2 ignoring Craig Charles to be the host baffles me. Also the new format is confusing.
this series was made in a hurry. It's cheap and improvised. however, the new format means there's more fights per episode than any other season.
soundslave More fights don't impress me. It's the overall layout and how much effort they put into making it.

Yeah it wasn't a great display from the robots - They weren't bad robots as such, they just didn't work properly on the day of filming. It happens.
Outside the fights this episode provided a certain amount of insight as to WHY these robots weren't working as well as they should have been, which I found pretty interesting.
***** Because these robots are crap. Look at Tombstone, nothing seems to go wrong with it unless it hits it's opponent on the final countdown and drop it's batteries

Yeah, nothing ever goes wrong with Tombstone, except when something goes colossally wrong with it :P
I'm sure Tombstone does need constant maintenance in order to keep it running properly, but Ray Billings must be very good at keeping on top of it, simply because he's used the same design for such a long time that he knows exactly what to look for in terms of mechanical wear. It is quite possibly prone to imploding like it did against Bronco after too many hits - that's bound to put a lot of stress on the machinery which is simply unavoidable with that type of design.
The difference between Tombstone and a lot of the robots on here is most of them are pretty new and haven't been tested very thoroughly - so the teams have a harder time diagnosing and correcting problems when they arise, because they have no way of knowing exactly what to expect. Mr Speed Squared was only 5 weeks old when this episode was filmed, and completely untested, for example, and suffered from an unforeseen fault with the bearings that spin the weapon. Plus it took a lot of damage from Thor, due to the fact it weighed in above the weight limit and had to take off half of its armour, and the team weren't able to fully repair it in the time that was allocated. To write these robots off as "crap" based on their performances in a heavily edited version of the fights they were involved in on one show, displays a certain amount of ignorance that makes me think the points I've made here might go right over your head.
