"Apollo's in orbit" lmfao
I'm so glad that Jonathan Pearce is still commentating in Robot Wars, the show just wouldn't be the same without him.
RPKVids he's still been the only commentator on Robot Wars to date for U.K. only (not counting the Dutch, German and American Wars)
Sam Giles - He's actually the only person to have featured in every single episode of UK robot wars =)
TheTradge Noel Sharkey?
wally. - Good point, forgot he was in the first series too!
I'm always amazed to see how big the robots are when the teams are wheeling them into the arena.
Агепшнввнгара
4:12 Thus 2 of the house robots got flipped. No matter the improvements, they still get the same result.
Much better battles this episode, enjoyed it!
shame they hadn't mention that Storm 2 vs PP3D is a grudge match since PP3D's team captain was a member of the typhoon 2 team
They never actually mentioned anything about the old series since they're trying to start from scratch.
Headbanger142 right
+Headbanger142 Bad idea, just like with Doctor Who.
4:14 god I love Jonathan Pearce's laugh
4:10 Apollo's claim to badassery. Holy *fuck*.
6:34 That flip was a work of art!
PP3D vs Eruption:
First minute: AWESOME CARNAGE!
Next two minutes: uh... spinning around... not hitting eachother (almost as bad as Foxic vs Mr Speed Squared)
Hey at least watching them spin around endlessly was kinda funny.
Well both of them had their wheels badly damaged.
I want house robots
Jesus, that Dara O'Briain is massive!
I can't wait for ep 5!
Fun fact: Apollo is the second robot that has successfully flipped Dead Metal.
Dalek Sram who was the first?
A Dutch robot called Gravity in series 7, heat D final.
Storm 2 was so underwhelming considering its price tag
Yeah, and so was Mortis. Your point?
+DemonOfTomorrow just leaving a comment, in the comment section, of a video ✌😑
Storm 2 was pretty well designed, defensively, defense robots are in concept alone, usually pretty boring.
Should point out the price is actually deceptive, if you was to build it again from scratch it wouldnt cost even a quarter of the stated price

Apollo are the new Cassius.
More like the new gravity.
Jammy Splodge Chaos 2 could never flip Dead Metal unlike Gravity in Series 7 who back then was the only robot to have done it.
tbh they are at best a B grade version of that awesome robot (gravity)
They're a very good machine, that's for sure. I just hope their reliability holds out... Especially if they go against Carbide...
Gravedigger was the new Cassius, let alone Apollo.
Matilda and Dead metal weigh around 350kg each! Apollos flipping power is seriously huge! wouldn't want to be standing anywhere near it when that goes off!
The force in the ram of nearly all the robots youll see competing is around the 5 tonne mark. The leverage of the flipper arm reduces that, but itll still "lift" a ton.
Yeah imagine that hitting your nuts. XO
At least someone remembered the old house robots at 3:45
I just realized that sirkillalot is the only house robot to never be fliped
Storm 2's predecessor Typhoon 2 tried to flip him, but only succeeded in destroying his suspension.
Gladiator, there's so much wrong with that sentence I don't even know where to begin xD
Ikr im genuinely more confused over what he is actually trying to refer too....
5:31 Eruption and PP3D a robot dance off
I would love to see the better Robot Wars bots compete against the top BattleBots bots. What's the weight of the Robot Wars bots though for this season?
the Max weight for competitors this year is 110kg
Battlebots is 250 lb = 113 kg so that could actually work.
I'd love to see Bronco and Apollo clash
+Jake Copus off initial thought I feel like bronco would win, although apollo did impress me. Also thanks to both of you for the info!
It will take a couple of years before Robot Wars catches up with Battlebots in terms of overall robot quality. Most of the competitors are either old Robot Wars competitors who haven't significantly upgraded their designs, veterans of the UK circuit who haven't had to deal with spinners in years or rushed first time entries as the producers gave so little time between announcing entrants and the start of filming (hence the existence of Overdozer). That said, the quality of entrants in the first series of Robot Wars back in the day was low compared to the Americans who had been at it for years by that point but the UK very quickly caught up. I have no doubt the same will happen now. I do think Pulsar (when its working) would do quite well in the States though.
I wish that storm 2 had won this heat.
I love apola
What happened to Storm 2? In the last series it was so much faster with lots of ramming power.
Old motor was too expensive to run in live events,so they changed cheaper and much easier to overheat ones.Due to the preparation of Battlebots they don't have time to change back.
The sound mixing on these recaps is always so awful why
All it seems to do is give haters/old series nostalgia fanboys ammunition - I've actually seen people commenting that the fights are too short and the sound quality is poor, as if they think this is the actual TV show...
Lowered IQ due to genetics or emotion. lol
Some of us don't live in the UK so this is all we get.
donov25 and I'm sorry for that. These aren't even the full fights. There should be somewhere that you can stream it, but don't ask me where.
+Gay Bathroom Smell not the BBC website as thats UK only as well.
Can flip opponent and unflip self = win.
Man I wish they popularized this in USA cause this shots badass Apollo fucked up those other ones n they weren't eve napery of it lol
a the flippers like apollo lost their reputation of be savage rivals when they are in the US, because they are to weak if they are attacked by the sides of from behind, the US robots are more agile, for example and a fun fact at the same time, one of the first two robots in fight in the renovated battlebots of 2015 was a UK flipper, called kronic (who tecnically is apollo painted in blue, that two are very similar, but with diferent color), and kronic lost againts Swamp Thing, a single wedge bot with two wheels and a flamethrower, that fight was short, because kronic was dominated all the time by Swamp thing, another match was the bulldog (a flipper created by the same team of the bigger borther and the little sister) that fought in a triple battle, fighting Bulldog, the veteran Matt with Stinger, and the "mexican" Splatter, splatter only out attention to saw how Stinger pushed against the wall over and over again the Bulldog, and i have to say that the inertia labs flipper bot, Bronco, is more powerful
Temo Herbert Chronic was dominating Swamp Thing not the other way round, it lost due to an electrical issue nothing more. When running nitrogen Chronic has more lift than Bronco due to a larger ram and more leverage with the flipper. The reason you don't see wedge flippers like Apollo/Eruption/Rapid is because they don't want to encourage wedge bots at Battlebots.
Bullshit, Eruption should have beat Storm 2, Storm 2 was immobilised.
Storm 2 very disappointing
There are no robots, and the combat is all forklift frenzy bullshit.
"Forklift frenzy bullshit"
Please, continue.
The flipper bot scourge is old news.
"there are no robots"
Erm, yes there are - about 45 of them across the series
Battlebots have much more great design bots....
Battlebots > Robot Wars
you can't really compare them this a brand new reboot that started this year so the robots aren't up to scratch compared to the robots over the pond
Same concept though, even the first season of the reboot of Battle Bots was far better than any season of Robot Wars
Thems fighting words.
Certainly the current run of battlebots is better than current robot wars but only in terms of robots.
Theres too much garbage american TV filler in battlebots. The robot wars show is better.
Robot wars has Jonathan Pierce. Nothing can beat that.
You don't watch the show for people, you watch it for robots tearing each other apart. Robot Wars is full of flippers and pushers. Low quality bots. Battlebots has several knockouts through each season and Robot Wars does not. That's what you watch for. Battling bots destroying each other and not just getting knocked around.
